Depends if the bugs are ever fixed? The more people have bugs, the more we delay missions to fix the current ones. At this rate we'll never get beyond Chapter 1!

I think the team said that they are not really going to do betas anymore now that they have the updater. I'm not sure if that means that they will keep updating Beta 3, or eventually make a Beta 4. Or if it means that they will keep updating it, but eventually update the download for those doing new installs so they don't have a billion updates to install. But I do remember someone saying that they will release model updates. That would be, a few peds are ported then there is a ped update, a few vehicles then a vehicle update, or if a map section is done then they release a map update. So if that is correct, once CP is done with the North Beach section, then they will check for bugs, then update it.

 

Anyways, where in the files is your parachute.dff? I want to use it on SA.

Updater can be used for anything really. It just downloads an installer that takes care of the rest.

Glad to hear it. I hope I'll have the full exterior map soon.

 

But I'm still wondering how your going to keep updating the script and keep our save games working. Can you explain?

 

Also where is the parachute.dff? I'd like to put the parachute fix on my San Andreas install.

Instructions for first spoiler contents:

Search for rapidcrc

Install or unpack

Open rapidcrc and close

Copy and Save first spoiler contents in file.sfv(notepad->save as(All Files)->ok)

Move file sfv to root of beta 3.

Open file.sfv

Wait untill it progress bars are full.

Yes, in the same way the original game did, we have unused Mission Audio packed (in case for future reference) as well as a whole batch of SFX which we'll later use when correcting more audio so people don't have to download it all. In the same way, I suppose all the leftover SA Audio is unused to, but we're not clearing that stuff yet, it's more a finish the entire project before cleaning that sort of thing.

Why won't you tell me where the parachute.dff is? Did you put it in the exe so people can't use it on their normal SA? It isn't in any of the img archives.

Oh sorry, missed that one, you'll find it in default, that's where it's "slotted" in the original game.

Don't worry about it lol.

 

But I looked in default, no parachute.dff. I could try a different IMG tool but I'm not sure. I hope one of the updates didn't delete it. I'll check and see if I'm able to use the parachute in the game. There is gun_para.dff though.

 

Edit: Nope. Wasn't there in the other img tool ether. The archive was last edited in May as well. That is weird because I've used the parachute in game before with no issues.

Yes, its the parachute.dff. It is no where to be found in the VCS files. Maybe its in some random img because it worked ingame.

 

Edit: Found it. It was located in levelxre.img

Can you guys make a "BETA 4 [iNSERT NAME HERE]" full pack once you finish the map for good? So ppl could just get the latest package instead of having to downloading 999 updates.

It will also sort out the multiplayer better since ppl wont have to mess around with too much updates and they just get the latest pack, if you know what i mean.

OMG, let me just explain it for people asking, there will be no numbers. Here is what it will be like:

 

BETA3 // Codename "Blue Hesper"

-- New installer compiling everything from Blue Hesper and all of the updates from the previous months into a single install

Rinse and Repeat, you should all notice no matter what the update is, in the bottom right you'll see BLUE HESPER, Build XXXX. So when all of the map is done, it will be compiled into a new build, so if you need the map in full, you can just ask people to grab the, for example, TBD2 build, that way they'll all at least have the full map, etc.

I still want to know how you guys are keeping saves working. I remember with GTA LC, I'd download the mod, beat the story, then a new update comes out, my save doesn't work anymore and I've got to start over. That was annoying.

Yes, for people who have kept up to date, the game will just download any additional files added into the next build release just to bring the rest of you up to date and to put a new stamp onto the game indicatiing it's now apart of Codename "TBD".

I still want to know how you guys are keeping saves working. I remember with GTA LC, I'd download the mod, beat the story, then a new update comes out, my save doesn't work anymore and I've got to start over. That was annoying.

Just like online games, you get the installer and all patches, and once in a while there is a new installer released containing all latest stuff but if you still have the client up-to-date then all you need is the updater cool.gif
