Rockstar are going to be announcing something at the PS5 update however people believe it's going to be an announcement for RDR2 remake for the ps5.

The most surprising thing i can imagine from rockstar in this event is a gta 3 full remake(there was a listing for something related to gta 3 last year if im not mistaken)

RDR2 remake!!! yeah maybe for PS6! you have to wait a bit longer!


Best they can do is to bring RDR2 PC ultra settings to PS5 ( 1080p 60fps + 4K 30fps ) 
(Go watch digital foundries videos for RDR2 PC version if you think PC version was just a console port...)

They wouldn't call it a remaster, just like they didn't call GTA V for current-gen a remaster. But seriously i doubt that they'll release it physically and sh*t when you could just use your PS4/XONE disc thanks to backwards compatibility.

IF it is RDR2, it'll be the same version of PS4 and XONE or close to the PC version.
But still, that would make no sense because, as you said, there's backwards compatibility. Thinking that they will make it look better then old gen consoles is just stupid imo, I'm sorry but that's how I think about it, probably it can run better, 20 to 30 fps more.

Games can also be enhanced for the new consoles like they were for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. There is nothing wrong with that and devs will 100% add exclusive features to existing games.

 

Edit: Let me clarify, this doesn't mean the original version isn't backwards compat.

RDR2's environment is a bit weird for ray tracing tho. It's mostly open space and the RAGE engine does a good job already, but that would be a good selling point for new players.

The inclusion of raymarching in the game says otherwise, actual real time raytracing would improve it even more. In fact, RT can improve any game especially because it's not a screen-space effect, it can map rays of light in real time, etc. I'm sure RDR2 would look impressive with real RT. We'll see but it would be cool.

"Enhance" is a pretty big word if you ask me. In this case there's not much to enhance, the game looks as good as it can get on all the platforms. If I was a console player I'd be very happy if the performance was better, they can easily make it run at more then 30 fps on new the new hardware.
