Pete Hines: Given the many challenges we’re facing due to the pandemic, we will not host a digital showcase in JUNE. Summergamefest will last until the end of August. Also, PCGAMER wrote this article in April. Summergamefest released Phase 1 in May.

Bethesda will be announcing/showing DLC for their various games, Fallout 76, TESO, Doom, etc.

 

Don't expect lots from a lot of these studios participating, many will just have small things to show. Blizzard will most likely be leaving anything juicy for Blizzcon, for example. EA and Ubi both have their own shows this year as well.

 

As with every event, E3, Gamescom, PSX, whatever, everyone expects Rockstar to show up because someone is following Rockstar, Take-Two are attending or who knows what reason and yet, as inevitable as the sunrise, the event comes and goes with no Rockstar news.

I mean like this video or other similars, but this is the oldest one that I have found and recorded by a capture card, this one was uploaded on the 14th of september, 3 days before the launch, but yeah that´s very close to the launch date like the R* intro one

I think you should stop mentioning Summer Game Mess and possible Rockstar connection. There is just no way they would use a freshly-announced, mediocre E3 alternative to reveal the next title. And they clearly won't use the show for it, thank God.

There is definitely a connection with Rockstar. New DLC or GTA VI.

What's funny is that Rockstar can spend $0 on marketing by just doing a single tweet, and the game would be still on everyones lips during Summer Game Fest.

They can't remaster it again due to XSEX's Smart Delivery and PS5's backwards compatibility,  it'll just get graphic updates, or better yet, 60 FPS.

GTA is a brand.The audience coverage is incalculable.People who are not interested in gaming entertainment, still heard about the abbreviation GTA.Three letters changed the world of entertainment in 2001..Of course, they don't need ads,but they will do ads like they did with GTA V. I believe that the marketing of such a project should be at the level of the end of the world in 2020.And those people who never knew about GTA, let them write these lines in Google after they see these posters, pictures on the screen, an image of a beautiful Mexican woman on a TV screen,a tall building somewhere on the main street of new York .This is walking along a pedestrian crosswalk, seeing a poster and only then realizing..Wait, what is this??This is the new GTA VI.. Winter is coming soon, and it will be announced soon

GTA IV's marketing was similar in size, they covered whole buildings with Niko's wanted posters and GTA IV logos. They have money to burn.
