Nope. Have you noticed that PS2 version of VCS has more polies than PSP one? Of course, PC Edition has to be even higher quality.

I don't think that it has to have even more polys. The polycount of the objects in SA is the same on PS2, PC and XBOX but PC and XBOX just have the COL3 shadow system and better textures. However I already suggested to use slightly higher quality textures but they don't want that. confused.gif

Only because it would seem unbalanced.

 

I know what you guys think, if there's higher quality textures available, why not use them? True, there's textures from Vice City and Vice City Xbox which are similar, but then again, what about the VCS stuff? Do you realise how jarring it is to have buildings and vehicles with Xbox textures next to VCS vehicles?

 

Why don't you remake the textures?

Good point, but no one wants to help with that, I've been asking around to get the Weapon HUD Icons remade properly but no one seems interested in that either. Simply put, if no one wants to help us on these things, we're not going to do them!

 

We're going to focus on what we CAN do, which is convert maps, vehicles, peds, script missions, etc and at the moment have it pretty damn close quality to the PS2 version with a few extras!

I never said that you must make it HD. I just said that getting quality a bit higher is logically true, especially since you told a lot of pages ago that you're making them slightly better than original.

Well I could help. Vehicles and the city are not a big problem for me.

Besides, the textures don't have to be 512x512 or even 1024x1024. 256x256 looks fine and it doesn't ruin the atmosphere.

Add some "glue", it may not be in the original interior however it would suit the PC port.

Let me ask you a question. You are handling 10.000+ texture files at 256 x 256. Suddenly someone throws in a few one at 512 x 512 and requests you to do the same. What do you do? Reworking on the 10.000+ files to match the new one, OR just ignore 'em since the old one are already good enough?

Of course I'll ignore that mother**cker, you did good today. I always voted for staying as close to the original as possible. They just did say they're adding a few polies to curbs at crossroads (while modelling them) to make them smoother.

Oh that reminds me, City Poke, did the Cabbie/Taxi/Zebra need to be fixed? Been working on a texture for that (and went a wild actually doing like different animals tounge.gif)

So, City_Poke912 is gonna reconvert every single vehicle (even if it's recreated before), or just reconvert vehicles looking bad at the current stage + all absent?

So yeah, the day started well, I've been long overdue to make a new Zebra texture for THAT certain vehicle since we're using the original VC one in BETA2 which kinda looks contrasted compared to the other Cabs, so, yeah, that started well, done a few small tweaks of a basic Zebra pattern, and voila, potential new Zebra Cab:

But then, I got a bit bored, so I started mixing things up, WHAT IF, it's a Leopard Cab?

Nah, that didn't look so good, what about a Giraffe?

Not bad, really brings out the Orange, but wait, hell yeah, what about Tiger?

Now that's hot, let's cool things down, Snake Skin Cab!

And then I thought, COW! But then said to myself "Stop that, this is getting silly" and i realised I've spent the past 40 or so minutes messing with Animal Pattern Textures. tounge.gif

 

No real progress, just though I'd share with you guys what happens when I get bored, haha.
