COD business plan was make a game every year or two. GTA plan is make a long, stable game that will be played for years. That is really a bad example.

im 15, and I know all my other 15 year old mates love 80's vibes. I don't think the game would suffer it was set in 80's. As long as it's got good gameplay and fast cars, guns etc

Theres no big difference between 80s Technology and modern day, If you Take a Look at gameplay elements. Everything GTAO has included, could easily transferred to a 80s setting. 

 

RDO hast lost a huge Part of playerbase, because its bugged as hell and the content is disappointing Low.

The game is meant to be 18+. Rockstar don't give a f*ck about kids, why would they add torture, swear words, drugs, murder etc in their game if they cared.

Rockstar just want to make violent games with good stories

Well, then I have bad news for you. R* cares very much what kids are playing today. And if you think that flying bikes and lazer guns were added to the game only because they felt it would make the game better... you are wrong. They are adding all this after studiying the market. And I think they have a pretty high capital for the data analytics team. So they know what they are doing.

The current state of GTAO looks more like saints row than a GTA game. Let's see what they will bring to the table with GTA VI.

Maybe it will be a Fortnite clone after all. (This is a joke lol.... I hope so).

This is the clear difference between R* and you (and me). They care about everything. A bad move could bring them less money than a planed and studied one.

Here's the thing, though. Looking at all the updates they've done. there's almost nothing they couldn't have done, had GTA V been st in the 80's. Of course each individual car wouldn't make it, but for every car you could add in modern times there's an 80's equivalent. People don't spend money because they want a modern car. they spend the money to get the cool sh*t, be it cars, planes, guns, boats, properties, or whatever. Rockstar can sell anything they want. it doesn't hold them back.

 

Again, I'd like to clarify. I'm NOT saying GTA VI WILL be in the 80's. But that it's entirely possible. I do believe the game will be set in the past, to some extent, however.

I'm really curious. I know about one of the Houser brothers are still there. Is Lazlow still there?

You know their not just purely sadistic without the housers, rockstar are still a game company and evidently care about their games enough to put out constant updates for them.

Here's the real thing. What are people grinding money for? Cars.

Planes? nope. Only one expansion with planes.

Guns? Buy once and forget about it.

Boats? C'mon...

Properties? If they need more storage for cars.

CARS. What cars do kids buy the most? Modern or classic? Modern.

R* knows what sells and they won't make changes just to make what they would really love as game designers (for example make a GTA in the past). They simply will make a game that makes the most money possible. And for a long time if possible.

I still believe they will reveal it like they did with V.

Reveal it with a simple twitter message or dropping some teaser on YouTube.

This is out of the blue, but I've been playing some GTA 4 again with heaps of mods installed, graphics mods, textures mods, vehicle packs and I just wanted to say that DAMN, I don't think any other GTA city/setting has ever pulled off the lively bustling crowded feeling that GTA 4 has. It just feels alive and feels like the real NYC, it's unbelievable. It's oddly specific but if you replace taxi cars with their real life counterparts the game becomes indistinguishable in some cases from real photos of NYC. IDK why I wanted to say that, probably because of all these riots going on and I miss my trip to NY when everything was peacful. Also I'd love to see LC come back to GTA in next gen graphics and more stability.

I'm playing it now aswell. Thank god that it was set in modern day so I could update it with current cars. Feels like a new game.

So what? you think no one will buy GTA VI just because there's no modern cars?

I'm sure there are those who will be less enthused. But there are also those who feel the same about another modern day setting. GTA VI will sell regardless. And shark card sales will be through the roof yet again.
