The actual chart should look like this. Ignoring GTAO is laughable considering by now it has enough content to be a standalone game. It feels weird to say but GTAO is this generation's GTA.

It doesn't matter if we like GTAO or not, it is a constant source of revenue which provides Rockstar the leeway to fully realize their lofty ambitions and make something like RDR2. (I personally like GTAO to an extent, current heist update brought me back after I stopped playing in early 2018 but it could've been so so much better, sigh)

Also GTAV's current gen and the superb PC port were no generic efforts neither.

Can't wait for Thursday. Looking forward to PS5 games really hope whatever Sony shows is good and actual gameplay not teasers or trailers. But it could end up just like that Xbox event.

I do wonder if any R* employees lurk here and read all this threads ( They would be crazy not to pay attention to a almost 800k members forums regarding their games ) and what they think about people biting off their nails waiting for the next GTA announcement. I also do wonder do they take any notes of feedback from the forums when the chunk of people say something should be better and so on.

They do. Ask the mods. They tipped them off about possible RDR2 leaks years ago.

I have participated in all the live broadcasts of XBOX One. There was no Rockstar among the partner developers.

I remember being a junior in high school and watching the Xbox one reveal in class in 2013. We didn't care about that particular class lol. It was a day or two later that I decided I'd be on PS4 this gen.

Since we know Rockstargames is likely to continue modern time GTAs to finish the HD Universe GTA 4 has started.

Do you believe its likely going to be GTA 6 Vice City set in 2020?

City Morgue has a hellish vibe and so does 2020...

Either they finish up Dan Houser's modern time GTAs since GTA 4 with GTA 6: Vice City or Strauss will push a GTA6: Vice City Online set in 1980 and push DLCs according to time up to 2020

That would be great, i miss a Mafia-like game ever since Mafia 2, Rockstar would be the perfect dev for it.

With RDR I think they're only gonna make one more game for the series and just leave it as a trilogy. They could pick up Jacks story again but for me anything past 1914 completely veers away from what RDR is IMO - best thing for a third game would just be to go back further in time when the west was at its peak and still popping.
