To hell with it, some of you guys really should ask Luten to add the know bugs and error on #1 and the website already. Newcomers just won't look through bunch of pages to find reported bugs, and I find it reasonable for them to demand to know of it on an easy-to-look-for place. Slient is in control of the website, cool, but Luten rarely ever shows up on GTAF which is the main problem why #1 was not updated fast enough

The "problem" is is that we're also busy with other things now, so when we do work on this we want to actually work on the stuff that matters, I mean, it would be up to me to put together a sort of Q&A of known bugs, but if I'm being honest, that's going to be very boring to do, I'd rather get the extra weapons in the game and find good places for them or make more map adjustments.

Hahaha and that is what matters ??? Placing weapons on different places on tha map ??? Haha...well...I dont think that it will make the mod any more intriguing...but what will do that is adding new missions so that we can keep going in the storyline and unlocking new clothes and so on...THAT is what really matters so I completely agree with Ron...and besides...you guys say you are busy...you are and we all know that and we respect u and ur work..but I think you should respect us and our attempts to help and not always moan that they report buggs...well when they re-report a same bugg just ignore it and thats it...but your attitude can make people who want to contribute to this mod and its development to simply quit and say ,,to hell with it when they alwas complain...''' Now,you say you are busy..but it would be good of you to at least tell us what u did so far after the last update,to post pics of ur jobs like other mod developers do and so on...this way we will know what u are doing and what u are concentrated on and we wont distract u...but lets see that there is progress...cause one day you say you work on vehicles, the other on weapons and so on and so on and mainly on things that in my opinion are not of that matter...cause if u think that making bonus vehicles and so on makes this more than it is - well u are lying urself...I dont mean to offend anyone...but thats my opinion !!!

Except I'm not the one who does missions, I'd rather work on fixing map floating errors and other "small" stuff as I think that would benefit the map more than doing some Q&A on what bugs are currently reported.

If anything posts like this are pushing us AWAY from the mod, we're seriously close to quitting this for a few months, let us do what we want to do, that's how we've always done this, some things get put on hold, smaller stuff gets worked on, we go back to other things later, we're bored as hell with missions and sick of doing them, and people like you DEMANDING that we just do the missions, well, f*ck you, you come and step up big boy, let's see you do some work!

At the moment NONE of us are really happy about working on this. I'm going to let that sink in.

WOW !!! Thats all I am gonna say...we are all grateful to what you did !!! But if that is what you want ok take ur break...cause if i gotta be honest u are the only one b*tchin around and complaining all the time for working on that mod,Ash !!! And if our help is annoying thats fine !!! You think u are the only one that can be pushed away ??? Haha ok...I may not have done as much as u did but I also helped with most of the bugg reports so I dont think i helped little...and thats all I can help with...testing and reportin...if you dont want my help ok then...as of now I am stopping with the post and bugg reporting...and if the others wanna keep reporting and keep getting your disrespect and moaning well then let them keep up...I am done with that...I will keep following the mod development if there is any...good luck !!!

(20:43:08) Silent: because it's not a mission for VCS PC

Again, I was going to edit my previous post, but here's what I was going to put,

Actually, TheRock, you seem to be complaining about us reporting on different things, ...ever thought that there's MAYBE more than one person on the team? CP is doing Vehicles corrections and doing nbeach in between that for a break, I'm doing placements and weapon edits in between, Silent's fixing a whole lot of things based on reports and is working on other stuff in between. Mission stuff is just boring, it gives the rest of us the LEAST amount of things to do and puts all the work on Silent, which isn't fair.

I'm the front line to handle people, not just on here but on ModDB, YouTube, etc, so when I speak, I speak for the team, it's not just my opinion, if you can't grasp that, then that is your fault, but as Silent mentioned from our convo earlier, we're not happy about working on this anymore because we just have people like yourself constantly complaining about missions and demanding that we only do missions. No, lets us go about things as we have done before, where we'll just put things on halt and go back to them later and work on something smaller to get into the game instead. You complain about extras, but you don't know WHEN they were done, the Turismo vehicle was done many weeks ago when Luten was finished with the map, the San Andreas Melee weapons are edited by me now because I'm not doing much else apart from fixing map floating stuff in between working long hours at my real life job! CP has been working non stop re-fixing ALL of the vehicles and Silent's been well, run down by the constant mission fixes that he's working on something else now just to get away from them.

edit: Actually TheRock, want to help out, why don't you go back and compile a list of known bugs and errors and pose them as the Q part of a Q&A, I'll then take this, and do the answers side of it and clean it up.

People should think twice before shouting bullsh*t to the devs. I guess you aren't seeing the real thing here, they are porting a PS2 game to PC like Rockstar Games did with the other GTA's.

The difference here is that Rockstar Devs get paid and their team is tens bigger. This team is small, way more limited on resources and are doing it for free.

Plus, missions are the hardest thing to do and convert, which is why this is probably the only mod for SA that contains missions from the original titles.

So let them work with their own to-do list and stop asking them to do this and that. Everything will eventually come within its time, so just sit tight and if you want to bother someone go bother the russians on SAMP forum for them to make a SA-MP adapt. so we can all play on the multiplayer together while we wait for this mod to keep progressing, instead of sitting here everyday asking for a daily report of whats done and what's not.

Ash, I think you guys should really take a break. Working on something and not enjoying it is one of the easiest ways to stop working on it completely. I think you guys should take a few months off and then return to it, for the mods sake.. and your own. tounge.gif

You guys also have some patience, I would've lost my mind with guys like TheRock..

(yeah, my first sentence was unneeded. removed)

Well said, Ash. icon14.gif

For those of us who do think that they have the ability to suggest what the team should do, I would again keep in mind that not only this mod team, but ALL mod teams like this one do this out of their own time to benefit the public.

We are very lucky and honored to have these people in our society, and should respect and let them do work on what they please. panic.gif

Unless any one of us can do the same thing a team is doing better and faster, then there is nothing that can said to them other than "thanks" and "we appreciate your time". turn.gif

That's my two cents. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

Ok every one stop fighting. The team members have every right to take the mod in the direction they want it to go. Besides, they know that there are emulators to play VCS smoothly, and that adding new content to the game here and there greatly enhances it. The team is doing it for those who want VCS ported to PC, and their not being paid for their hard work. You guys also must be aware that the original Vice City Stories was made by hundreds of developers who were being paid. All their work is being reproduced by only a few talented people who are doing this profit free. Even though right now they don't have to worry about making animations or models, they still have a lot of other work to handle.

As for the team. We appreciate your work, and many wish they could return the favor. So I have a few ideas that may help lift the pressure from you guys.

1. Take breaks once in a while. If you guys don't want to have people posting "Is the mod dead?" you guys could always alternate. One person does a few things, then takes a break well another person does a few things, then so on.

2. Upload a bug log on the VCS site. You should make it use the same system that your vehicle/mission/ped conversion checklists use. The public can look at the checklist and see if the bug is reported. When I post bugs, I don't want to dig through pages to see if others are having the problem, but I also want to know whether or not other people are having the issue.

3. Recruit more scripters. This way mission converting goes faster, and its much less work for Silent. But I'd have the scripter show what they have done so you guys can make sure they know what their doing.

4. If you haven't, I'd recommend making a Facebook and a Twitter page for the mod. Social Networking pages for stuff spread like viruses. This will help you guys in finding more recruits.

For 2 and 3, I'd make a big announcement for them. The word of this mod has been spreading around the internet because of the quality it has, so I'm willing to bet that there are people who are willing to join. The more popular the mod is, the better chance you will find new recruits.

You got to spread the word of the mod. Then you make a big announcement "Recruiting Scripters". The better the mod is, the better chance you have.

To be able to trust a scripter he or she should submit some work of their own to show that they know what their doing. This is a big project and the more people they have, the better. Finding more people means it will be much easier in the long run. Less work and stress on the individuals, well over all more progress.

That really doesn't work, right? Only a few people would be interested.

The reward is VCS on PC.

Also that brings me to my other idea that I forgot to mention. I've noticed that the projects that survive and have the most success are the ones that accept donations. Donations will motivate people. Now obviously I'm not saying that you should force people to buy the mod as that probably would be illegal and Rockstar could have it shut down.

That's not a reward you'd want after working hard on something, right?

I mean, the people who work on this mod PROBABLY own/have played VCS, they're converting the content over for the PC so we can play it with SA features and mods.

How about you try to ''spread the word'' and get more people interested in helping? That would be nice.

Quite frankly I happen to wonder whether the team have any free time in their personal lives at all. Guys are working really hard on it, and as mentioned by others before, probably way too hard for the mod to still be fun for them. I enjoy the mod very much, but this is where my role ends. What right do we have to demand or push them to do anything? They should do what they enjoy. It's their mod, after all. And if there's any sake for them doing what they do, it's for their own pleasure, and we've got to learn to respect it.

That's what the people on this forum that keep saying ''hey are you going to add this'' ''add this'' ''progress?'' should read, seriously. You just need to wait for them to work IF THEY WANT TO DO IT.
