sh*t man, too many that i cant count

90s was just a goldmine of creativity musically, and its a shame that the decade, especially the latter half of it, is often overlooked in media.

Anyway here are some industrial rock tracks that i really like from the period

Going to break the rules of my own thread and post an album. :sly:

Band: Stone Temple Pilots / Album: Core / Year: 1992

Believe it or not, this was the first rock album I ever heard at the mere age of 6 years old, all thanks to my grunge-loving father. Definitely one of my favourite rock albums of all time, especially considering it introduced me to the grunge genre which eventually sparked my love of hardcore punk. This album will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in peace, Scott Weiland. (1967-2015)🤘

Whenever 90s music gets mentioned, I always go to this song.

Mad coincidence, was listening to that yesterday. Actually I tried to skim through one of their albums to see what their music was like. Didn't really leave much of an impression but I loved this track as a kid and I think it really encapsulates the 90's so well.

Another Canadian outfit which I feel were in the same sort of ball park. At least it was released around the same time.

Part of my 90's growing up as a kid...

These tracks and album is quite underrated. It's complete change of music for U2. It's psychedelic, has weird samples and electronic sounds at the start and strange vocal processing. U2 started going in more conceptual albums having spent time in Germany and was working with legendary Dutchman photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn director of videos for the likes of Front 242, Depeche Mode, Nirvana and many many more. U2 spending time in recording in Berlin for Achtung Baby and being inspired by Kraftwerk and having Flood and Brian Eno produce this, became a rather unusual album along with a whole visual style for that tour/era.

"Zooropa is a song about uncertainty, uncertainty about the future of Europe after the fall of communism and the invasion of consumerism into Eastern Europe" - Bono

I used to listen to this when I was a kid and just came out in 1993. Was nice to be exposed to strange music. Before U2 became much more pedestrian in 00's.

From the same album they released this weird one-take video with The Edge speaking. It was pretty mental.

I spent over 2-3 weeks at least trying to find out the name of this track. I had heard it over 8 years ago on my brother's old 360 music library. Finally, I resorted to looking through a 90s' Spotify playlist until eventually I found:

Fuel - Bittersweet / Sunburn (1998)

Another song my young self remembers getting limited play on MTV back in the day. Legendary filmmaker, photographer Anton Corbijn directs this video again as he's done many videos for Depeche Mode. He makes a cameo at the start, he's the MC that introduces the band and f*cks up the name of the song. It was my first time (aside from knowing Just Can't Get Enough) of being exposed to Depeche Mode, especially the darker Depeche Mode. I remember not too long after this being at a 60th and some guy about 20 was saying how great DM were. I should check them out. I was only about or 14/15 at the time. Never properly checked them out for another 4 years after that and got hooked.

Algonquin Assassin

Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around (1994)

Whitney Houston - I will Always Love You (1992)

LeAnn Rimes - How Do I Live? (1997). Con Air made me fall in love with this song.:inlove:

I'm a sucker for 90s love songs just like the 80s. Probably would never guess they'd be my thing, but they helped me get through some tough times growing up when I just wanted to escape the madness of the world.

Standard Deluxe 59

"No Excuses" by Alice In chains.

"Mary Jane's Last Dance" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

"You Could be Mine" by Guns n Roses (I think that song came out in the 90's?)

Does the acoustic version of "Layla" by Eric Clapton count?
