I wonder if R* will ever pull the plug on GTA. It would be interesting to see what would happen with videogames about 100 years later seeing how they are relatively new in mainstream.

If GTA keeps selling I doubt they'll pull the plug. The series may change most likely. But... I'm not waiting or getting worked up for a game that will come out 10 years after GTA 6 when I'm in my late 30s with kids and a wife and I already moved on to possibly new hobbies lol.

To me GTA already feels changed so I wonder how many more changes we will see in VI.

Of course development of a modern-day Miami will be a shadow of an 80’s Miami, but doesn’t it just feel so right to be there? We’ve had a HD NYC and LA, it just should be Miami next.

They can easily go the Cyberpunk route and go futuristic. They can easily do a GTA with aliens and sh*t. We never know? The theme of GTA can change. We can have a female protagonist in Japan. Anything is possible in the next decades. Especially if Sam leaves.

Modern NYC is a shadow if 70/80s NYC. Modern Las Vegas is a shadow of 70s Las Vegas. Modern LA gangbanging is a shadow of 90s LA gangbanging. Modern New Orleans is a shadow of its past self. I can go on. Modern San Francisco is a shadow of its 70s self.  Not coming at you personally or anything but I'm curious to why people constantly repeat the bolded?

This begs the question, what is so interesting about modern day Los Santos? I'm sure people thought GTA V was going to be set in the 90's since it was in Los Santos.

And it will be imo. But with so many options it is hard to choose. I mean I can see any city happening besides LS AND LC.

Possible but then it would be Saints Row. I can imagine Sam objecting to that but if he is gone then all hell will break loose I think.

I guess it was a modern enough city to set up the jokes. V felt like it had the most jokes and references to contemporary society and I think they got carried away with it, or it just wasn't as funny idk.

A lot of weird sh*t happens in modern-day Miami (referencing Florida Man news articles). I'm sure they could work with it somehow.

Facts. Let me see....? Here in NYC we are sucking away more and more of their TV production especially in Brooklyn. Their music industry(at least Hip Hop) has been very stagnated. Crime is very low compared to the 90s. Celebrities no longer depending on Hollywood to get on. Heart of PC culture(and I hate using that term due to it being used primarily by a certain group of ppl just saying). Etc....

I'm from NYC and PLEASE.... No more Liberty City.

Oh yea I would love to see Florida men. As I said they should have 365 Florida men events, one Florida man from each day's events.

I’ve been playing undead nightmare and it’s crazy to me that there’s only a 6 year gap between San Andreas and red dead redemption. Now we have a 7 year gap between gta v and gta vi

Florida is KING of weird sh*t. lol. LA wouldn't be able to catch up to the weird sh*t that happens in Miami and southern Florida. "The is Weazel news! Rich billionaires at the Leaf Links golf club were eaten by alligators."

"This is Weazel news! A man was attacked and eaten by a zombie in Vice Beach!"

Yan is basing this off of a leaked document that was passed around here in 2012 and nothing more. For real all this guy ever got right were some lame ass GTA Online updates. I'd trust even greenrock over anything that goober says at this point.

See “but...” after bolded.

And I get it, certain eras tastefully represent the culture of a city, alike NYC and the 70’s, LA and the 90’s - but the culture for these places definitely adapted and still had a form of relevancy, I just feel the setting/vibe in a modern day Miami doesn’t quite weigh towards the same ‘adapted culture’ like the others mentioned. Las Vegas is a playground and is/will be definitely adaptable in any era/generation.

Its not just Miami I feel this way with, I feel the same with San Francisco - the culture and setting of there and Miami aren’t the in place right now - but Rockstar are developing GTA VI, and they’ll be sure that we’re just a cog in the machine and not the machine itself.

Don't feel like reusing same arguments so read through this thread when you have time.

I show how Miami has evolved into a new unique culture and has become greater than 80s Miami in terms of influence. The people who say Miami is not as interesting as in the 80s are the ones who can't put down those Cocaine Cowboy docs and visit Miami themselves. No offense. I don't know IF R will even have VI in VC whether modern or 80s but fact is Miami is now more popular than it was in the 80s.

How long between GTA V release and RDR2 announcement?
What if we were to add that time to the RDR2 release date?

3 years. Three very long ass years. People weren't even thinking about GTA and Red Dead we were all arguing about GTA V SP DLC.

f*ck I completely forgot about them. Although they already had a map and vehicles for those games. They just had to change a few things and then code the missions.

They used a different engine from Renderware because by that point EA owned Renderware so R* had to do something else.

Oh really? Well I never got the chance to play any of them so I didn't know, I thought they were the same by looking at gameplays.

What they used was pretty similar to Renderware they did it in house.
