We're the money.

But we haven't even seen actual PS5 gameplay yet. I'm not surprised that they're waiting... it feels a little too early in that regard.

RDR2's movement is the best they've done so far out of the HD era GTA's and RDR games. Doesn't change the fact that it was still widely criticised. Criticism over RDR2's controls were rampant when it launched, V had the same and also IV especially. Nothing objective about it, they are some of the most criticised parts of the game. Not an assessment, but fact.

It's archaic game design, and arrogant of Rockstar to still think that's the case if that is their line of thinking. Fortnite is the most casual mainstream game in the world and while it obviously has aim assist mechanics (mainly due to the controller support), it does not have full lock on. Lock on aiming is not a casual feature in 2018, it's a extremely out dated feature.

Along with the controls and movement, yes it was. It was hounded for it.

One moment Rockstar are catering to casuals and the mainstream, now they are making a design choice that most core games might disagree with? Pick one.

RDR2 is quite probably the best game I've ever played but it is not perfect. The shooting mechanics particularly on controller are dire and that is a result of building the console versions around lock on aiming in a age where it's severely out dated. The controls were clunky and cumbersome and took some getting used to - there were many stories of players accidentally shooting people due the lock on mechanics also being used to interact with people for example - and the movement while the best example of this style of Rockstar's movement to date often results in some clunky moments especially in tight spaces.

I agree but I think RDR2's controls were another one of Rockstar's "tests" for future games however it shows promise. People keep complaining about delay but that's not the issue at all. It's the fact that it guesses what you're trying to do.

There were numerous instances in Arthur doing random sh*t that I never even anticipated. Like going near a chest (walking) to open and the guy just jumps on top of it. If I wanted to jump, I would've pressed the jump button. They tried too much to guess what the player is trying to do and failed horribly, same for horse riding. Hopefully they tone that down for GTA VI or at least get it right. GTA V had this same stupid automatic jump feature and suffered from the same fate, jumping when you didn't want to jump. Sure it creates fluid movement in the heat of the moment but 90% of the time I didn't want to f*cking jump.

GTA VI will definitely feature the movement style of RDR2 which I'm not opposed for, as long as they get it right and stop making dumb assumptions.

And that’s the reason why I expect GTA VI is made for +18 users (or mature under that age) and not for that kind of Ratkids.

Just the fact of comparing GTA with COD shows the trash idea of a good game they have.

I fear, that GTA VI may be the last time when they will sing for their long time GTA fans and that's why it's taking so long. It will be like "goodbye my friends". RDR 2 already feels like a farewell, they pushed themselves really hard with this masterpiece and out of sudden we find out this year, that Dan Houser leaves company.

And for the same reason they are making GTA VI instead milking GTA Online for many years to come... Rockstar Games is company of actions, not yadda yadda.

I picked this particular quote out of your post, because I believe this misconception characterises the overall disagreement within our discussion.

That is what I was getting at and my main point, core gamers, do not equal the mainstream. Core gamers, are people who put in huge amounts of time into gaming, whereas mainstream gamers only ever play one or two AAA titles a year.

Again, there is a distinct amount of difference between the Fortnite demographic and the demographic RDRII appeals to, with RDRIIs demographic being a lot more mature. While Fortnite does appeal to a mainstream audience, it mostly does to a younger audience, up to people in their twenties.

Whereas games likes RDRII, appeal to an older mainstream audience, the average consumer so to speak, the 40 year old business man who consumes movies. There is a great deal of chance said person has one or more Rockstar games on his shelf.

I know it sounds almost ludicrous, but the Housers(or now Sam Houser), make games that primarily, appeal to themselves, mainstream audience that is heavily involved within the pop culture, it is the reason the GTA games are so widely

sucessful.

This does not mean that the audience of RDRII is per se an older one, it just is essentially a "cooler" one, a more mature one. Rockstar Games are the games played by the "cool" people, by people who usually do not play with Orcs and Elves. At least that is the Housers primary perception of their target audience, eventhough statistics might disagree with that sentiment, which probably was the reason for a major shift towards Online titles, with a great displeasure for the Housers(and probably the reason for Dans departure).

Also the reason I am heavily concerned about their future. The overall mainstream is shifting, towards increasingly linearic and bland "pop culture", the classics of yesterday, are replaced with Super hero movies, and influencers.(as seen with Fortnites partnership with both of these). Pop culture has shifted, in the US, and New York, it is still very interesting, but in most countries it has become very generic.

The old Rockstar, the cool Rockstar is slowly but surely disappearing, while Sam does still keep pumping some of this old Rockstar essence into his titles, for example with the inclusion of real Techno DJs for GTA Onlines Nightlclub Update which were a direct result of his own influence within production, overall their hallmark is disappearing and they are slowly becoming just another gaming company, making games....for gamers, and not for cool people.

Couldn't agree more. Rockstar Games or maybe I should say veterans at Rockstar Games try to make games, that will appeal to themselves and their long time fans who are with them since the foundation of company, it's not just Sam Houser and Dan Houser pushing this, it's a lot more people. How many kids are even able to appreciate RDR 2? Little to none. When I see Fortnite I'm like, "what the f*ck is this"? Is this game for 3 years old kids? It's literally as colorful as "My little pony" anime.

Y'know speaking of music, they should implement a new feature to the game which is record collection. Of course that would require lots of work with music licensing but would be cool nonetheless.

I could see them as collectibles and you could listen to them in your safehouses. Speaking of collectibles, if not records then what collectibles should VI have? If it is in VC then I would love to collect zombie Elvis papers.

Just out of curiosity: What is considered "proof"? If I was a real leaker I wouldn't tell my real name or the name of my sources to the mods. And I also would not simply sent documents which might contain sensitive information regarding me or my sources.

In this case you can´t be a leaker, it´s that easy.

You can´t work at Rockstar or any other company, then claiming you have insider information about a specific product and not proof it with further valid information.

You have to proof that you are legit and the information is valid. Otherwise you are a troll and nobody will believe you, well, besides of idiots.lol

And it has something to do with trust, of course. You trust the Staff of GTAForums that they do their best to validate the source.

Alright, so looking at R*’s twitter account I can’t find a time that they’ve posted more than twice in 24 hours, not since the Casino Heist. Even then they only posted like 6 times that day, including retweets. It’s like it’s against their policy to spam the feed with 3+ unless they’ve got something BIG going on. But in the last 24 hours, they’ve posted 9 times !

a) they delete old tweets ?

b) they’re literally trolling us

c) ... it can’t really be something big because none of it’s really related to each other. in fact the posts seem so lazily done I’m leaning towards b)

They did that in the first saints row game. Rockstar licenses hundreds of songs, it wouldn’t be hard to do

This is how R* can get away with adding futuristic weapons and cars to a game set in the past. Have them be top secret military projects that some shady people got their hands on and are selling on the black market.

some of it could be pointed at a few of the coronavirus posts as a special case, but they’re still breaking that 2 per day rule with 4 tweets completely unrelated

Do you know what a Whistleblower is?

There are differences between a "Leaker" and a "Whistleblower", i know.

But just to proof that you are wrong.

If a person can proof for example that she/he works in a company, you can trust that the information is true. If you find more persons, you can compare the information and see if it´s the same. Then it is most probably true. If two persons from the same company leak the same information, it´s most probably because they work there for example. They have access to this specific information.

I honestly feel like people were saying that about V at one point. But I trust that they will make VI a timeless game. I mean look at RDR2, it looks great and the story is great. Just sucks about Dan Houser and Leslie Benzies though...

I don't mind futuristic weapons or cars but let's say Oppressor MK II? That's where they should stop. There is slim border between something futuristic and ridiculous. I actually loved jetpack in San Andreas and it's real thing nowadays.

I'm still disappointed that they didn't take advantage of it in V. That would have been the perfect time to introduce listening to music on foot from your phone. Pull out the phone go to music select a playlist or a song then your character does an animation of putting their headphones on.

People like to hate on Saints Row a lot but in Saints Row 1 and 2 there are still features to this day that are far ahead of R*. Hell you can even do it in Watch Dogs.

Is it? I thought it is still very limited and you can only fly short heights and for short distances where as in SA it was infinite.
