GTA 6 Fear List

Set outside of USA - I believe that GTA is after all american rags to riches story.

Set in modern time - While I don't mind it that much but, I'd love to see R* go back in time again, there is something special in 80's and 90's.

I want Strauss Zelnick to shut up saying 8 years is too long in between releases. He's a great businessman, but it's crazy that he has no idea how bad GTA sales will tank if they release 1/4 of a game and build on it over time.

I always respected R* for taking their time with their games, just imagine if we would get a new GTA every 2nd year,maybe it sounds nice at first but I'm sure it would end up awful.

Yeah man it is absolutely not a good idea. He should just be grateful their online games are so popular and are making huge sums of money in between releases. All he has to do is look at the 2K games under his umbrella with regular releases to clearly see that regularity of releases is not the answer, but quality is. I'm sure their sports title's haven't made in 10 years what GTA V made in 1.

It's good for the crunch, for sure, as the articles depicted. But maybe hiring more staff is what they need to resolve it. Not like they're short on cash.

It is too long , you can make great games in way less time.

I have to agree with this. Or at least you could scale up your development team so that it takes less time. They have the resources and there's enough talent out there.

I fear them intertwining Single Player and Online, that would be catastrophic.

I'm in pain just by reading this. Did they give any of hint of this in RDR2 though?

My DON'T WANT list for GTA 6 is:

  1. Singleplayer NOT getting any DLC vehicles / clothing / savehouses / weapons, like they appearing only in GTA Online but remain inaccessible for Singleplayer fans (I personally, in my GTA V I'm not really interested from Multiplayer / GTA Online at all);
  2. Making almost no interiors available in free roaming in Singleplayer (I really like the LOTS of the apartment buildings interiors available in GTA IV / EFLC compared to GTA V);
  3. Don't get police wanted level for just shooting, in rural ares with no peoples / humans nearby at all;
  4. Map like GTA V's one - only one city, but only a few small / tiny towns in rest of the map, ie. NOTHING different large as city that gives any attention / reason to leave current city via the highway;
  5. Trains aren't stopping on stations like they supposed to do (compared to GTA San Andreas);
  6. Can't stay and use only one camera view while riding the metro like the Los Santos' one in GTA V, as I'm aware R* made this only possible in GTA Online but NOT in SIngleplayer where camera switches every few seconds between its three possible camera views when riding the metro and it can't be disabled without modding;
  7. No LOTS of restricted areas.

-primary focus on online multiplayer,or worst case scenario no singleplayer at all

-3 or more protagonists (unless maybe if the game has 100+ missions and can develop all 3 well)

-poorly written and developed characters

-badly designed map

-bad AI (NPCs calling the cops for standing near them for 10 seconds, animals calling the cops on you, cops that know where you are even if they can't see you, rival gang members that just stand around and ignore each other, etc.)

-scripted "random" events (car jackings, muggings, drug deals, police chases, etc. being scripted instead of actually random like they were in 3D era games)

-so much social commentary that it becomes annoying like in GTA 5 (characters like Trevor and Jimmy that are supposed to parody the players, bunch of social media references, boomers vs millennials, left wingers vs right wingers, bunch of celebrity parodies, etc.)

-killing off previous protagonists for cheap shock value

-stuff like Oppressor, Vigilante, Ruiner 2000, flying Deluxo, Rocket Voltic, flip car, Railgun, Widowmaker, Unholy Hellbringer, Up N Atomizer, etc.

-boring side activities like yoga, tennis or golf

-no ability to purchase safehouses

-too few interiors (I'd even prefer 20-something different interiors copy-pasted across the map like in GTA SA over 99.9% of buildings being inaccessible)

-another modern setting (I wouldn't really hate it,but I'd prefer 70s or 80s)

-not good enough character and vehicle customization

-no ability to choose personal vehicles

-too arcadey driving physics

-bad hand to hand combat (fighting moves consisting only of sloppy punches and kicks, NPCs that die after one punch, etc.)

-missions being restrictive when it comes to the ways players can do them

-half of the story being about working for some crooked government organisation

Not really but by now we've all seen how much Rockstar favour Online. I wouldn't be surprised if they done something like that, it would be a truly horrendous decision if they did.

Some other "fears" I forgot to mention.

-Restrictive controls inside of certain buildings like GTA V. I don't care if it isn't "realistic" or "out of character" if I want to kill Jimmy while he's playing video games in his room then I should be able to. Don't stop me by not allowing me to take out guns inside.

-The friends system being removed entirely. Love or hate it it's a great tool for immersion. However with the friends in GTA V being somewhat watered down compared to GTA IV and the removal of girlfriends it's only a matter of time. I was disappointed we couldn't hang out in RDR2 so yeah. It seems the writing's on the wall with this one.:/

-A story taking place over multiple years/decades, but being able to switch between the different time periods. I love the idea of the story stretching over a number of years/decades like the Mafia games, but I cringe at the thought of being able to actively switch between them (Through a menu, like GTA V's protagonists switching or however it would be done). It sounds like a cheap gimmick that Ubisoft would do.

- Not enough involvement of traditional/typical crime themes. Crime organizations, story missions, side-missions, etc.

This is something I felt that the predecessors did far better than GTA V, especially when it comes to GTA III and GTA IV.

Aside from fearing a focus on the online part of the game and goodies exclusive to that mode, I want the next game to last more and be longer than the usual 70+ missions we're accustomed to, especially if multiple protagonists returns

I feel the map will be fairly big, probably bigger than V's map and considering that I fear only having a limited amount of options with regards to safehouses. For how big V's map was the amount of safehouse options we had was absurd. Michael had one in Rockford Hills, Franklin in Vinewood Hills (and ofc South LS before that) then Trevor in Sandy Shores and later on the strip club.

Considering how big the map was we should have had a lot more choice in this department - it just seems that all the safehouses bar Trevors Sandy Shores trailer were all situated within one small area. We should have been able to buy property in Mirror Park, Vespucci Beach, Chumash, downtown, Paleto Bay, Blaine County etc. For me this just added to the feeling that most of the map just went to waste - hopefully they've given this thought and let us go back to the days where we could buy safehouses all over the map.

Don't really care what they do for single player.

As far as online (assuming it's a completely new GTA Online), I have quite a realistic fear list:

-Small map, or a map with separate cities instead of 1 whole map. Would love the entire USA or Earth to scale (see MS flight sim), and maybe in the future explore the solar system

-Vehicle trunk storage (like horse storage in RDR2)

-New physics that are more clunky and slow (RDR2)

-The "core" system (health, stamina, etc, from RDR2)

-Server player count stuck at 32

-Not being able to see players anywhere on the map

-No text chat

-Only able to hold limited amounts of each weapon type

-Insane weaponized vehicles from the start

-Dedicated servers

-Time period taking place in the past

-Not being able to move at full speed anywhere (NIGHTCLUB!!!)

-Police system of RDR2 (GTA5 was perfect, and it should never change, except it should be harder to get cops in the first place, depending on location)

-Vehicles and weapons that wear down over time

-Vehicles that can run out of fuel

(I will edit in more as I think of them)

My fears:

-Small map.

-Too arcade gameplay.

-Too realistic gameplay.

-Fantasy, unrealistic or futuristic stuff.

-Focus on multiplayer.

-LACK of female protagonist :cool:

Monological

setting that has been used before, we need something fresh, maybe with next gen hardware theyll be able to pull off a multiple states ordeal like rdr2s but obviously with greater depth.

no innovation in regard to the missions gameplay

sh*tty protagonist, i dont care what gender it is

no improvement on the ai

focus on the inevitable online component

lack of character customisation

no story dlc

map smaller than rdr2s

a map thats huge, but lacks depth and variety

samey feeling gunplay

no improvements in regard to the first person modes fluidity, feels like a nightmare to use with the game forcing your camera into positions 24/7

super serious storyline/ comedic storyline, there has to be a balance of both

lack of air travel

no returning characters from V/IV

- Short main story.

- Multiple missions that have repetitive designs (like in GTA IV where you have three missions involving police computer).

- Few side missions.

- 100% Completion rewards which not worth for the effort.

- Gun maintenance from RDR 2.

- Unlimited inventory from GTA V.

Lol, just turn the Music volume in the Audio Settings all the way down.

A GTA 5 copy and paste... :facedesk:

perennial

-Oversimplified game mechanics
-Cartoony atmosphere
-Short story
-Forced humor
-Too bitter satire

-Restrictive missions

-Wasteful map layout

-Focus on stupid gimmicks
-Not feeling like a crime game
-Making it a nightmare to mod

I'm not talking about the radio itself, I like to listen to it. What I'm saying is that when I turn off the radio a music usually starts, for example when you are flying or you are being chased by the police. That's what I don't like, I could modify it in the menu but it would be boring
