My guess is that R* has been using Online to see what content gathers most players. You've probably seen that the number of players spikes around the release of updates. And you've probably also heard the last update set a new record for them.

 

So if for R* that means Chinese content is a hit it would seem natural to add it to the game. Because the game is already sold to the fans, R* doesn't worry about that, it's gonna sell like hotcakes. But if they want to expand their market, the Chinese market could prove very lucrative. I've also seen this for movies (Michael Bay for example).

 

But anyway this is very much on the wild guess side of speculation so only time will tell.

I am currently watching a netflix series about the assassination of Gianni Versace. Really catches the 90s Miami and atmosphere if you guys are still looking for gta related stuff to watch.

I really hope they let us get into every house.  Each time I'm in single player or GTA Online and I see all these amazing houses, I just wonder what stories they could contain.  I want to open the door and either rob the place, sneak in a closet and watch what happens, scare the maid or have my way with her.  I know there is a technical limit to what they can do but to be able to enter every house and have a unique story in each would be fantastic.

   You know, for the first time I heard the words "If the company has worthy competitors, then this will help it to make games better to keep the audience" (This was about minecraft and hytale) about a year ago and now, these words can regain meaning.
   In 2020, Watch Dogs Legion comes out (I'm not sure, but it seems that way) - already, although not strong, but competition (in the genre of action and open world), the Twitter account Mafia begins to teaser something (Not quite competition, but again), in the fall, Cyberpunk 2077 comes out (already serious competition), and GTA online is slowly being blown away, some fans are starting to get bored. Although GTA5 is in the top of the sales, but the old players gradually merge and start demanding a new one, it seems to me that this creates, if not conditionS, then one condition for sure, regarding the release of GTA6 in the near future and its good quality.

This is very wrong. GTAO is constantly pulling very high sales and player count across all platforms. All it needs is a next gen patch with a steady flow of content and boom, R* will be able to milk it till 2022-'23 easily (If they wanted to).

And Cyberpunk is almost nothing like GTA. It's an RPG first and foremost. From what I've seen it looks like Deus Ex in open world.

How many of them are new players? How many old players actually stick around? Some guys just play whenever a new DLC drops play it for a few days then move on to something else. Eventually it will get to the point where people stop caring for the new online DLCs if it hasn't already.

Yes, content brings back players. For the record I stopped playing GTAO in 2018 and came back to do the Casino Heist and now I'm out again. But the game is still charting consistently worldwide even beating new AAA releases. New players are still joining in. SteamDB shows like 150K-200K logging in GTAV every day (I know RP is big in PC).

All I'm saying GTAO still has 1-1.5 years of steam left easily with steady content updates and fall 2023 being the worst case scenario (in alternate words the most plausible, I'm still sticking with fall 2022) for GTA6 it's a win-win for Rockstar.

Ubisoft itself is a huge disappointment considering its company size in the gaming industry. I'm saying this without ever skipping one AC, Tom Clancy's and Watch Dogs. Sam Fisher was good, Black Flag was good (and the prior games) and that's all. The Division was interesting, it brought something new in the genre but it was all rinse and repeat with heavily downgraded graphics, just as the Watch Dogs series so far. Not to mention Ghost Recon Breakpoint and the predecessor: pure sh*t and joke at its finest. I'm speaking about the way they implement and handle the overall technical background, not gameplay-wise. Again, I played all of them to an extent where every Ubisoft fan just got bored, abandons the game and moves on. Ubisoft will never be comparable to Rockstar Games or any of its titles. I still hope this year's Valhalla will show some innovation and a good story and I will buy it no matter what, I love the AC-series.

That's why it will never get better because people like you will buy it no matter what and it's one of the reasons why many modern games simply suck.

I don't get the obsession with big ass maps. You get a huge ass map but there's a lot of useless space yeah it's big but do you really visit every corner of the map? No.

Yep and the city really hasn't going anything going for it apart from the main strip of casinos. Having LV as a stand-alone would never work. A city with only one interesting road will get boring real quick

Stop saying that. 1970s Las Venturas plus the desert would make an amazing game. Maybe add another city (like San Fierro) to make things more dynamic.

 

Way better than modern day Vice City aka Los Santos 2.0 (like some people around here are asking for).

The only thing those cities got in common is Palm trees and a lot of spanish speaking people
