By any chance, what file did you guys use for the resolution fix? I'd like to put it in the normal SA so I can play it at full resolution.

You can also use MTASA to set your resolution.

If you look at the first post in the Progress section, you'll notice a list of missions there, that's actually our target for Beta 3, those 16 missions make up what's known as Chapter/Phase 1 of the VCS story, it's also known as "Pre-Empire" which should be a bit of a hint as to how Empire Buildings go. tounge.gif We also want to pack in more side missions to, we already have the Taxi ones done, people expecting the entire game to be done for Beta 3 will sadly be in for a let down, we've chosen a point in the story that makes sense where to stop and also want to make sure there's enough side stuff for people to do to.

I just look forward to map conversion first, since it'd make difference between San Vice and VCS PCE biggrin.gif Also it'd help greatly for my comic (just for fun) when talking about Vice City in-the-past biggrin.gif

Yep, that's when the Mission side will be considered "Complete", just waiting for Mapping and Interiors to be converted first so Silent can start on the mission that needs them.

We don't know, but for BETA 3 we're trying to do as many things we can. including Map, nearly all the Vehicles, more Peds than before, the first chapter of the story, a good chunk of side missions, etc, so you guys can at least play through the first part of VCS in a seemingly normal way.

One question comes to my mind: I guess for the Beta 3 there will not be a Beta 2 to 3? To my mind seems difficult, just to know if it will require a clean install?

And as a word of warning, I think we are blocking off incompatible EXE's this time so you won't even be able to start the game unless you have the correct EXE, this is a response from the amount of people playing Beta 2 with the wrong EXE and then complaining to us about it. tounge.gif

You guys really should do that from Beta#2, lol

 

Maybe the warning pop-up should tell people to look for compatible EXE via Google too, that way this topic won't be flooded with "Where can I find compatible exe" question turn.gif

Before there were people complaining about incompatibilities issues, now they'll ask what means the message "Wrong EXE file detected", and where to get a correct one x) But should be better than it is smile.gif

 

Thanks for details smile.gif Ah, forgot about saves: will they be compatible with Beta 2 or the fact there's new missions could crash the game after loading, if the info "No mission left" is saved in saves (Dunno)?

As with any major scripting changes, I'm afraid it does render the old saves incompatible, one of the first things changed in Beta 3 was an overhaul of the op codes so right away the missions were rendered void with the old saves. tounge.gif

Also please remove the VCS PC Edition logo. Its annoying when I minimize the game, its in the middle of the screen and when I click it, it disappears, but so do radio stations. At least make it so the logo disappears when the game launches.

Actually, it's possible to remove the logo and still have the process running in the background.

Since it's a process, wouldn't it be possible to give it a GUI window then we can click Minimize button?

I'm hoping to remove SAORS at all and return to launching the mod via gta_sa.exe (which I do all the time anyway).

When that's done you should supply the exe so it has the icon changed, and still named gta_vcs.exe. Just to keep it VCS and less SA. It would also reduce people ignoring the message that they get about the wrong exe then complaining about crashing.
