Yes,they should definitely lose the ambient music,or at least have an option to turn it off.In GTA 5/Online it gets annoying hearing it in every mission, car chase, shootout or even just while flying an aircraft,and the only way to turn it off also mutes the radio.

- Focus on military/government crap instead of street crime/organised crime

- Tiresome and fun ruining too strict and aggressive police/wanted system 

- Too heavily restricted and scripted gameplay/missions

- Dumbed down driving/combat/movement/NPC etc physics

- Lack of interiors and other details with a giant map with useless empty space just for the sake of being able to say it's big and to make room for online stuff instead

- Satire and humour that's too on the nose or dumb

- Story mode shortened because of online, or story mode having to be tied into online in some way, or otherwise negatively affected by online

- For the first time, now Dan Houser and Lazlow have left, the writing quality not being high or in keeping with what GTA's writing should be

My biggest fears are:

- Not having enterable interiors.

- Lazily put together A.I like in V.

- Generic sounding weapons.

- Garbage melee like in V.

- Heavily scripted missions.

For me, here's my fear list for GTA VI:

- Less interiors

- Terminator cops like GTA V

- Sh**ty storyline like GTA V

- No city/island restrictions

- City is either too small or big but feel empty

- More than 1 protagonists

- Online updates

- No side-missions

- Sh**ty protagonist like Trevor from GTA V

- Killing off previous game characters like GTA V which kills 45-80% of GTA IV characters

I agree with most of what you said. I REALLY wasn’t a fan of how most GTA 4 characters were treated in GTA 5.

I didn’t mind it so much that they were killed as long as it made sense, but unfortunately most of it didn’t.

 

Packie’s cameo was cool and getting to use him as a crew member was awesome, but it’s a shame he kind of just turned into a generic goon.

 

I didn’t even know it was him during my first play through and I ending up killing him myself lol.

-Characters that are way over the board and cartoony like Trevor.

 

-A terrible map that consists of nothing but boring city buildings like GTA IV or any GTA that takes place in Liberty City.

 

-Too much focus on online gaming. 

 

-Boring and repetitive missions with no variety where 90% of the missions are "go to this spot and kill these guys" like in GTA IV. 

 

-A map that's too small. 

 

-Too many stupid mini games that no one cares about. 

 

-Missions that feel like doing chores. 

 

-The in game stats page being extremely lacking like in RDR 2. You can't even look at the number of total kills.

Just one city and modern times. I'll buy it, but after that I think I'm done. Its too easy and too boring - too catered to the masses, if they go down that direction.

80's Vice City again. Thankfully that setting is very unlikely since Rockstar doesn't do the same thing twice. We'll probably end up seeing modern day South Florida and I'm completely fine with that.

Assuming GTAO is milked to sh*t again I think there's a 99.9% chance that GTA VI will be another modern game. I can't see the GTAO model working with a period piece (Yeah I know there's RDO, but that's an entirely different thing and no where near as popular as GTAO), but even ignoring that I can't see R* making another period piece GTA full stop. Back in the day it seemed like something they wanted to tick off their bucket list because the 3D era GTAs were heavily influenced by Hollywood and the Housers were big fans of Scarface, Miami Vice and basically all of those elements that made up those games that they wanted to capture in GTA form.

 

I'm not too fussed either way though. I'd be happy with a period piece or modern day game, but my head says that modern is far more likely given the model they've created with the HD era thus far. I could be wrong of course, but that's my take.

 

As for one city considering many people moaned about GTA IV only having a city based map and again when people moaned about GTA V's map only having one city so I think two cities at a minimum is a reasonable expectation. As much as I love city only maps like GTA IIi, Vice City and GTA IV I can't see R* reverting back to that formula and given the power and potential of next gen hardware they should be able to create big and vast maps with more than one city with relative ease.

Probably been mentioned, but jumping out of the vehicle and then game over, I never liked that, and hopefully no reused or similar game engine physics as was with V and Red dead.
