GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 3]

Being secretive is fine, as long as when they actually show GTA VI for the first time they don't then keep the game in development for years after that and by the conformation of Rockstar's own developers they initially intended GTA V to launch in the Winter of 2012 and they were never able to reach that target, then they set the target of Spring 2013 and again failed to reach that.

 

I find it difficult to believe that the game was in anyway near it's finished state at the time they showed it off back in 2011 and the same story can be applied to RDR 2, game is announced years too early in a relatively unfinished state still requiring many more months of work before eventually getting delayed time and again and close to two years later the game is finally purchasable by the fans that wanted it tfor wo years after they first showed it off. 

 

If Rockstar said nothing this year or next but in late 2021 they knew the game would be finished by 2022 they decided to confirm VI officially then that's got to be better than showing the game in a few months from now knowing for a fact that we aren't getting to play it for over year regardless.

I suppose some of the secrecy we experience is down to R* being perceived (at least by itself) as a market leader and not a follower. Everything they do is oh so special and mustn't be revealed until it's ready, otherwise it risks being ripped off by competitors. 

 

I just wish they had the confidence to be more open. No one's close to investing the amount that's going into GTA6, they are safely in a unique position. So reach out to fans, open up a two-way dialog, even involve them in the design of the game! 

 

I realize that there is more chance of me getting to the moon next weekend than this happening. I guess that's just the way it goes.

Eh, Singleplayer DLC is different, it was not really officially announced, more like, hinted at during a Newswire article. Similar to how they hinted at perhaps a planned GTA VI announcement or some other big Update, back in January this year:

"Plus, expect more big updates and a few surprises as we move forward into the year."  

Though the hint towards Story Mode DLC was a little more explicit

I would ascribe him certainly as lunatic "genius", but according many reports he is everything, but "calm".

 

He even took up Yoga to cope with his anger issues, he is reported to be a perfectionist, workaholic with an insane drive for quality.

At some point employees reported that he took up the habbit of collecting rubberbands in the office, when they fell on the ground, they found it to be a fitting allegory for his overly perfectionist mindset, that he developed when creating the Grand Theft Auto games.

Please can we not have debate over consoles, the whole "console wars" argument is pathetic and meaningless.

Buy whichever plastic box you like and respect others decision to choose differently.

 

This goes for all fanboys of any device/company.

 

No company cares about your loyalty for their brand, the only loyalty they care about is your loyalty to buy their products every year.

I doubt they're lacking in confidence. Being so secretive just gives them more mystique.

 

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

 

Money wise I get it but I'm still suprised they've kept GTAO updated for so long because it's kind of watered down the whole absence part of that saying compared to the radio silence on anything GTA related we got between GTA:EFLC and GTAV. 

 

Nothing will compare to that drought between those games in my opinion. Maybe because I had way more free time back then but that was torture.

I understand not everyone has taken track of every leak in the past few years, but it is pretty common knowledge, even amongst Mainstream Fans that he used to be a Leaker with rapport, until he stopped at T2s request.
