What conclusions am I drawing, other than they know how they run their operation and follow a certain pattern for a reason to protect it?

 

I echoed the point of others, expressing that anything can be said to maintain an agenda or marketing plan.

 

Red Dead series reliably takes longer to go from SOP (2006, 2012-13) to announce+show a trailer (2009, 2017), compared to GTA, where barely a year passes between start of full production (2006, 2010) and announcement (2007, 2011). That correlation can be made.

 

There hasn't been a new GTA title in 6.5 years so I have nothing else to go off of. Why wouldn't I reference the last example from 8 1/2 years ago, which had been mentioned previously.

 

Seems pointless to even go there, as that was clearly not the focus of what I stated. They typically announce 1 year out and then roll with any delays, which is 1 year at worst.

to be honest, I don't know about ya'll but i expected a smaller game after RDR 2...i didn't think R* would jump straight into GTA 6

Well, GTA: San Andreas was 24 mins and IV and V we’re both 48 mins. So maybe they’ll add even more too it.

If GTA 6 is a next gen only game (which I think it will be), then Rockstar is in no rush to announce the game this year. As we've seen GTA:Online is still a powerhouse, and RDR 2 is gonna age really well. I think if RDR 2 has some graphical upgrades like RT support and higher resolution, it will be a better 'next gen' game than most of the early titles releasing coming generation. Look at GTA 5 compared to early PS4 titles, apart from the resolution and framerate GTA 5 on PS3 could stand it's own compared to PS4 titles. 

 

My prediction is that we will see a next generation upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 in spring of 2021 or so, add ray tracing and some other next generation features. This will allow them to test new engine features too. I think quite a few people will replay the story again and try a more matured Red Dead Online. Then either late 2021 or late 2022 we will see an announcement for the next GTA title.

It needs to be longer IMO. I think they should double it to 96 minutes - I just feel you cant appreciate specific times of the day like sunsets etc. with a 48 minute daily cycle. Many people complained about this in RDR2 as well. Perhaps they could look at letting us choose how long the days are in the settings tab.

 

Also I think we should be able to specifically choose what hour of the day we get up up when saving game/sleeping.

Yeah 96 mins feels right. And hopefully they continue the feature from GTA V where you don't have to show up at a specific time of the day in order for the mission to start. The time lapse right before the mission starts is nice.

The only thing he says maybe is that GTA VI developement seems to be started since 2014-2015, and Bully2 was started too until summer 2019 where it was stopped.

I don't really think that Rockstar even started the development of bully 2, or even thinked about starting the development of bully 2

I don't think it's unrealistic to think that bully 2 has been in development (or still is).
The games that come out are only the tip of the iceberg, many games that never came out were created by rockstar, you can realize this by reading the curriculums of the developers, in which they say they have developed games that have never been released.
