From a business POV, that's a great move! They just announced that they will donate 5% to charity.

 

When they announce GTA 6 in the following days, more people will want to play Rockstar Games, resulting in more revenue for the company and also in more donations. 

 

Good PR and they get some money, on top of that.

They can and they will ignore them. Put simply, they won't announce a game that isn't ready to be announced because people "are getting sick of waiting". And people have been saying GTA Online will start losing players for years. But it keeps growing. Eventually, at some point that may happen. But you can't keep saying it and then say "I told you so" when it finally happens.

Just got to look at RDR2, Rockstar will announce GTA VI when it's ready to be announced. Doesn't matter if GTA Online is still popular or not. You only have a year and 3/4 to wait, I'd say.

Sadly GTA VI Online will be the same sh*t like GTA Online, since its a proven formula which will make them hundreds of millions of dollars in profit. I too miss the time when GTA didn't have flying bikes and wasn't saints row.

They know that nobody actually cares about the gator hat other than 0.1% of the player-base. How long would it take for a dev to create that hat in game, 5 minutes?

3D modelling isn't as trivial as it seems. It would probably take 1-2 hours for a dev to make it if not longer.

isnt CJ a millionaire in the HD universe? Or atleast famous ?

I have created 3D models myself in multiple high-end softwares. Creating a gator hat such as the one in RDR2 takes minutes. Obviously my "5 minutes" comment was an exaggeration, but it doesn't take very long...
