Yeah an experienced 3d modelling artist would be able to do it quite fast, and since the team is experienced in making dozens of these types of items I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal.

Why are we pretending that 3D characters exist in the HD universe? I still giggle at the people who thought the guy on the GTA V reveal trailer was CJ because he was black and wore a white tank top.

Those CJ ads on GTA IV and talks about GSF are just references/easter eggs/nods to the older games, but that's it. 3D Era and HD Era (and even 2D Era for that matter) have different timelines, with their own characters/elements/codes.

In my head canon I like to think that the 3D era exists as Movies/TV shows in the HD era. I kinda wish V had an arc with Michael in the movie studio where he finds the actor who played Tommy Vercetti who's now washed up and on drugs working a sh*tty job. Michael puts him in Meltdown and it revives his career.

That was more creative than 99% of the missions in the game

I don't want to put a downer on this because I'm sure it is, like all R* charitable activities, a serious and sincere effort that has been well thought-through. But in general we should be extremely wary when phrases like 'Covid 19 relief efforts' are used. What exactly does it mean? There needs to be more precision from the start. 

 

It could mean anything from the genuinely worthy, like helping victims of domestic violence at this time or donating PPE to medical staff in poorer countries, to the distinctly murky like making sure their business losses are offset or that it just goes to pay for things that would otherwise come out of the regular corporate budget.

 

So to repeat, I'm not questioning R*'s own donations because based on their track record I totally know they will do something very good with their funds. But in general, there needs to be more precision when terms like 'Covid 19 relief efforts' are used. Right now that sort of term is a total free-for-all. Dishonest entities thrive on that kind of loose language - especially when it is seen to be used by more reputable donors. It's like a 'get out of jail' card. They can all say that more details will follow. 

 

And also remember that if you're persuaded to buy a Shark Card now when you wouldn't otherwise normally do so, to help 'Covid 19 efforts', a filthy 95% of it still goes to T2 before the tax offset.

Yeah they love doing that sort of things. R* knows that us fans love those little callbacks/references and they can't help themselves doing it in each of their games. I'm sure GTA VI will have plenty of those aswell.
