Bashing YouTubers and making the topic about it (or any other kind of antagonism) will net you a warning for derailing the topic.

Please use some common sense too while discussing subjects, don't delve too deep into speculating about people's personal lives (e.g. Houser departure from R*, Rockstar developers, etc.) as they deserve privacy and not a raging fan forum to make up things about them. Needless to say, any hate will be quickly nipped in the bud.

my best guess is that there will be an announcement this year saying that it's being worked on...as for the trailer and official announcement that could be a good year maybe 2 years away then the game releases the following year. That is how Rockstar has done it and I believe that is how they will continue to do it

as a mediocre Script writer (for tv/movies) my guess is that the Script and Voices are already done...as for the rest idk if that is done yet or not...but if it's not at 60-70% completion then it is at least 50% completed...cause they needed to get the Script done, storyboards and of course the Voice Acting done as well....the movement and editing and the other stuff are the other 50% and will take more time

Besides radio DJs, and in game commercials, etc. they don't really do voice acting. It's all performance capture. Even conversations in a vehicle. And for GTA V & RDR2, it was ongoing. They worked for 5 years doing performance capture on RDR2. So, it's not like another game where VO is done at the end, or in a short space of time after a script is finished.

that makes sense...I have no idea how Game Scripts are done...that's the only down side...but getting that little piece of info on how it could work helps me understand from a script writer point of view

oh and don't forget they could go through like 30 to 40 different scripts before they set their eyes on the one they want as well....so that just adds on the amount of time and how long until release (which they might've already decided by now

Hey partner ! I write and direct tv commercials as well !

We shouldn't worry for the performance imo since its a continuous process. If you remember RDR 2 lasted i think around 8 years. And we also have some resumes mentioning Gta Vi as early as 2016 i think. Only troublesome thingie to worry about is the the studios can't work in New York right now so the motion capture proccess is kinda frozen. However i can imagine that it's not that proccess that takes the most time , meaning they could use that time to still move on with the game.

false Rockstar Toronto can take over for the Motion Capture cause Canada is not in Quarantine right now. However with that being said...the people doing the Motion Capture who is going to Canada has to stay quarantined for 14 days before they can go to the studio

My thoughts, 2021 announcement, 2023 release.

They don’t need 2 years for marketing anymore, the game will probably be announced like the year before my prediction is announced this fall and release late next year

Yeah to be honest now with Gta and RD online the marketing cycle can be tighter. I said it before when they announce Vi people might not buy those sharkies as much or they might hold off . So you would want a smaller announcement/release window this time around. Don't forget Rdr2 window was originally 1 year.

Dan Houser and the The P✝️ grumbling in the background (seat No. 46 and 49 [2 meters due to social distancing]):

⬇️

⬇️

*creaking from the subwoofer under the stage intensifies* 🔊🔊🔊

everything you see from Rocksteady fades out [[ !RIGHT AWAY! ]]

somebody appears on the stage --> you can't clearly see him, it's too much purple hue and smoke

... BUT you can clearly hear some music

HOLY sh*t IT'S ABEL TESFAYE, HE'S GOING 🔴LIVE !!!!

I have a (admitedly crazy) suspicion that the next GTA will have heavy Chinese influences, mostly based on the fact that the last two updates for online focused on Chinese side characters. So i'm expecting a lot of content involving the chinese stuff like Chinese gangs, maybe a mission where you travel to China like in V or San Andreas, or hell maybe even a Chinese protagonist (return of Huang Lee perhaps?).

My guess is that R* has been using Online to see what content gathers most players. You've probably seen that the number of players spikes around the release of updates. And you've probably also heard the last update set a new record for them.

So if for R* that means Chinese content is a hit it would seem natural to add it to the game. Because the game is already sold to the fans, R* doesn't worry about that, it's gonna sell like hotcakes. But if they want to expand their market, the Chinese market could prove very lucrative. I've also seen this for movies (Michael Bay for example).

But anyway this is very much on the wild guess side of speculation so only time will tell.

I love how you people use shark cards as an argument. It has nothing to do with GTA VI, as a matter of fact, rarely anyone interested in VI buys shark cards. I am grinder and never bought any shark + they are expensive.

I am also a grinder and never bought a card but its not about me and you. They have millions of players if at least 10 percent even less buys some kind of card, its still extremely profitable. I think that its a good argument and a good reason to have a smaller window between announcement and release.

Adapting the game for the Chinese market would come at a cost. GTA V to my knowledge isn't even approved for sale in China, it can only be acquired through VPN's and stuff I think.

They're not as strict as they have been in the past but getting something like GTA on shelves in China would be difficult.

Getting any videogame on the shelves in China is difficult rn if I remember right. As far as I know now they examine games one by one and the approvals are frozen now. Ones that have a possibility to connect online are instantly banned unless they are affiliated with a Chinese company like Tencent.

So I’m guessing that means no Wuhan virus will be present in-game?

GTA 6 seems like it will be a "smaller" product than GTA V and RDR 2 in terms of initial content

so i doubt it will be the same 2 year wait from announcement

Because R* Is always right. Sure they're taking an extremely long time to make a game you funded, just suck it up and be grateful!!

It's beyond my imagination how you can call your studio Royal Circus Games

Royal Circus is a place in Edinburgh that’s probably why.
