Vice City Stories: PC Edition

Since we are on the subject, would it be, by chance, that The Clymenus Suite will be included? Even if it's not accessible, I mean at least we can take a peek at the interior somehow

Not at the moment, there are other interiors that take priority, the game already includes two safehouses (Bayshore and The Compound), well, three if you include the Army Barracks at the start, nbeachW was done just to clear off any remaining red spots on the map from previous BETA's, and to also give you guys something nice to look at. tounge.gif

I take it the one HackMan show off earlier is considered Red as well dozingoff.gif

Nice work guys. This is really coming along nicely. Hope the wheel spins. Probably not yet as you can't go over to this area with out cheats.

 

But, there is one other spot that I would like to see converted. The construction site where the Washington Mall is in VC. Thats the only spot where a big difference is from the original VCS, besides the area around the Washington Pay N Spray. Especially you can see the mall from Starfish Island. The mall in Washington which wasn't built yet.

Actually, I showed interior of this safehouse. I think it isn't too much to convert proper model, put the interior to the game, but VCS team guys are professionals and fixing Rockstar bugs with Vertex Colors and some UV stuff with textures, so I can't say. smile.gif

Guess after west island got fully converted, mappers are taking a little rest? Maybe they'll do the most notable part - construction site instead of the mall near Rosenberg's office? In their free time, of course.

I always thought Stories maps were done with less amount of bigger models. For example, the whole fun park with Ferris wheel is one big single model. That's what I thought, I mean. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know how it's really done, but would be glad to.

It's three models, otherwise you'd have the whole thing rotating. tounge.gif

And every cabin in the wheel is separate. Or like doors in vehicle's model file. Anyway, you got what I mean.

GTA SA has lots of house interiors. Would it be possible to keep some of those interiors in the game so that we later could use them in multiplayer when scripting houses?

There are also lots of useless interiors which could be deleted and replaced by the various VCS businesses interiors, as well as the Hyman Stadium, but the SA house interiors are very useful as well.

So after building the VCS house interiors, if you could leave some SA ones it'd be great wink.gif

@The SA business interiors, there are also multiple clothes stores interiors, etc, which we could either use them all or just one or two and delete the less popular in order to make space for others. Things like the generic stuff you know, so that we can allow players inside the buildings more often than just having an icon outside the door. I'd be happy enough if we could get 1 one of the clothes store interior from SA and some house interiors.

We also have SA bar interiors, but those can easily be replaced by Malibu (if you convert it from VC), Pole Position Club, the gay bar interior and the bikers bar(from VC).

Those are really a plus in the game. The bikers' bar interior tho doesn't have collision in VC as it's only used for cutscene so if you eventually decide to bring it up u'd have to fix the collision of the objects inside it as well as its' roof collision so that you won't climb outside. That bikers interior can be directly accessed in VC if you delete the entrance door afaik.

 

For example: all the SAPD interiors are kinda useless here as VCS has its own in washington. So those would make sense deleting to make up space for other VCS interiors.

The map was scrapped completely, so really, those interiors don't even exist here. tounge.gif We're adding the interiors from the game (of course) and even bringing in some extra ones such as Kings Knuts, which was only used for one mission in the original but is just too good of an interior to waste. If anything we'd be up for adding in some Vice City interiors (Malibu and Pole Position taking priority) but we wouldn't add any San Andreas stores/rooms.

SA interiors don't even look right in '84. Maybe they'll make some appropriate ones that won't look out of place and time.

My worry about the interiors is to have some spare house interiors and 1 clothes store so we can fill-in houses and give clothes changing business a purpose rather than just an icon at the door in MP gamemodes.

VCS already has a couple of house interiors, like the safehouses, Louise's house and the prawn island mansions. Don't forget about Diaz Mansion too ;D, but Im afraid it lacks some general house interiors for the normal house buildings thats why I brought this up.

Although SA's house interiors dont fit Vice City's era, the Las Venturas hotel suits interiors are good enough to fill-in some hotel buildings smile.gif think about it.

I'm not fully certain what you're asking for, is this Multiplayer related or something? There's a good chunk of interiors in VCS and of course we'll have some VC ones to bump it up if we feel the need to add them, what purpose would, for example, adding the Las Venturas Hotel Suites to the Ocean Beach Hotels serve? The player has no interaction with them, we're not going to add more safehouses in that style, they'd just be there doing nothing really.

Obviously it cannot be converted, it would have to be made from scratch. But I think it would be a great extra feature. On the original VC, on the intro you can see Vic using a flowery shirt, similar to Tommy's one. Just my opinion wink.gif .

I'm not fully certain what you're asking for, is this Multiplayer related or something? The purpose is for Multiplayer related servers, for example RolePlay servers in which you can script houses, hotels etc at our own likes, but then we'd need an interior that looks like an hotel suit for example because we can't just script interiors. Since they exist in SA, it wouldn't hurt taking advantage over it rather than having to model one from scratch.

This mod is singleplayer but a multiplayer SAMP adaptation can be made and so the mod goes popular and gets sustainable while the community can have fun playing in multiplayer in diverse gamemodes.

Guys, the Italian translation of the game is pretty out of place, some terms don't fit in the game and some other words are changed to avoid curse words and similar.

So I think changing a little bit of it could be a nice thing to do, when users (like me) will be useful to translate texts.

Edit: Oh, and a question. What about music during the loading screen? Some results since months ago?

What I'd like to see is Vercetti's clothes available on VCS PC Edition for Vic. I just think Tommy's clothes are great, and fit the '80s. Tommy's street outfit is classic. Obviously it cannot be converted, it would have to be made from scratch. But I think it would be a great extra feature. On the original VC, on the intro you can see Vic using a flowery shirt, similar to Tommy's one. Just my opinion wink.gif .

I personally think that there should be no extras because it kind of ruins the VCS experience. I just want a port from PS2 to PC. That's just my opinion.

We wouldn't consider that idea anyway, Vic has plenty of clothing, plus then some when we include the BETA versions to (unless you have something against that to?), so we don't feel like Vic needs any extra costumes.

Technically yes, but it would have to be with each object separated to complete the interiors and then we'd have to mount them ingame by placing the objects etc. Problem is, custom.img doesn't self update whenever a change is made.

If hard-coded in GTASA, all we need is to teleport inside the interior.

Important VCS PC Edition Update!

 

Due to a number of complains regarding extra stuff Rockstar didn't include with the original game, the VCS PC team is proud to announce that the modification will be for PSP and PS2 only. This ensures that the game plays exactly like Rockstar intended. All extra improvements have been removed as well.

 

 

A few people have been very vocal, no extra content. We aim to appease so the modification will now be a straight port of VCS PSP and PS2 to both the PSP and PS2. To that end, the modification has been renamed Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.

 

Word is that the modification will release October 31, 2006 on PSP and March 6, 2007 for PS2.

Right now, we are making sure EVERY beta/additional content is decimated - they know about our plans and these bastards try to flee, but Vic ain't gonna let them escape!

Blasphemy! The resolution of the screenshot should be 480x272! There shouldn't be any sign of AA! STOP ALTERING ROCKSTAR'S VISION.
