need help making ginput thing working with ps4 controller

hi i need help making the ginput thing working with the ps4 controller, because i want to be able to use pressure sensitive triggers, i copied it in gta sa directory and the controller is ignored like it isn't there, i remove all its crappy files and it works again except the 2 triggers wich act like a button, gta sa is 1.0, i reinstalled it recently but it wasnt't working even before reinstalling it, i dont know why they tell it is straightforward that it will work without editing anything but in fact it doesn't at all, not even a sign of life

In addition to GInput you will need to use x360ce to generate xinput dll's and throw them in your SA directory, its what works for me. Also use DS4Windows to configure DualShock 4 and not x360ce, tho it will work either way.

i copied the xinput that x360ce generated in the sa directory and installed ginput but still controller doesnt wanna do anything like before, i guess i did something wrong (im not good at all in this stuff)

tried using ds4 windows aswell but still the same: controller ignored

Just to make sure, you do have asi loader installed right?

 

It's wierd really, i had all sorts of controllers, even 3rd party ones and it always worked. Now im using DualShock 4 and it works perfectly fine.

i have emergency lights and works perfect with cleo on samp so i think asi loader is ok

before i had annother install of gta sa 1.0 it wasn't working even on that one but i messed it up and i deleted the installation files like an idiot :P and i had to download a different one because i could not remember where i got it and still not working on this current one, but asi loader works and says loaded 2 scripts so i think it loads the ginput asi, it also removes the option in controls setup where you choose betwen kb+mouse and joypad

i also tried using ds4 windows but same results

actually no i discovered that after removing ginput. asi still says 2 loaded so it doesnt load it i think, just locks up the controller XD

That is one of the problems, I don't know how your SA is set up, what mods are used, was the SA fully installed (along with User Track Player), there is many variables.

What i know is that I "made" my install with the help of this tutorial, and it works for me perfectly so far. I still use same guidelines and same provided files when i mess up one of my installs.

Thats the last i have to offer for now, cuz im currently out of ideas lol.

I'm trying to set up a different controller (GameSir G4) but having similar issues to yourself.

 

Ran x360ce, mapped the game controller, saved, and then closed the program. Copied the x360ce.ini and xinput1_3.dll to the root directory of the game.

 

Copied the GInputSA.asi, GInputSA.ini, and the models directory (with the *.txd files) to the root directory of the game.

 

 

Ran the game but it acts as if the controller isn't connected.

 

I believe i have a working ASI loader since i have things like the WideScreen Fix working. Among some other important mods listed here on a Steam community post. I've downgraded from the latest Steam version to V1 and then installed the mods as suggested. I've done it because i want the original radio stations with all of the tracks, so it'll feel exactly the same as when i originally played the game; i don't know if it'll resolve it? but i'm hoping it will.

 

I've attempted to rename the xinput dll as the help page on x360ce suggested but i've had no joy with it.
