I've been on the Rockstar site and noticed you can now report cheating there. It used to just say use the in-game reporting facility but now you can fill in a form and add a link to video evidence.

That is exactly what we've dealt with too, not often thank the gods, but R*  really needs to do their job and figure out what these children are doing to beat the game. The last few times that I've dealt with players like this I kept fighting them, and dying, simply because I wasn't aware of a glitch and figured they had some sort of card/tonic combo that was disabling my ability. Now that I know better, I'm just going to move on because there is no way to get to them.

 

And this is why I follow this thread, with hopes that someone can say that R* finally took their report seriously. Not because I feel it gives the poor kiddos any attention. But because it also saves me the time and the headache on trying to figure out the what the heck happened if I'm in the same situation. Now I know to shift servers and send yet another report.

Posts like these help other players understand the types of cheaters they may face in this game, and it gives them the ability to plan on how they will deal with the problem as they see fit.

 

Just going to throw this out there, but I mean to be honest, do these guys really get to be celebrities from these kinds of posts of them? Are there millions made, endorsement deals, Is there some sort of Oscars event for the RDR2 online cheaters? Lol, do they have some sort of secret society that praises them for being able to work around a game's mechanics so that they can play tough and beat their chests without fear of consequence? I might be old school, but if stuff like this makes someone feel that they have a better chance out there in the world, or they feel that people see them as something more than the insignificant little roach that they are, well they are sorely mistaken. Being invulnerable and overpowering in a video game doesn't really make anyone better, it's a game.  

 

 

Now I do have a question, does anybody else have a hard time for the parley option to show up when dealing with some of these types of players? I can be shot down by them without even firing a shot in their direction, and not even be given the top option to parley, all I can do is press charges?

Yeah. Sometimes no option shows, other times the other player/s know how to remove that cool down it adds. It's what set me off the other day, lol.

 

The game really need some love from R*.

I wasn't really expecting anyone to think I was actually asking a question that needed an answer. A bit like saying 'better to be safe than sorry don't think you?' But I see how it could have been misinterpreted as a question I was throwing out there.

 

And when I said there were no names I was talking about the video description. The fact that the cheater could not do a search on youtube for his name and have my short video appear.

 

It feels this thread is getting a bit derailed by people who just want to bitch and moan. I start the thread and put those videos up there so people would be able to share their own experiences and be able to recognise cheaters when they see them and just leave the session and don't give the cheaters as much satisfaction. If people want to bitch and moan about how Rockstar don't take reports seriously then there's another thread for that. I was trying to be helpful but instead just got a load of negativity. Maybe people are right that it's a pointless trying to report to Rockstar. It also seems that it's completely pointless trying to help fellow gamers because some are equally unappreciative.

This is a new one for me , I haven’t had this yet . We had a greifer who was able to still come after us after we parlayed , the parlay option came up every time he was still able to kill me not sure how he done it . I think he maybe started a mission we were in valentine so he had a few to choose from .

It could be to do with if they are in the middle of a mission or not. It's possible some griefers will start a mission before attacking so the parley option is no available. I think we have seen this but not for quite a long time because now we spend a lot of time in defensive mode.

Yeah, again I am sorry for my part on the negative side of this all, I really am. Just fatigued by how R* do and after a really bad return to RDRO, I did just react poorly. I want this game to thrive but It's just turning into another messy mess that R* themselves continue to show so little regard for gamers over, it's just something that irks me so much to have to suffer fools that compromise my gameplay and it's only gonna grow if GTA is any indicator.

 

Please don't feel that I don't appreciate any efforts from you or anyone here that is doing great things to help fellow players, though I can see how I was a bit stubborn with my responses that I came across as unappreciative. 

 

With GTA it's easy to ignore that side of the game as we have legitimate options to reduce the impact the cheats have and aside ignoring some content, we can just play our game, like I feel we should. Here it really kills the game dead and after this last 18 months, it's hot to a point where I'm not willing to give R* any more slack. 

 

RE: the videos, IMHO most of those that do these sort of cheats are very internet savvy and know where to look, be it here or the other sites that expose these things, and after seeing how in the 'best/worst messages' thread in the GTA section saw players using that thread to further their hate and stupid behaviour, I do feel for some it can be a badge of honour to learn they're behaviour is hampering others is all. But hopefully you're right and this just does good and helps rather than anything else. Anyway, thanks for the effort and fair response and I'm sorry for my part in any bad taste added.

I'm not trying to excuse Rockstar for the way they have handled issue in the game. Right now it is a complete mess but i think some of that has been caused by glitchers and the way Rockstar reacted to them. Around a year ago I was playing with some people who did the cougar glitch. I didn't do it myself but I know it involved selling the same thing over and over again at the butchers. As well as fixing the actual glitch I noticed that they slowed down how quickly you can sell thing. Now whenever you go to the butcher, Cripps, Madam Nazar or the catalogue the game slows you down after a certain number of transactions. That gets incredibly annoying. It's like they never even put anything though into it. Why slow you down when you're trying to fill up on ammo and tonics? Surely there's no exploit possible there. I'm pretty sure that a lot of other strange stuff we see in the game is caused by things to detect exploits going wrong.

You highlight a great point that I was making initially though, R* haven't shown to be wiping or anything regarding the widely known glitches since the start, lol.

 

It really us a shame as the further in we go, the more it all grows and the game gets more and more dictated by that all. Plus R* in GTA showed they'll warp the pricing and add daft stuff to bleed the glitched money too, lol. The whole scenario is troubling to see this year+.

It is odd that they will go and fix the wrong things. If they want to make the game better then they need to fix the things that actually affect people. If someone can make a million dollars by spending days at the butchers is pretty irrelevant. It doesn't make one bit of difference to my game if someone has a million dollars or a hundred. Sure they can buy more things than other people and dress in the most hideous outfits and live their time in Red Dead knowing their achievements are hollow and mean nothing and that there's no point taking part in most of what the game has to offer. People who glitch money are hurting themselves more than anyone else. Why Rockstar fix that stuff more than anything else is a big mystery to me.

 

I do hope that some people from Rockstar read forums like this and take away ideas from it. I haven't completely given up hope that they will fix some of the exploits along with lots of the other broken stuff in the game. If they don't then at least we can help fellow players by making it easier for others to recognise cheaters and not engage with them.

I totally agree @AmyStone. The money others have is no issue here, just the way R* show so little effort elsewhere more than anything. We see from the money patches that they're capable of so much more.

There have been bans on GTA. It's not like Rockstar never ban people. And if you look around online you can see they may already be banning people on Red Dead too. At least I'm glad I don't have a defeated attitude about the whole thing and willing to try.

No one has been banned from console for exploiting, it just doesn't happen. Sorry to burst your little bubble. You can catch a ban on PC a couple different ways but that's it.

This one is a pretty recent one for me so I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue or if I somehow broke my own character.   Which is possible because I still do not have weapons in cutscenes and R* is adamant that they do not know why.

You might be on to something there, all of the players that were able to do this started the fight in an area close to a mission. One was in Valentine between the butcher and that whiny "Boy".  The other one was in Tumbleweed, so it's very possible that they were in fact in a mission before they came after me. It sucks because Parley is the only way to get away from those fools if I just don't want to deal with their antics, and don't want to waste the ammo on them.

Their tags are in the video yes, but there is no way that they would know, even if they did a search for their name it wouldn't pop up because the name isn't in the actual title or the description that she posted. Sure they might happen to come by it if they are looking for video's on cheaters but even that is very unlikely.

There are a couple of things that frustrate griefers a bit when you have no parley option. First of all don't respawn straight away and wait for the the timer to run down on its own. That will leave them confused for a little while and they will maybe think you have left the session and be slower getting to you when you do respawn. As soon as you do respawn then change to defensive mode right away. Most grifers haven't put much time into the game and learnt to free-aim. That should buy enough time to get to a fast travel or just ride away.

Yeah remember that high ranked posse who attacked us in emerald, they had a sale in van horn but they were in emerald using explosive arrrows on us they were defo exploiting there sale . Luckily there was a free roam event popped up so used that to get out of there way . You could always go to the quick join menu and join a showdown then quit before it starts . 
 

Guess we will all just have to come up more inventive ways of getting out there way

I'll try that next time, I do love frustrating these players.

I forget about the quick join options, definitely going to keep that in mind too.

Came across my first cheater today. Started a Moonshine delivery then I see multiple dynamite being thrown at the wagon. Sure enough it was destroyed and the mission failed. He finally appeared back on the map and ate several shotgun shells without even flinching. The reticle didn’t even flash with each shot. I may as well have been shooting the air. It was a bit of a buzzkill for what was a fun session.
