Completing Portland Import/Export early (Starter)

How in the hell do you get some vehicles to spawn? I cannot for the life of my find Blista, Bus, Flatbed in Portland (haven't gotten Trashmaster/Securicar either but I know they exist). I tried the classic Firefighter/Vigilante method but none spawn, I've seen Mr. Whoopee about seven times so far, but none of the ones I need.

Every video I see says that it's entirely possible to fully complete the Portland I/O list before the first real story mission. I have done the supposedly hard vehicles like Dodo (flew over the bridge real easy) and Mr. Whoopee. I HAVE found the vehicles in Staunton but I have no clue how to get them to Portland. I try glitching through the floor on the tree southeast of the stadium but driving on the subway roof I clip through it halfway through and get stuck so that's no dice.

 

Google brings up nothing, searching this board doesn't give me much either. Any help?

Bus, Flatbed, Trashmaster and Securicar can be found in Portland. Search in Chinatown (near the bridge and Punk Noodles) and the Red Light District (the street where Ammunation is located all the way to the tunnel).

Blista doesn't naturally spawn in Portland but it can spawn as a burning car durung Firefighter missions and as a cirminal car during Vigilante missions. You have to be patient about it tho - sometimes one of the very first cars during Firefighter is Blista but sometimes you can spend half an hour until it happens. It's absolutely random If you can fly the Dodo you can get it from SSV using some of the well known methods to go to ShoresideVale.

Is there a vehicle I can drive to boost their spawn rates (other than the vehicle itself)?

I think that driving trucks should do the trick but I'm not 100% sure about that.

 

EDIT: I did a quick research into the default.ide file and I found out the following thing - these vehicles have the class "big", so I suppose that you can boost their spawn rate by driving a vehicle with the same class. Other vehicles with the class "big" are Linerunner and Coach (both of them parked very close to each other) - try driving with Linerunner since it's faster easier to drive.

You may also try driving a police car as that may lead to the Securicar taking less time to spawn. I heard of this trick and tried it myself, and it really worked, to my surprise.

Alright, I just discovered something which may have been obvious for anyone adept at GTA but which surprised me.

So, if you can find the vehicle in Staunton (or SSV), it's quite easy to get it to spawn shortly afterwards in Portland too if it can spawn there (talking about the very rare ones like Flatbed and Bus, especially on PS2/PS4).

1. Just park it in the Staunton garage.
2. Save. Reload.
3. Drive with the the vehicle to the east docks, abandon it and take a boat
4. Sail to Portland, get on shore (blow up the boat just to take it out of memory)
5. Get to nearby Greasy Joe's Diner, take the Linerunner.
6. Drive around Chinatown, your vehicles should spawn very quickly

 

I accidentally discovered this after trying (and failing) to get the Bus in Staunton underground. After a while I just gave up, drove it out of the garage to the docks and boats to continue missions in Portland. Took the Linerunner, drove around a bit and a Bus pretty much immediately spawned. Took all of about 15' to finish up my Portland I/O garage.

I think that this is too much effort to find a vehicle that spawns in Portland anyway. I only push Barracks OL from Staunton to Portland for the emergency vehicles crane and that's the only vehicle (besides Dodo) that I obtain from other parts of the city.
