Go defensive and use dynamite arrows and hang around fast travel to annoy back if desired.

This. I'll add that when going into a war zone, also load up on level II or III tonics. Dynamite arrow the idiots then fast travel or switch sessions. Do not get into protracted battles with the cheaters, it'll only deplete your ammo. (I've been saying defensive mode is broken / easily exploitable for months - R* get your sh*te together).

I feared this when defensive was introduced and it took a while, much longer than I thought, and I have been lulled into a slumber on the defensive issue since R* appeared to have gotten defensive somewhat right. This is the first I have seen defensive be truly exploited.

Spoiler

R* should remove all the dumb stuff they did to prevent griefing and give the pve people solo lobbies...and bring back all the awesome pvp that R* ruined when they adjusted all the proximity/abilities cards to appease the same group...it was a half measure and appeased no one really, all the PVErs still complain that they can be shot, and these same bums, beg for passive mode, a broken trash mechanic from GTAO....passive mode I think is "fixed" in GTAO until a glitch is found to exploit it as it seems to always happen.  R* ruined SB, made S&S worthless again, at least SB is again able to counter PIB somewhat, but SB is a shell, and unless you want around roll around with some crew all using PIB, the noobiest card of all, then you are at a disadvantage.  PIB should not even allow a shot until the little X is forced locked.  It should be a free aim inducing just like SB.

For instance, just now some level 62 spawn kills me in BW and what does he do, he runs to fast travel and teleports...but his profile is online, so I can check where he went and get revenge...then what happens parley...thats all anyone need imo, R* had it right to begin with, I mean they really didnt and parley should not be allowed if shoot a player first,...if the parley is glitched around just change lobbies.

Ahh well, it was inevitible that defensive mode would be exploited, and with how big the cheating/glitching to hamper players culture grew in GTA and on that other site with R* enabling so much, this game just had no chance of being twat free, lol.

Luckily the game is dead right now.

Online is becoming a distant memory, lol. I knew while playing GTA:O that it's likely to be a bit of a mess, but I didn't expect 18 months of a genuine farce like this has become. Tragic, but true.

Here's another one. Try to tell me this guy wasn't cheating.

I've been on the Rockstar site and noticed you can now report cheating there. It used to just say use the in-game reporting facility but now you can fill in a form and add a link to video evidence.

What you can’t see is I’m on amy right also shooting at him after he kills amy he runs at me and kills me . No blip on the map and no damage . This one didn’t activate dead eye .
this isn’t to bring light to there exploits, this is so if or when it happens everyone can understand what’s happening and jump parlay and defo report .

1 thing for sure . They won’t do anything if they don’t know who exactly is cheating and since she was clever enough to save The video giving actual proof not just one person word against an other .
I say well done let’s get these idiots .thank god we all don’t have a defeatist attitude

Not really, ten seconds of video is meaningless. Yeah, they're probably cheating, but that weak video "proof" is far from definitive.

Reporting on console is a complete waste of time anyways, no one gets banned or punished for using exploits.

That being said, if you want to waste your time on cheaters, go nuts I guess?  Maybe you can put them all into a hilarious compilation video.

Not in my opinion, wasted effort as we know R* just don't give two sh*ts. So why should we?

It's on R* to prove its worth and show us it'll work. Only been 7 years of following their guidelines for this crap and it's gotten ridiculous.

10 second video showing no damage no blip on the map yeah ur right it dosnt show anything .
agree reporting on console is useless but reporting directly to them might be different with a 10 sec video clip that anyone with half a clue can see what there watching is someone cheating .

It shows what could be an exploit, yeah. But it's not definitive proof. Not even close.

It doesn't matter how you report them, people don't get banned from console for exploits. Period.

You can't beat them, so don't give them the attention they desperately crave. Not that hard of a concept is it?

Who’s giving them attention. Amy simply letting other gamers know what’s going on is that such a hard thing for you to get your head around ?? Is it

almost seems to me your defending them constantly . You certainly seem to know what they crave . Me personally I thought cheaters were just bad gamers who had to cheat to get what they wanted didn’t think they wanted to be famous

I would call uploading YouTube videos and writing forum posts "attention" yes. Anyone with half a brain would.

You're just letting us know you got killed in Red Dead? Cool. Still a waste of time reporting it, which was the question asked in the first place.

If you say so. I don't do that petty sh*t, so, no, obviously, lol.

I've stopped playing because of this (and the game being broken), so if anyone's complicit, it's those that remain playing. I've zero interest in being forced to share a session with that type of player.

As I said, after years of R* telling us to report this or that however and quite literally nothing being done about it, it's about time they show it's worth to follow through with these actions and report, otherwise it is just wasted time. gtmike is spot on, it's pointless.

Well since you added this weird nonsense in, I'll answer it I guess.

I'm saying ignore them, there's nothing you can do. If in your mind that's "defending them" I really can't help you. They crave attention, yes. Why else would someone use exploits to kill other players? They might be "bad gamers", I wouldn't know, but it sure seems like they got one over on you...

Exactly Martin . And now if anyone on the forum encounter a player who off the map and won’t die they can react instead of giving these a**holes what they actually want cheap kills so they make there sad little life’s seem more important. That’s all this thread was about

Everyone who was still playing knew exactly who the hacker was that ruined RDR1 OL. It went on for years, was reported countless times and nothing was done. He may still be there or he's now working on 2 to see what kind of damage he can do here. He lives for it.

I've no issues having these problems being highlighted, though I do agree with gtmike tgat it does also give attention to attention seekers too often.

I just disagree that reporting helps or is worthy of my/anyone's time given R*'s history with their online games on these issues. After this long they need to do more to show it is, or folk should just let the game fall to the cheaters and those looking to compromise gamers out there.

I'd much rather learn of progress in this area and we can all just enjoy some fun and fair gaming as I want RDRO to be a good game for that, but along with other issues, it's just too much IMHO.

The man speaks true, IMO. But regardless of intention, it does give attention, and many that do petty things are attention seekers I feel.

As you said were simply highlighting a cheat that other genuine gamers will encounter. We’re no admiring them or putting them on a pedestal. If you or anyone thinks it’s a waste of time reporting them then fine don’t but least you can get out of the lobby away from the cheater not allowing them to have what they actually want a cheap kill

Well I think he’s missing the point of the post completely. I don’t disagree with you I’m not a psychologist I have no idea what goes on there tiny minds . All we’re saying is if u encounter a player like this in a lobby get out his way . And at the end of the day he dosnt have to follow the post

Yeah, if this does prove to help, great. Never against community efforts to help a fellow gamer, just I'm spent trying with this company on this area. It's just a real shame is all, just wish we had lobby choices as this type of thing was inevitible given GTA:O and the growth in this stuff there. Peace out. :)

If nobody ever did anything or reported anything then you can be certain nothing would happen. Reporting them means there a chance something might happen. I've never seen the player reporting option on their web site before and it used to use tell you to use the in-game reporting option. So now it's on the web site maybe they are taking things more seriously.

The short video clip might not be enough proof but it might be enough to make them look a bit more into what the player has been up to and then find more evidence against them. They might do a quick check to see if other in-game reports have gone against them. There have been bans on GTA so maybe they are going to start doing that on Red Dead. But I'm not going to just be lazy and sit back and let cheaters go unreported.

And that thing about giving them attention. Well they aren't really getting any. They will never find that video of themselves because their name is not mentioned anywhere. Maybe some others will watch the video and it will help them recognise cheaters themselves and rather than trying to fight them they will quite the session and give them less attention.

When did anyone ask if reporting cheaters was a waste of time anyway?

You did. Right here. I answered it above.

There's no point in having a discussion with someone who can't even follow their own posts, and is too immature to understand simple logic. Reporting does nothing, it's a fact. Anyone who's played Rockstar games for any length of time should know this.

Really? Lol In that first set of videos there's definitely names. Gimme a break, this is just childish nonsense at this point. I mean the whole topic is childish, but you've taken it to a new level here.

But you keep coming back with more comments with that bad attitude of yours. It seems you can't keep up with your logic either. If there is no point carrying on with the discussion then stop replying.

Their names do not appear in the video description so they would never search on youtube and find it.

There have been bans on GTA. It's not like Rockstar never ban people. And if you look around online you can see they may already be banning people on Red Dead too. At least I'm glad I don't have a defeated attitude about the whole thing and willing to try.
