This picture is from 2014. It literally says SniKCers instead of SniCKers. It was an ad campaign and now it's just a coincidence.

Even though its likely all bullsh*t , I will say that, that would be my dream GTA. Honestly I don’t feel like Rockstar could top that level of fiction he wrote. I’d buy it twice.

That’s when you can tell a leak is fake. When it sounds more like a wishlist and not an actual leak, then it’s most likely just a wishlist.

No seriously Im like 55% sure I’d rather his fake wishlist than Rockstars final product. I mean sh*t many of the wishlists for V were better than V itself lmao. Some people should go into the book industry.

The IV characters in V. V's characters were soo bad they had to bring in people from IV. Unfortunately V ruined them too rip Johnny.

I really wanted to *comment* more in-depth on this page/thread, but I'll just keep it simple.

 

Bear in mind that they did lie about GTA V in early-mid October 2011, yet announced the game on October 25 and released trailer November 2, 2011.

 

How long do you think it was in development by that time? How long was it in full production? When did they intend to release it?

 

Answer those questions for yourself and then you'll have an idea of what really early development is and if you're being BSed.

we will get the logo and the formal press release announcement followed by a short trailer detailing the world, where we get a glimpse of the protagonist who will say a few words, 

 

we won't get a full reveal of the protagonist until about a year later then

Except, I think they’re going a different route this go-around. I know over the years, the multitude of delays that have plagued their recent releases. I see them backing off for longer during the development to make an announcement. With past GTA announcements they did so at a time where they were somewhat earlier on In development, ultimately proving too soon as they needed more time for “polish” as the famous word goes. I see in the future for R* smaller gaps in between announcement and release.

I liked IV and V but I think they went too arcadey with the driving mechanics/physics.

 

Didnt enjoy Vs story either.

Wow, this is written like someone scoured this EXACT thread and just condensed everything that has been speculated for the past few pages. Even the possible timelines of development we came up with. I think I see some of my posts as well as a couple of other members post in here lol. Either that or we were right on the money.

And as I expected, r/whoosh for many people. Rockstar were able to go from start of full V production in late 2010 to trailer 1 on November 2, 2011.

 

How long did that take? 1 year basically. When did they intend to release it? Late 2012 as of that 2011 showing, so 1 year out. It got delayed by 10-12 months in total to Sept. 2013 and wrapped ahead on Aug. 25th.

 

V formal planning began over the course of late 2008-early 2009 as PC port and Lost & Damned were coming out.

 

They do not deliberately show trailers 2 years ahead, it's just a casualty of delays.

 

This game is definitely not in early development, but in terms of full production with recording motion capturing, etc? I believe it is in early production, but "early" depends on the timeline they're working with.

 

The game will be announced one year at 18 months ahead of intended release.

 

Typically with new console releases (excluding V), first trailers are shown 4 months after PS console releases. March 2021 comes to mind, for March 2022.

 

Dan Houser left over something and whatever that something is...9 out of 10 has to do with VI I imagine and per NDA/fiscal/personal interests, he's not spilling his discontent.

bear in mind that was in 2011, 9 years have passed since then

it's such a time gap that no conclusions should be drawn from the past

but we can agree it's in development
