Rockstar  have used industry events for DLC and remaster announcements but they always announce brand new titles on their own dime.

 

They don't like to share the spotlight for brand new games and I doubt they'll ever announce a new video game in June ever again as long as it remains the E3 month, I'm not sure if they ever have full stop.

I share your thoughts totally, and I understand you never mentioned GTA IV announcement as it was announced this way for once, but we can't truly understand R* reasons, maybe they just didn't find a good opportunity on the events platforms, maybe they will this time... I mean we have a bad feeling over the past for the future, there's slight chance it gets announced especially with the 3 titles/bundles?.

GTA IV's announcement was a bit unique, it wasn't accompanied by a trailer and it was basically Microsoft throwing a ton of money at Rockstar to get the latest GTA on Xbox and literally flexing that in front of the industry at the time.

 

Typically they don't like E3, one of the Houser's has publicly called it a d*ck waving contest. The story of their relationship supposedly goes back to GTA3 where they were annoyed that State of Emergency got all the buzz when they thought they had something more interesting, basically, so they never went back in a public capacity again.

 

I don't think we'll ever see them take a GTA IV style deal like they did back then, they don't need to anymore and in order for it to be worth it they'd have to be paid more money than it'd be worth it for the platform holder.

Which Houser though? Because this is the elephant in the room. The former familial omertà, the brotherly creative dynamic, has been forever fractured and one of the Housers has in one way or another found sufficient reason to totally and permanently disassociate from Rockstar,

That was my opinion the day I heard the news of Dan's departure, that VI will be his last hurrah and that'll be that.

 

The both of them have enough money to retire and live very, very comfortably and the pair of them from all I've seen and heard of them over the years are probably not huge fans of the direction of the games industry at the moment, so I wouldn't be shocked if we never see them work in the industry again.

What if they are not 3 different games but 3 edition of the same game, for example standard, limited and collectors edition?

As others stated, I hardly think it's GTA 6, I mean the work from home policy, most likely created obstacles within the process of setting up announcements, it's not like we will get a whole new trailer that showcase parts of the game, what we are likely to get is a simple #GTA6 hashtag tweet or a blank picture showing the logo of the next title.
