Bashing YouTubers and making the topic about it (or any other kind of antagonism) will net you a warning for derailing the topic.

Please use some common sense too while discussing subjects, don't delve too deep into speculating about people's personal lives (e.g. Houser departure from R*, Rockstar developers, etc.) as they deserve privacy and not a raging fan forum to make up things about them. Needless to say, any hate will be quickly nipped in the bud.

That was just multiplayer. There's a discernible difference between multiplayer and an ongoing Online mode.

There’s not really a difference. GTA 5 Online is just more improved because it’s a later game

Then don't play it. Try other games, different genres.

I really wasn't a CRPG guy before but after playing Disco Elysium I became interested in it and played through Tyranny,  Baldur's Gate 2 and Divinity : Original Sin 2 and they are fantastic games. Try different games, you won't regret it.

That's what I already do, I play a lot of different stuff.

I was just saying that I was worried about GTA VI being a mainly multiplayer game bacause I've no interest in GTAO

Rockstar still haven't patched GTAV for Pro and X while GTAO is this much popular

This is the reason why I don't think it's possible Rockstar would re release GTA V on next-gen or even update it for those consoles. They're backwards compatible. Any update would likely be by Sony/Microsoft, much like how some OG Xbox & 360 games get the X1X enhanced features through the back compat patching. Even RDR2 will be 2 years old by the time next-gen releases, not even accounting for potential delays. PS4 Pro also released 2 years after GTA V on PS4 and didn't get updated. Don't hold your breath.

Well there is a significant difference. GTA IV was just a few gamemodes, co-op modes and free roam. GTA Online is a persistent world where you can live in that world, rank up own property, start businesses, etc. There's a reason why Rockstar called it Grand Theft Auto Online. Not Grand Theft Auto V Online, or Multiplayer. It's very very different. But sure, on the surface it looks the same.

Perfectly valid reason to be worried and sometimes I think in that way too but we just have to wait and see how all this sh*t plays out.

Word on the street, RDO is basically clinically dead and it will only get worse unless they put out a killer update like heists or something.

Word on the street is there's an epidemic going on and people are dying. Maybe forgive them if any potential updates are slow or delayed...

That's the exact reason why I think RDR2 wouldn't be released in next gen consoles another reason being the PC version, which alreday exists.

I believe the publishers have to give Sony/MS green light before they start enhancing the games, right?

Economy is crumbling due to the pandemic. The developers are working remotely so even if any update was planned it would get delayed for atleast a month or two.

For backwards compatibility, yes. I don't think the enhancements do, though.

It's not a matter of when, we all understand that. It's a matter of it even existing.

Well, I'm not a Rockstar dev and my father isn't also but I do believe an update is surely being prepped.

Side note, @Len Lfc you knowing more about how R* tends to operate, ya think after VI trailer releases, they will once again (like with V) starve us for a half year and then give us some scraps (= 2 screenshots)

I guess it really depends on the state of the game when it's announced. If they do indeed intend to release a moderately sized game, and build on it. Perhaps they may release it sooner after announcement? Or if they're waiting for next-gen consoles to be revealed/released first, I don't know.

But as of right now, I still expect the same general schedule, yeah. At least this time, after GTA V & RDR2 we should expect it and be prepared 🤷‍♂️

Deliver this deliver that. Kill the enemies before the drops. Blablabla

My main problem with online is that none of the sell missions are solo friendly. If I could sell a full MC business or Bunker by myself I’d play it a lot more. Its just tedious trying to make good money solo.

I think the majority of people wants solo friendly businesses, I really hope Rockstar focuses on that in the next Online.

We've had a 'leak' of interior scouts in miami that looked pretty legit, we know for sure that a collab is coming between rockstar games & rap group city morgue this summer.

Interior scout is legit, but the letter that leaked is fishy. Not confirmed. She (interior scout) only said in podcast (which is interesting) that she worked for digital media company and that she signed NDA. Nothing more.

They are solo friendly if you sell in smaller quantities.

Crates are solo friendly most of the time, except when you have 10 crates to deliver with plane and npc helicopter attacks you and destroys your cargo. I would like to see more solo friendly missions so i can without any worry of how i will sell all those stuff, fill up the storage.

Technically it’d be GTA online 3.

No. Rockstar didn’t even promote the GTA IV multiplayer that much, they just shipped it in a barebones fashion with the game.

How come? You can get a lot of enjoyment out of GTA Online. It’s fun playing with people from around the world..

I get it, what you think is fun is different from what I think is fun, but it should be easy for anyone to recognize that GTA Online has become a formulaic fetch quest and delivery simulator when they introduced the CEO update.

———————————————

• Buy a box, or three, of illegal goods.

• Arrive at location

• Things go wrong and you must fight against the time limit and armies of aimbot npcs.

• Successfully reach your base in time or get destroyed by someone who no longer has to work a second job in a videogame.

• Assuming you succeeded, after doing this enough times, you just might make back 1/10th of what you spent by delivering this trash to a faraway location. That is if the game doesn’t screw you over or someone else destroys you, again.
———————————————

The above formula applies to CEO, Bikers, Gunrunning, Import/Export, Nightclub, and Smuggler’s Run. The fetch-quest and delivery simulator aspect is true for everything else, and the gameplay only ever felt somewhat fresh when the Heists update came five years ago.

And then we have the ridiculous missions with the new casino heist, which seems awfully grindy and unfairly difficult with bulletsponge ultra-accurate high damage-output enemies. This is also true for the Doomsday update, which truly represents what’s wrong with GTA Online, with overpriced explosive insured toys that harass those who try to play fair and punish those who dare fight back.

The game, in its current state, is objectively *not* fun. Not even with friends, unless if you have to take really far measures like setting up specific discord groups dedicating to isolate yourselves from griefers, taking each other’s names and all that, and abandoning the session once your measures get dismantled, which tells more than enough about how f*cking horrible the standard intended experience is. Can’t even play legit if Rockstar wants you to be a miserable lab rat who might succumb to buying a shark card.

That would actually mean that the game delays are planned (which is what I suspect anyway)

There are ways to get around it depending on what platform you’re on

There's strong evidence to suggest it's not. I know we all love Rockstar, but they're not the most competent developers out there. And their games are ambitious. Maybe they higher ups know or expect/plan delays. But the actual employees have said things to suggest the delays were real

You'll have to dig, but his tweets around that date are quite interesting. Sadly, they aren't all part of that one thread.

indeed. and i guess most people doesnt even have lots of friends that plays it, like i dont... i rarely go into online to tune some cars and sh*t, and then months without playing. game itself is kinda boring (like ive ranted over physics and sh!t 5000 times before), and with everyithing else going on, griefers and futuristic bullsh*t ruining the game.. i rather dont play it.
gta next (online) maybe awesome , but it may be a sh*thole gta:online version 5 times worse and microtransaction focused money grab saints row copy.
at least hoping that physics makes sense and gameplay is fun. so we can have fun and play some online alternative like fivem if we want, without getting bored of both...

Don't forget the setup before you can even start!

  • Buy ridiculously expensive business (Office, Arcade, Nightclub, etc). Don't want to? Prepare to get spam called every second from characters you don't GAF about pestering you until you give in!
  • Bought the cheapest one because you don't have $3 million to spend on getting a convenient location? Too bad for you! Have fun travelling across the entire map EVERYTIME.
  • Thought you could begin right away huh? Wrong! Sit your ass down at this laptop first and-- OOPS looks like you're in a private session, silly! You have to be in a public session in order to continue!
  • There we go. Public session. Time to start. What's this? Oh right! You need to do a setup mission in order to start your business! Enjoy driving into the city to pick up the slowest truck in the world and then having to go all the way back! Did we forget to mention that your position will be revealed at all times once you begin your ride back? Hope you're not playing solo!
  • That was hell. But you did it! Now you may enter the laptop and start earning money!
  • ... Until you realize you have to BUY WAREHOUSES TOO.

Each and everytime I did this I lost interest long before I ever made my money back.
