Making the "Definition Off" Effects Stronger on IV PC?

Recommended Posts

So, I play this game in 5120x2880 (which is around 8x the Xbox 360 resolution). It makes the game nearly aliasing free when combined with FXAA, and just looks amazing when compared to running it at 720p. But, when playing at this resolution, the depth of field used when turning off Definition is barely visible. So, I'm asking is there anyway to mod the game to strengthen the depth of field, along with the usual definition blur used when increasing the resolution? I like my game looking like it did on the Xbox 360, just without the jaggies.

I use GeForce Experience to add DoF to my game. Nvidia released a feature on it recently called game filters that is essentially SweetFX but way easier to use.

Since GTA IV isn't officially supported by it, you have to rename GTAIV.exe to anselintegrationtestapp.exe and use an older version of GFE (v3.20.0.105 to be exact) for it to work.

Like, the DOF at my resolution is still there with definition off, but it's just very subtle. I don't want to stack them. I'm just looking for a way to mod the proper looking DOF, along with the blur brought on by Definition being off, in without Reshade or SweetFX.

One more try at this. I'm still looking to find out how to get the definition effect more eloquently scaled up to the resolution I play at.

Even at 1440p the depth-of-field effect is still really light compared to 720p.
