Is it usually the same for everyone or do people get different prizes as well

Mystery Prize will reward the player one specific item from the game. This could be GTA$, RP, a vehicle, chips, clothing or even snacks.

 

Mystery Prize is also currently the only legitimate way to obtain the Lost Slamvan, however the chances are extremely slim.

Got the mystery price a couple of times, lat time on this sunday. I got snacks refill, snacks refill, a T-shirt, snacks refill, RP and last time a weed farm supplies full restock.
Snacks are always full, I don't need/want RP, I don't care about T-Shirts and my weed farm already was full (about to sell product). So out of 6 mystery prices I got "something" two times only ... until now mystery prices were a big disappoitment for me

I landed on the Mystery Prize twice in my time spinning the wheel. 

 

The first time I was awarded with a Meteorite snack. The second time I won a hardtop Obey 9F.

Special cargo, it'll be in your first cargo warehouse. Sells for a lot more than a regular crate.

There is no working "method" ... besides using exploits.
