Are you guys using some custom DFF format or something? I'm attempting to port this to MTA, however every single object is showing major errors in debug, thus refusing to load.

If you'd like to port the VCS map to MTA, you should use Majestics tool to do a straight convert instead, ours has a lot of custom tricks and things that won't work well outside of our DLLs and shaders.

Ah, alright thank you. Are all of the collision names the same, or do I have to manually go through and assign collisions?

Are we talking about majestics tool? Streamed world has no link with DTZ IDE, thus collisions arent linked with models. Not a big deal, but you might want to fix LODs

What Im talking about is the fact that majesticss VCS convertor dumps colllisions of all sorts of different names that differ vastly from the model ID names and I was asking if this mod happened to use the same model ID names or not.

This mod isn't using (and won't be using, probably) majestic's tool. I have no idea how the map was ported in the first place, but colmapXXX, (XXX being VCS original IDE ID) is different because models aren't linked to collisions! Not just the tool, but in the game! Separate "environment" for models, different "one" for collisions. But you don't need to link them (it's a LOT of work). If you have any problem, it has it's own topic, where you can ask.

I followed VCS once it was VCS 0.7 version. It started by converting map from base Vice City and then they replace parts of map with VCS stuff. For most textures were VC PC textures with with edited gamma to match VCS style.

I followed VCS once it was VCS 0.7 version. It started by converting map from base Vice City and then they replace parts of map with VCS stuff. For most textures were VC PC textures with with edited gamma to match VCS style.

I think I still have that build on my old PC. The motion blur was a bit out of place and Vic looked like a bent old man in it.

Things have slowed down a bit as myself and _CP_ are still deciding what to do, we ARE looking for someone who can rig models as we'd like to get the peds and such converted and done with, we're also interested in someone joining to help with minor vehicles fixes (I'm VERY OCD with the detail to make sure things look as best they can), so this person would just be taking my bug reports and photos and fixing the already converted vehicle models. Apart from that just work on the DTZ as usual by The Hero and guard3, there's been some refinements here and there and I never did get around to posting these photos here (a few weeks old) so what the hell, just another look at the spec lighting system:

You can always buy a ps2 or psp and play it, even emulators can do the job.

So why won't it be you?

 

 

Just use PCSX2 or PPSSPP. The former emulates PS2 and requires somewhat more powerful (but not really high-end) computer than the latter, which emulates PSP. PSP can be emulated on Android devices as well, however playing VCS on your phone is unsatisfactory and uncomfortable (at least in my opinion). PCSX2 can be easily configured so that you'll be able to play with your mouse and keyboard. As far as PPSSPP is concerned, playing with a keyboard is possible, however I didn't manage to use a mouse to "look around" while playing VCS.
