Bashing YouTubers and making the topic about it (or any other kind of antagonism) will net you a warning for derailing the topic.

 

Please use some common sense too while discussing subjects, don't delve too deep into speculating about people's personal lives (e.g. Houser departure from R*, Rockstar developers, etc.) as they deserve privacy and not a raging fan forum to make up things about them. Needless to say, any hate will be quickly nipped in the bud.

Well the Mafia Twitter account just tweeted for the first time in 2 years. Since that series is published by Take-Two, I don't think we'll see anything today.

They're working on Mafia 5 with skipping the sequel 4 due to Trump administration. Number Four means 4-year presidential term and it's kind of an unfortunate number.

If they were to announce GTA 6, it would've probably happened 30 mins ago assuming their usual newswire post time.

there was a leak claiming mafia would be announced in may and that it was going to be a mafia 2 remastered.

The official Mafia twitter making a tweet, but that's not really an announcement, more of a teaser that they are going to announce a new game (or remaster/remake) soon.

Take Two might not have that much control over the creative content but they do have on marketing/announcements

(Gotta have something on the stock fiscal year outlook)

 

They are not going to allow two of their games marketing campaigns intersecting negatively (one taking spotlight from other)

 

Additionally I would guess this day really could have been something for VI but because things change (delay?), they switched today for their other upcoming Mafia title

Agree but don't forget the scale and the importance of a Gta announcement. I don't think you can compare any other game to Gta in terms of hype. 

 

However yeah they wouldn't want to destroy mafia by announcing something Gta related, nobody would give a damn about the new mafia title . Still its Rockstar so you never really know.

Damn those times were brutal... I remember expecting a Gta V announcement after Rdr only to get Max Payne 3 related stuff . I was holding my breath everytime the posted to the Newswire and they always posted some stuff about Max Payne 3 clans or crews or something like that. 

 

Then they dropped that Q and A were they killed my soul by saying that for the time being they don't have any Gta related news...

 

Almost 1 month later BOOM .. they tweeted GtaV along with a timer for the trailer. The rest is history ( it was a slow 12 months before we would get a second trailer though . But at least we knew its coming.. )

The reason for GTA VI not being announced right now is the incredible sales numbers. If announced now, people will wait for GTA VI and will stop buying GTA V. Rockstar Games will sell as much GTA V as it can sell. GTA V will come to an end when new generation consoles are released because GTA V will not be released on next gen consoles. So it would be ridiculous to expect the GTA VI announcement right now. The most likely is the fall of this year. (As new generation consoles are released)
