GrungeNinja
I searched for this thread and seems to not exist, so I’ll start. I know that I may not be the only one and probably not, but often I leave my character sitting somewhere in the moonshack bar with the band playing, high volume and go do something else. I really enjoy the music and crowd talk. Edited March 28, 2020 by GrungeNinja Caerfinon, Potter145, BUT THE BENZ and 6 others

I started a fresh new game and it is actually more enjoyable the second time around because I'm taking my time just exploring whereas I was very focused on the missions the first time around. It's totally worth starting a net new game. The Epilogue sucks mostly I agree. Abigail is insufferable. kcole4001
RyuNova
I spend more time these days loading into the game and dressing my character up than I do playing. The moment I realise I have a huge ride across the map to pick up the Bounty only to be paid a pittance after waiting for ten minutes I turn the game off. Commander S
I figure there can't be that many other players who went into this game with the (perverse) goal of deliberately not being a cowboy/outlaw/gunslinger... I mean, RDO technically isn't a game about being a globe-trotting Victorian adventurer (think peak Conan Doyle - Sherlock Holmes meets The Lost World) - but since it's set in 1898, and there are enough tools at my disposal to have a decent crack at it, it's not like I can't pretend that it is, right? Pretty sure it's not supposed to be about an exiled English rich boy who exists to spite the last thing his Father said to him while slowly coming to the realisation that perhaps his Father was and has always been right but that what I am going with. Some of them are pretty scary looking, probably deserved it. They look the type that would deliberately turn their horses headlong right in front of you just so that they could get a shot at you while you were down after crashing into them. I hate those guys! I tend to literally just ride my horse around not doing a darn thing, just taking in the sights and all. When I first started playing online I would literally visit all of the places in Story mode and it was cool to think of the stories that were going to be taking place there in the future. kcole4001
As I do in GTA, when my session is done (by choice, not by error) I put my character to bed: get a wash at the barrel, drink a beer, fill up depleted ammo, then go inside the tent and begin resting. Unfortunately with the basic tent you can sit on the cot, but with the fancy collector tent you have to use the 'rest' command which just makes you crouch, that's stupid. BUT THE BENZ
my "own" thing: the slowjamz treasure chests approach! I open them, then wait a certain bit before grabbing the gold and money. can't really say it got me more loot than without waiting (not enough numbers to compare really) but it always felt like I got a bit more that way. other than hastily grabbing the loot which I did before, with noticable lower takes most of the time. I guess there are some numbers to back this up, for some time I kind of documented almost every treasure map I found and chest I looted. but I stopped at some point, unfortunately. so it's just a "theory" if you will, but I still, take my time with those chests, and hope for the best!....yesssss! rhyme attack! haha ;D DentureDynamite, Sundevil, Rev. There are times/places here where being the cowboy/gunslinger almost feels out of place. St. Denis for example. 1898 is a pivotal time and leaves things wide open for going either way. kcole4001, Rev. Hell, if they wanted to. They could reboot/reset, the online game - take it back a full decade. Unlikely, but it would shake things up. Edited March 30, 2020 by Rev. kcole4001
When going from shop to shop, or often even collecting items in St. Denis, I walk rather than sprint. Just trying to keep a more relaxed feel to the game. I started this when visiting the fence in St. Denis where you have to go through the courtyard in Chinatown, and it's so well detailed I'd rather walk and enjoy the surroundings, now I apply this to the small towns especially, like Blackwater, Rhodes, and Valentine where you can get multiple errands done in the nearby stores. When all the NPC's are not scared off by gunfire or laying on the ground dead the Online world is quite detailed. Alot of NPC's actions and animations are present like the woman wearing a bonnet and carrying the basket in Valentine, saw her the other day. Places like Saint Denis have faaar more life to them when you are in a Solo Session because other players are not disturbing the peace and eating up resources. Rev. Jason
Hmmm... The only thing that comes to mind really is that I always log out when in a town, I'll ride to a town just to log off.
