Thanks, updated OP.

seems like a really significant update!

No fixes for the various graphical issues I've read about, but multiple fixes specific to SLI? I'm not complaining about fixes for SLI, but that is unexpected to say the least.

If this were announced yesterday I'd know exactly what to think, lol.

I have never encountered this bug at all. What settings is this?

My understanding is that train smoke is completely absent on any (particles?) setting above 'Medium', at least on one of the APIs.

The train smoke seems to disappear if you set the particle lightning quality to high-ultra.

Somewhat offtopic, but did they downgrade the visuals (broad, ik) recently? For some reason the game just looks...off. It might be because I havent played it for like two months but something just felt weird when I started it again today. Textures mainly I think.

GFX settings seemed to be the same as when I had stopped. Most settings are at high/ultra for reference, and I use DX12. Maybe Im just going crazy 😅

Any significant fix? Any introduced bugs?

I haven't seen any improvements, noticed alot of new bugs like there were no chickens or horses at john's place and the clock seemed to be stuck and didn't move, my character got stuck in the ground and camera was shaking.

No, you don't going crazy. The same scenario happened to GTA V, I still remember the first weeks of PC version of GTA V the game had a stunning draw distance, tessellation and textures then slowly with each update all of these things have been reduced. Maybe this is how R* optimized their games!

Do you have any examples of this? I played this game at launch on PC and I don't recall the draw distance, tesselation, or textures looking any worse than they

I don't want to go off topic but... I knew that there will be some guardian like you. I have digital copy of the game and I don't know how to downgrade to show you, about the draw distance, extended shadows distance doesn't work properly also take a helicopter or jet and during the flying watch the vegetation even some buildings how they pop up from low to high polygons at first weeks it wasn't like that! Tesselation is reduced especially on the land and on the rocks textures!

You can see the difference!

Not fired this up for a while, got a 700mb+ update and playing with Nvidia driver 445.87, it look like the water problem I was having in Vulkan Multi-GPU is finally gone :inlove::r*:

What's the name of that program for temp measurements?

I'm still using a pair of Asus Bios Ref 980ti's with full cover EK waterblocks and OC'd, thankfully R* still supports SLI/Multi-GPU 🙂

Glad they didn't leave Maxwell behind, they left Kepler behind even with the latest drivers.

I recently built a new system with an RTX 2080 Ti. I still need to install everything including Windows 10 on it. I might test RDR2 despite I gave up on it a few months ago.

I have to say I was extremely happy when R* fully implemented Vulkan M-gpu, I was going to pull the trigger on either a Ref 2080ti (with liklihood of getting a 2nd at some point later) or a pair of 1080ti's, thankfully been able to hold out for ampere which looks like it'll be announced at GTC on 14th May, but at what price/performance, I'll be expecting Maxwell to get the same treatment, but I have had 5yrs of heavy use out of them and was well worth the grand I paid for the pair on waterblocks.

RDR2 on PC is awesome visually, and obviously the campaign is another R* masterpiece

Your 2 GTX 980 Ti's served you well for a long time, that's impressive. If you can wait for Ampere, definitely get it and wait further for next gen or SLI it if that becomes possible. Much like the gap between GTX 1080 Ti and RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 3080 Ti should also have a big performance increase over its predecessors.

Yeah I got away with the 980ti's for longer than I expected, and even though I'm mostly gaming 1440p@60fps there's not really a lot of games giving them a seriously hard time atm, so I find it hard to warrant the costs of replacing them, but I'm definitely ready for an upgrade, cost of Ampere is going to be what makes my decision, affording things is one thing but warranting the expense is another, i'm not an fps chaser so I might just grab a pair of 1080ti's to see me through until I do a complete rig rebuild, as they'll suffice my gaming needs for a couple of years tbh, if the 3080ti goes out at around £800 I'll get 2 of them, but chances are they're going to be an absolutely idiotic price thanks to having no competition at the top end, I would go AMD but they (idiotically) no longer support using 2 gpu's and they have nothing to to compete with Nvidia at the top, and since they sponsor Ubisoft we no longer get SLI/M-GPU in Ubisoft games since FarCry New Dawn,  so f*ck them !!!

the 3080ti needs to be a massive improvement over the 2080ti as that had very little over the 1080ti by comparison to what the 1080ti had over the 980ti, Turing for the most part was dissapointing and grossly overpriced and even now not much supports RTX, (Minecraft and Quake II !!!!) but then again the RTX cores weren't powerful enough on the raytracing side to keep up with the traditional rasterisation performance, like pairing a Prius (RTX cores) up with a Lambo (GTX cores) and expecting the Prius to keep up, it just held the cards back with RTX on, hopefully they've got them equally matched with Ampere.
