Yes we did. We have all guns from VCS smile.gif

Thanks you guys you appreciate our hard work smile.gif For now we can convert all cutscenes with all aspects. I mean face movements, objects, etc. :3

on the beta2 release, can you remake the original trailer? that would be cool

Not possible, the original trailer had cutscenes from the END of the game mixed in, we're only dealing with the first batch so far.

Did you guys possibly work on the original VCS? This mod is so f*cking close to the real VCS.

But is it possible you guys cold work on the Jet Ski? (Wet Ski) I really want to see how it will work on SA. That may be a hard one to do, but after seeing the hard work you put into the mod, I'm sure you guys will pull it off.

Only differences this mod has from VCS are things VCS should of had. (Underwater swimming, higher height limit for planes, more planes, going out to the ocean, ect). But if you guys are going to try to make the 100% VCS experience and take those things out, make them optional.

Also if you remake the original trailer, just throw in the clips from the original that are of parts of the game that are not done yet. Yes there things that are not in the mod yet, but one people won't be able to tell the difference, and two it shows how close the mod looks to the real game. If you remade the original trailer, it would literally look exactly the same as the original game. This mod is very impressive, and is the closest GTA remake out there, along side GTA LC which remakes GTA III in VC. Just like GTA LC, this mod deserves an award.

VCS wasn't exactly finished upon original release anyway (PSP) so, the PS2 added more rampages, stunts, etc, changed the map (most noticeable on Starfish Island), but a lot of things were rushed, so we're just doing what we can and improving upon that, for example, we are making use of the extra vehicle slots, you'll see one of them in BETA2. One thing that was missing in VCS, which didn't make sense was climbing, Vic could climb out of water but couldn't climb walls, in VCS PC Edition, we've left that in and it looks fine with Vic's animations, plus our Vic doesn't have that animation bug that the official PSP/PS2 version had (climb out of water and Vic suddenly "lands" on the path).

I can't stress enough how much effort Luten, HackMan and Silent put into this, those guys are doing the main bulk of work and sorting things out, at this point I'm just Quality Assurance tounge.gif But I am making sure small things gets done to contribute to the feeling, here's a WIP shot of the Audio menu:

Most people won't really notice, but the change there is that the Radio Icons no longer zoom out/in depending on what's selected, instead it uses the GTA3 style of all being max size right away and not moving, only being highlighted if selected, which is how it is on VCS, because of the menu layout though, it funnily enough looks more like the Vice City Xbox arrangement, which we can assure you, was a complete coincidence. But that's just an example of the small details I'm looking for and helping Silent work on. smile.gif

That is true man. The PSP version also sometimes was slightly laggy. But they may of had more space to work with on the PS2 version and wanted to add some PS2 exclusive content. But if the map wasn't finished on the PSP version, wouldn't that mean that original GTA IV's map, and the DLC version of TLAD's map isn't finished compared to EFLC?

But one request. Can you guys make it so we can enter interiors? What I mean is those mission interiors that you cant go in outside the mission, for example, that Bar, the Stadium, Mendez House, Mendez house basement, and the Cargo Ship. I may be missing a few.

After a year of delay, i rule out that the possibility that that is likely. EFLC was probably just additions to make it look and feel like NY and better

We are looking into expanding such things when the time comes, still a long way off, in BETA2 the only interiors we have are Vic's Army/Bayshore safehouses and Phil's shooting range by the docks, but yeah, we are far off from the bigger interiors which are mainly on the East Island, right now, it's just noted down, we MIGHT bring back The Malibu Club and Pole Position to, but that won't be done until most of the East Island is done first.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that VCS trailers are made using: Text layer + black frame + loadscreens scrolling in background + music? I remember seeing no actual gameplay in the VCS trailer (While VC trailer use in-game footage)

By glitches you can smile.gif if you use a helicopter, go to stadium, use a glitch to go through top of a window, u go in empty space, glide down into underworld, and a interior loads. And the roof of the stadium is unsolid (interior) and u can run around everywhere in the stadium interior, without cheats or hacks! smile.gif I watched a youtube vid and did it myself. It's real. But ideally this is something for a final version or later beta's not this early on in the mod. They have better things to do then make a trailer, sorry for sounding a bit rude.

Thought same, but the suggestions can come even on early stages, then devs are free to put it on their to do list for later smile.gif

I never got to play the game on PS2, completed it on PSP though. What stuff did they change on the map? Very intrigued.

One thing I remember distinctly is the ridiculous bug where it wouldn't save any garage cars. The sign of a rushed game.

Finally, how long is it taking you to convert those cutscenes?

Just a question. Could you post some pics of the map differences between the PS2 version of VCS and the PSP version of VCS? Never really noticed them, except for the Easter egg where you jump from the heli pad into the building and there is a mini crane in there. (It is where the chocolate Easter egg was in the original VC)

It's mainly Starfish Island. First off, the tree's, most of them were removed on the PSP version giving the island a more empty look, but this created an easy way to get onto the second island, so the tree's were added back into the PS2 version (Also more likely because the PS2 could handle the extra foliage streaming), Diaz's mansion was altered, mainly the construction part, the unfinished pool was expanded and a stunt jump was added there. Other changes are where things have been slightly altered to allow new stunt jumps.

Thank you ash for actually explaining the differences between PSP and PS2. No one every actually says what the differences are they just say that they're are differences which is annoying so thank you very much. Starfish Island Is Completely done by the looks of it, or is something still missing?

It's actually kind of been done, PS2 Side Missions were ported into the PSP version when the mod tools were first available, it's how people also found BETA models from the game including a Vic Vance in an alt styled Army Uniform and different face.

Hey, I was wondering if you need another modeller?

I can do hard edged stuff (vehicles, objects) not so great with building prelighting or map editing though.

I'd be willing to take on vehicles. Right now I'm experimenting with creating an alternate vehicle.txd with vice city-esque textures.

Ma's Hitmen from LCS was reused in VCS where Vic got ambushed at the beginning.
