Vice City Stories: PC Edition

Got some questions.

Are the animation of the caracters going to be the same as Vice City Stories?

Are all the missions going to be converted?

 

Any hypotetical release date for the final version? Thanks smile.gif

Again, that's the goal, but we won't know if they could make it or not. 4-people-team can take LONG time to accomplish such huge objective

The thing will be even more interesting, I hope.

If it's empire system, something that resembled this was done in Great Theft Car Mod. This is a feature that was going to be used in SA, so a little coding to enhance the engine more would make it looks like Vice City Stories.

I'm sure he's asking Silent how's his progress on PLAYING IV going, last he told me he said he couldn't wait to start EFLC. Also I'm kinda curious about what stuff you guys know because I'm almost certain we revealed a feature on here that someone else has brought up recently asking if we have it. tounge.gif

lol keep it on San Andreas engine. it looks almost identical already, no point ruining it in the tool-less crappy hd era.

for me GTA Vice City engine look more like VCS

They used GTA SA Engine with tweaks not VCS it's almost.

VC would fit, however it doesn't have the things VCS had like planes with wheels, 3rd person camera moving, ect.

 

Don't bother with Rage. Not needed. I think you guys should focus on the SA engine, however if someone else wants to do a Rage version that would be cool. It would be cool if the Rage version was for EFLC TLAD so you can put it with VCR. Then you would have the original VC, and VCS. But SA is the best engine to have this on, but the changed sounds should be put back to the VC/VCS ones.

 

EX: Motorcycles, Helicopters, Planes, Swimming (splash too), Weapons, Some Cars, ect...

 

The SA engine could use a few tweaks to the way the sky looks, and the draw distance, so its like the other III era games. But the cool thing about SA is it has the much better height limit. Even though its not VCS, its way better. If you don't like it, don't fly so high lol. Same goes for climbing and underwater swimming.

It would be, but me, the VCS team, and a lot of others believe that SA is the best host for the mod primarily, and would rather have something more like the original game than one that's different. They want to bring the ORIGINAL VCS to PC, and this is as close as they can get.

 

Fact: The team should (and said they will) stick to SA because it's their best shot at original VCS to PC. For those who want it on Rage and feel up to it, PORT IT YOUR SELF.

 

This is a mod that I and many others would like to play on SA. smile.gif Trust me, it's better as the original. If there was a VCS PC Edition from Rockstar, then I could see.

It doesn't hurt for 2 version like i said they still get 2 versions just have 2 teams working on RAGE and SA Version.I am willing to help out i have some free time.

ShakingASS, the thing is, Silent, Luten, HackMan and myself work like mad on the small details, things we can't do in GTA IV/EFLC. So if there was two versions, one for SA and one for IV/EFLC, you know what you would end up with? One that plays like a VCS/SA hybrid, looks like VCS, Menu structure that acts like VCS, models and handling that are VCS, Animations from VCS, etc, ...and then you'd have one that just looks pretty (IV/EFLC), which in all honesty is a waste of our time.

 

Not doubting if someone took this and ported it to IV/EFLC, you'd be done in days as you're just converting Map, Player Models and a few Vehicle Models, etc, from stuff that's already done. Where as the San Andreas version, thanks to Silent, we're keeping this down to using as much of the games resources as possible, to try and keep it close to running bare bones without THAT many add on's, for example, the cutscenes are built properly, the audio for the cutscenes and animations do have their own packed archive "CUTSCENES" and "CUTS", small things like that.

 

Now, the status of a release is something that's always on shaky ground, if we're honest, the original list for BETA2 release has mostly been passed, but we keep finding other things that we want to tweak and sort out before putting it out there, which lead up to Silent's latest discovery which he's very proud to get working on the San Andreas engine.

 

To end off, just to update on a few things, Shaking Cars when going at top speed, that's not the new feature, but we do have that in the build. since this mod requires EXE 1.0, we've also added 16:9 resolution support (which wasn't available until EXE 1.1), that's all I'll clear up for now, hope Silent can get around to posting his updates. tounge.gif

Ash right,all the stuff you've done in the making this mod for SA engine can't be done in Iv cuz they have different type of script,& i guess it can took you about 1 years to finish this on RAGE.so better do this on SA engine !

I understand.Maybe later after you get most of it done on SA version could move to making IV/EFLC version.I get what you mean by why it's a purpose on using SA it is indeed close to VCS.

I'll repeat what Luten already said

 

 

We don't have interest in IV/EFLC

 

So, the team will NEVER work on bringing this mod to IV era. If someone want that, they can do it themself

Minus the not being able to run IV part.

 

The goal of this mod simply can not be reached with IV/EFLC. However an improved version of Chinatown Wars on IV/EFLC is one that would be cool.

 

But for VCS. Keep it SA. I would still play a 3rd party port though. Glad the team isn't going to do IV, and their aiming for a 100% remake of VCS and not some fancy Rage VCS.

 

PS: Maybe someday someone will make a program that will allow you to export LCS/VCS models to 3d Max, so you can use those. It would make your life easier.

Let me guess. A tool that will allow you to convert models from VCS to SA. (Or some other file type.)

 

I just finished VCS today on my PS Vita. Ive beat the game before though. I must admit, the Light My Pipe mission is a bitch. It would be neat if you could make an alternative version of the mission. Perhaps Luise lives, and the dating feature from GTA SA can be used. I could understand if you choose not to do this but it would be cool.
