For those who didn't see my comment from earlier about the video the Preacher uploaded with one of his riddles. I found 2 possible meanings to the numbers, I think the second thing I found out is more plausible. What do you guys think?

I also thought of that cached anagram, but that isn't really something. The second one is inteed plausible, but again we can't really trust the Preacher anymore.

It'll be the latest version of RAGE, new engines aint whipped up easily.

 

There is literally no reason for them to change engine either, RAGE is purpose built for their needs and one of the most advanced engines around. Do not confuse game design with limitations of the engine.

Also it seems like there is something with those video, it says it's uploaded on the 4th of april, but it wasn't. So idk what this means.

RAGE has a bespoke version of Euphoria built into the engine to my knowledge. GTA V uses it but is obviously toned down.

I just thought they had to build something new, if they want to release a revolutionary and never seen new Grand Theft Auto.

They improved big time in rd2 compared to gta 5 and im sure it will just improve even more in gta 6

Well let me put it this way, RAGE is built on AGE which was used for Midtown Madness way back in the day. You can also list pretty much any other well known engine and trace it's origins back several years if not decades as well.

 

Game engines aren't like the actual games, you don't just start from scratch when you want to do something new, it's not practical or really needed. They evolve and are refined over years with new technology integrated into them as it's developed.

Game engines are good at different things cause they are usually made for different types of games. RAGE is purpose built for the type of games Rockstar creates, but it may not be well suited to other genres. For example, Frostbite is a great engine in DICE's hands when they're making Battlefield but in the hands of other EA studios it's a bit of a mess which resulted in development issues for studios such as BioWare when creating games like Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda. You do have engines like Unreal Engine which are well rounded and freely available too.

 

There's really no definitive answer to what is the absolute best engine though.

Honestly RAGE was phenomenal for RDR2, and it's also pretty much a staple of Rockstar titles nowadays. They should really rework the shooting mechanics in their next game though

The shooting in rd2 was really good and i liked how when you get shot how your player reacts. But you are defo right they could work on it abit
