Great job SilentPL! I'm interested to see how you will add empire features. I guess you would have to make it so the buildings alternate models or something so they change when you upgrade them and when they are under construction and all. Beta Vic anyone?

Just need to ask one thing, are you guys going to re-create the original VCS easter eggs?

Like under construction easter egg, or 10 hidden face, or the other one?

 

I don't have time to explore all of them when i still got my PS2.

And PS2 emulator lags in my computer. confused.gif

Probably non-Polish speaking players won't be interested, but we have a nice progress with translating the mod smile.gif

Sadly, some characters had to be replaced to Polish ones, so it may lack some of Spanish/German/Italian/French characters now. If we'll really need I'll do a workaround though.

I always like translating stuff, but SA fonts (and even popular fonts) are not designed to work with local language, so special characters are not available. (i.e in Vietnamese it's impossible to have character like ă, â, đ, ô, ơ, ư...) biggrin.gif

Everything is possible, you just have to tweak fonts textures cookie.gif

 

SA hasn't got Polish characters too, but Ash remade them, basing on Cenega's Polish fonts smile.gif

This is kinda off-topic but I remember you guys had a post saying you fixed how during loading the screen would stutter before starting the game. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix this. I'm playing San Vice and it gets really irritating seeing the screen stutter every time I load the game. I tried looking every where for a fix but it seems you guys are the only ones who found a fix for it. If anyone could PM me or something telling me how to fix this I would really appreciate it.

That's actually very on topic. It's a good, key point and it concerns the mod. Every mod should have that fix.

It's great that the map is being thoroughly changed+fixed, and the coding work that has been put in isn't seen often here. tounge.gif

 

@Stuttering SA. To stop the stutter, make an empty .ipl and (in the gta.dat) load it repeatedly until the stutter stops.

I've modified sort "How many files need to be loaded" loading bar speed multiplier. Maybe it sounds selfishly, but I found it by myself and I wanna keep this exclusive for mods I'm in turn.gif

If someone founds it, OK. It's not hard, just trace loading bar displaying functions.

They are normal missions, so they'll be half-converted from VCS anyway. I just don't know when.

Well, just to let you guys know, I did what frank.s said and made an empty.ipl and loaded it into the gta.dat and the game no longer stutters when loading...took 31 lines. Maybe could take some out and it would still work but... I don't really care I mean it works so eh. But thanks frank.s for the info works great! icon14.gif

VCS don't use cubic reflections, but look-like in SA with ENB.

Hey i saw you just converted "some" VCS Car yet.. Is it easy to convert them? Convert them to PC DFF and open it on 3DS Max and fix some dummys? If yes, i could convert them for you.. I have VCS Orginall on DVD PS2

I'd love to know how do you import them into max with textures applyed? I use MDL importer but i dont know how to import textures i looked for tutorial but had no luck. sad.gif

I've been rigging vcs models for sa for some time now, u need these tools:

MDL importer

Yet another IMG editor

and GTA Stories Tex.

 

Install MDL importer to your 3ds max,

Download Yet another IMG Editor, and access the gta3ps2.img from either LCS/VCS.

Open GTA Stories Tex, and when you've opened also the gta3ps2.img from either LCS/VCS, there should be vic's textures, go to the top where it says: texture1, and click it, it should be a list of textures.

Then resume YAIE, and select a model (model1, model2, model3, etc) and extract it,

use GTAStories Tex to extract the textures from the model u extracted (if u extracted I.E; model3, the texture file should be texture3)

extract those textures into the same folder as the model file was extracted into,

and finally, go in 3ds max, do RunScript, open MDL Importer, and tick Flip even faces. Then import, done wink.gif

Luten did not convert, but rather recreated them. You can see they are not exactly like in VCS but close to it. He prefers doing so than converting because it would be in better quality.

You can use also my IMG Extractor, better than old YAIE because You can sort items and open LVZ/IMG archives.
