I have a theory that Jason comes out and says stuff like “GTA 6 is in early stages of development” to force reputable leakers to come out and spout some truth. We wouldn’t have got such information from Yan if Jason had never said that.

It may not be that outlandish. It also may not be that telling. I've heard that the push to get a project from 80 to 100% complete is the most difficult and labor intensive part of the development cycle. The final 30% could take three years for all we know (which is exactly nothing).

My thoughts right now:

 

We've had a 'leak' of interior scouts in miami that looked pretty legit, we know for sure that a collab is coming between rockstar games & rap group city morgue this summer. 

 

Early development statement can be taken in so many ways, this interview could have taken place 1 week before publication but it could also have taken 20 years before publication.  Also the dev in the interview could be a dev part of a team that targets less bigger tasks and might be needed more in the later cycle of the development. Each dev is assigned to specific tasks, he could for all we know be a npc designer which is something you'll probably do at the later stages of development. While the map designers are the first ones to work. His personal ''crunch time'' could start later then that for other developers. 

 

Back to the collab and interior scout. This could very well mean that the exteriors are already done and that now the process for interiors has started which requires likely more work and detail. So the map itself might be already done for the major part and might need a little touch up here and there later on. I think its safe to assume that alot of the ground work is already there and the process for the finer things has started. (Meme companies, your typical rockstar humor, the radio station ads, billboards across the map, etc, etc).  City Morgue summer 2020 teaser is interesting, it fits the timeline of the gtavi.com site updates happening, something is being prepared. It's 50/50 in my eyes that either city morgue's music is being used for the first trailer of Gta 6, or the current gta is going to get another update in which their music will be added. Eitherway, i think its definitely GTA related at the very minimum. Their music does not fit the red dead redemption style, and bully 2 seems also unlikely to me. 

 

My timeline prediction is 

 

summer 2020, announcement trailer

late 2021 release / early 2022 release

That depends on who you ask. For some, it’s a hint placed on Casino Heist on the next GTA location (the word “service” is split for some reason). To others, it’s a picture of a spade and that’s it.
