All geometry has materials. But when there is no texture, the geometry is deleted from the streamed world.

I've seen these balconies in LCS mobile. The material just has no texture image. Which makes me wonder what deleted faces may exist in VCS. Because unlike LCS, I've never noticed anything in-game.

Well sadly there is NO VCS MOBILE as of yet and we made a promise that if there was no VCS Mobile in sight then we would at least release a new W.I.P build in January 2018, we're sticking to that promise, in fact we're going to better it! As a nice holiday treat and to get a jump start on the new year here is the JANUARY 2018 W.I.P Build of VCS PC Edition. This build focuses on the start of reworking particle effects, remastered vehicles, a full and complete 24 hour timecycle with correct weathers and a completely reworked rendering technique ported from the original PS2 code.

 

This is the first build to have incredibly major contributions from The Hero as well as additional help in the texture department from SlyCooperGTA (who has been working with me every now and then over the past few months). A massive shout out goes to CP as I've pushed him quite a bit (possibly into insanity) over the choice to scrap all our vehicle and start again fresh with new tools from The Hero, allowing more accurate conversions and retaining much needed original names and material order. Texture wise you'll see improvements over on the Vice Beach side of the map and I'm looking forward to seeing comparisons to the original game! A nod goes to Yhdf from the Underground team for dropping by and delivering us with some new pedestrian converts with correct material order fixing the old pedcols issue that the old converter gave.

 

Now, what's next? Well, it all depends of a mobile release of VCS for us to continue in a reasonable manner, you've seen how amazingly streamlined it has made things for the LCS PC project and we'd really love to get to grips with the same kind of content to blast this thing wide open but alas, if there's no release then this could very well be the final build out in the public! This time however we believe we've left this build in a more usable condition. We're looking forward to seeing what people think of this so please share it around, show us photos of what you like, etc. Merry Xmas, Happy Holidays, whatever you celebrate and we wish all of you a Happy New Year!

Honestly mate, you guys are the most fascinating group of devs i've ever came across. You guys managed to do something here that looked like was never going to happen way back a year ago; you guys managed to somewhat revive a project that was getting thrown around for being a "dead horse". The progress you have made thus far is outstanding considering the limitations you must be working with. I really have to thank each one of you guys for being here and having the mindset you guys have. You could've very easily continued the absence from modding, but you gave it another go and look where it got you :colgate:

 

I have so much gratitude for you guys, it really brings a tear to my eye! Thank you all so much! :colgate::^:

The only reason I'm waiting for a VCS mobile port is so you guys can continue your work

 

Hopefully it's in development somewhere, as unlikely as it is at this point.

I'm sure that the mobile VCS port will probably come out either today or Thursday. Usually, mobile GTA games are released near the end of the year. If that doesn't happen, then maybe in Q1 of next year.

Nope, but it crashed when I tried to play it. Then again, it's WIP, so that's to be expected.

Great work all! I'm interested to see what's new! Are all the new and improved map objects included?

 

EDIT: After I install this update and test Vice City Stories Cheat Pack (VCSCP 2018) it will be released.

My suggest, to moders: When the VCS not ready, try research in mobile SA better textures to more fit Miami weather , as like it in SA earlier. They have the same trees and other stuff leftovers but with darker colour and proved geometry.

Always you can do that thing in other games III era on every platform.

Textures are not the issue, it's mainly code, file naming, etc.

Nice update but i have a problem , when i try to install the update i can't install SPC_GA and SPC_NA it said the files are corupted .Its because i use WinRar ?
