In the description of the GTA V PS5 trailer it says "second half of 2021"... which probably means it's going to be at least October before that's out. Not a clue about when GTA VI might be announced then!

 

Who at Rockstar thought it would be a good idea to do this?! I can't even understand why from a business perspective!

Wasn't there a situation like this in 2010-2011 where it seemed impossible of another GTA any time soon and then BOOM an announcement and trailer.

Just because there might be money there doesn't mean its going to do well. Look at companies like Apple... they knock out a new iPhone every year and each one always becomes the best selling of all time. I don't think there's much difference with doing that with video games.

I think people are underestimating how much money they are doing thanks to microtransactions

Look, here's the thing. GTA VI is still coming. And IF you are interested, and willing to pay for it (if you don't have PS+ and a PS5 at launch or shortly after) otherwise it's free. Then you can play GTA V enhanced, likely in 4K, maybe 60fps.

yes, it sucks they're still supporting GTA V 7+ years later, and keep porting it. But GTA VI is still coming. And you're all going to be excited for it and hyped, no matter what. If you have any anger, vent it at TT, not Rockstar. 

To be honest, I'll be playing through all GTA games once GTA VI is announced, and playing an enhanced version will be pretty cool. 

 

I just don't think it's as bad as people are making out.

not only it's coming but also not re-releasing GTA V again with some enhancements wouldn't speed up the release of GTA 6 in any way. so while we wait we might as play GTA V with some extra improvements

I'm not angry because I wasn't obviously expecting anything GTA VI related, I was just a bit surprised to see another GTA V release but in hindsight it was to be expected.

It's just worrying because it's another confirmation of Rockstar shifting their focus on online GaaS type games with microtransactions, because that is what makes the most money by a huge margin. It would be nice if this new edition will bring new features and content to single player, but we all know it's going to just be some graphical/frame rate enhancements (which I already have on PC) and stuff for online.

I dont want to believe it is just trolling by Rockstar. It doesnt make sense to announce GTA V Ps5 version 1 year before release like a sequel or something completely new. They announced pc version RDR2 and release a month after or V ps4 version in summer and released 5 months after. Im started to believe they will announce VI this fall and use V Ps5 version part of VI's marketing.

It's just a bummer that they had to go on the PS5 reveal to show it. They literally could have done this on the newswire a day or two later and it'd lessen the blow a little bit. We'd all be disappointed still but we wouldn't go in expecting big things like they did at the PS5 show.

I am actually happy rockstar is releasing gta 5 again. It will give them a tool to practice on next gen and get feedback from customers. Rockstar can fully use the potential of next gen hardware. And its not like we will get gta 6 anytime soon. So its better to have something familiar fill in the gap

If they decided to follow a certain path with GTAO, then what could happen with GTA6 and its online part? I mean, they're running GTAO with high success, they won't lower the standards. It hurts whenever I think about that.

What if GTA VI is still coming? It is not an excuse for releasing the same game in a third generation after seven years. I know that they are making a lot of money with GTA Online and I could understand the launch of the multiplayer in the new generation. But come on, they did not even work in a trailer with the enhancements for this release. They launched RDR 2 two years ago so they need three years for the release of GTA V in PS5? And they did not even make a proper trailer?

 

What about new IP´s? Are they going to work just in GTA and RDR forever? They could even make a lot of money with a new cross game generation using aother franchise or showing something completely fresh. They have the talent, they have the resources but they don´t want to use all of this. They don´t owe anything to us, they have the right to do what they want to do for sure, but this sucks tbf.

 

I would be happy with a new version of RDR 2 with new content. It would make sense because we are talking about their latest game. Squeezing GTA V more and more is just laziness and greed.
