Bombeast 0
Just to warn you that this is my first forum post so far, so if I did anything wrong, feel free to notify me. That'd be much appreciated. I have downloaded GTA III and Vice City earlier this year and decided to install some mods to make the games more playable and fresh. Notably SilentPatch and Project 2DFX. Both work great and don't hinder with the performance, but I've noticed that certain vehicles have huge issues with their headlights and taillights, where they are shown as large squares instead of regular light coronas. I've tried looking up to see if anyone else had this issue, but nothing so far. No patches either. This is the most notable example: (Notice the taillights on the cars.) This issue appears in GTA III as well. It doesn't hinder with the gameplay in any way, but it looks so out of place that it bothers me. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thanks. Version of the game is the 1.0 patch on PC. Same for GTA III. These are my PC's specs: Edited March 25, 2020 by Bombeast
Bombeast 0
Wait, never mind. After reviewing the rules, I've realized this is not the board for me to ask this. Sorry.

Sorry. Replying anyways. This is not an issue as far as I am concerned. This is how they look from sideways.

This is how they look from sideways. I don't think so. Instead of it looking like a light as it should, it looks like a transparent block instead. This is especially noticeable on cars like Esperanto in GTA III. I've removed the mods and tried playing the vanilla game again, and the problem is still present. So it's not the mods. How the hell did I not notice that...? I've been playing the games for about 2 months now. I've seen some videos on YouTube to show a comparison. Exactly the same. Huh. Bombeast 0
While it IS supposed to look like that, I'd still wish there was a way to replace them. They look very, very unnatural and ugly.
Skyline87 0
It is possible by installing SkyGFX, I think. I have installed Silent Patch, 2dfx and SkyGFX and I dont have these squares. https://imgur.com/a/wtskWZi
Beato_dim 736
Hmm. I don't remember, are they like that in the PS2 version?

I looked up some gameplay and it looks to me that it is the same. Seemingly it is harder to tell with some vehicles like the Hermes.

The sky is completely and utterly pitch black.
Skyline87 0
Weird, as I have the same mods as you and I dont have this problem. Try reinstalling the game and install the mods again... I had an issue where everything worked properly ONLY after I installed them in correct order, but it also had some other mods...

So, SkyGfx first, then 2DFX and in the end SilentPatch

The problem doesn't appear until I add SkyGFX onto it. Here's the screenshots so you can see how it is: (This is without SilentPatch and 2DFX. I tried installing it alone to see if it was a compatability issue.)
Bombeast 0
Also, we're derailing the topic of the actual problem. It has been fixed, so I made a new thread in the correct category: https://gtaforums.com/topic/951199-skygfx-skybox-issue-iiivc/?tab=comments#comment-1071150042
