The game will be released on ps4/Xo PS5/XSX after. The same way like GTA V I think. That’s how they won a lot of money and sold a lot of GTA V game. It’s just my opinion.

No way are they gonna do that. And let companies one up them and do everything better for the next 100 yrs until they drop another game? It would be so dated even by the time it releases.

A little, possibly. But i, as a big fan of GTA, would not buy a next gen console only for GTA, i would wait a while, and there are lot of people who simply can wait for the game. It's too much of a risk for them in my opinion.

Well, there's plenty of other reasons to get a new console. I think it's a risk they're willing to take since RDR2 already seems to be pushing the current/soon old gen to its limits. GTA VI might already be beyond the point where it could even run on a ps4 or xbox one.

Do you think they'll let you upgrade for free like CD is doing for Cyberpunk?

If they were to go with the same release strategy as GTA V, then the new game would need to come out right before the new gen, which is this fall. Not happening. At this point, I wouldn't expect it on the Xbox One/PS4.

I look at this way. Either 2021 cross gen or 2023 next gen.

But if they decide to launch it on PC right away, they could significally decrease the risk, but they also could earn less overall.

Did you guys like the idea that you get to keep your weapons after getting wasted or nah? Should losing your weapons after a visit to the hospital make a return?

It worked in previous games because there weren't as many weapons and there were more ways of getting them than just popping down to the gun shop. Losing 7 rifles, 4 shotguns, 10 handguns and 15 melee weapons after you die would get annoying fairly quick.

No. The release is probaly atleast 1-2 years away. GTA V was released before the "next-gen" came out, now GTA VI will come out after the new consoles (end 2020).

And btw, the optimization of the game would be a pain the a**, because RDR2 already have problems running on base PS4/Xo

I'd think 2022 Next Gen sounds more plausible.

I do believe GTA VI is going to be a Next Generation only title though, I just cannot see R* doing a Cross Gen Release, they always were about pushing their titles on the respective machines.

2023 next gen.

This is what I'm hoping for. If we're really really lucky, then fall 2022 but 2023 only on next gen would be sex.

I have a feeling the sun will rise tomorrow.

I think expecting an announcement during this conjuncture is only wishful thinking. Economy is on stand-by due to the Coronavirus (and it's effects will be felt even more during the fallout), that will affect possible pre-orders among other things.

I don't know guys but there are much more posts that point on april 4th.

I dont think so

Most hints point at tomorrow

Then April 3rd is on the second place

Then April 4th with one or two farfetched hints. Besides, it's Saturday so I doubt anything happening then.

I think they could go full "next-gen" in late 2022. 2 years should be enough for enough people to jump over. Though to help your argument GTA 4 wasn't released until 3 years after the Xbox 360 came out, so I obviously don't have a clue

Do you guys think they'll bring the weapon carry system from RDRII? As in you only can carry two large guns at a time and the rest was stored in your house. They could bring back personal vehicles from GTA V's story mode and guns could be stored in there.

I only would have see them releasing it for current gen if by chance it would come out this year. With the new consoles more than a year old by the time it will have come out (from an optimistic perspective) I just don't see them releasing it for the past gen. It just wouldn't be a right use of resources.

Cyberpunk is giving a free upgrade, but that game is what you call cross gen. It makes sense for them to do so, when they are releasing it half a year or so before the new consoles are released. If they did not, they would be facing bad PR and less sales because people would just hold out for the other version. Rockstar could have done the same with GTA V but to be fair there was more than a year gap between both releases.

Could be possible. I think the time where you could grab a whole rocket launcher out of your pocket is over.

They won't bottleneck the game by not making it next-gen, even it was to come out in 2021 it would still be a next-gen title. By 2022 most game devs will probably not even be releasing games for the PS4 and XBONE.

See this here is why GTA needs to include a realism mode and a classic GTA mode. So many people either want limited weapons, cops that follow traffic laws and having to sneak around for a couple days ducking the law because there still chasing you. The other side wants to keep the weapon wheel, speeding everywhere, blowing sh!t up, classic GTA chaos. Personally I'd prefer the first one but I know eventually I'll want to drive by some cops, pull a grenade launcher out of my pocket and raise some hell!

2023 next-gen is the most plausible I think. Wouldn't make sense to release it for PS4 in 2022 or 2023 since the PS5 will probably* be released this year or next.

I hope not but knowing Rockstar, theres a good chance it will. They've started becoming a lot more restrictive when it comes to player choice.

Expect an enhanced edition of Red Red Redemption 2 for next gen before GTA VI, so Im confident game wont come until late 2021.

I think any year post 2020 is a decent call. Consoles will have a decent base post that and will only continue growing. GTA would also help that process, it's a win-win situation.

2023 would mark 10 years between entries. That is just too much and very rare in series with multiples entries (with the exception of Valve, but Half-Life does not have as many entries). They would risk over exposing their player base to an increasingy stale product as well, not to mention that fully fledged next-gen games would also, eventually, take away a decent amount of their player base.

Huge risk from the financial perspective if they don't release it on PC right away. I think it's time to put the PC where it belongs and release GTA VI on PC along the consoles. I mean, that's Rockstar most annoying and outdated tactics.

2021 will be the initial release date

Then 1 or 2 delays as usual, and the final release in 2022

I don't see how they could enhance it more than this. Only adding Ray-Tracing but that's not going to happen since the game unitilizes it's own global illumination system.
