I ventured out yesterday to Sam’s Club to pick up a few items and it amazed me how many elderly people weren’t wearing mask, I think I maybe saw one older couple wearing a mask while every younger person I saw were wearing mask.
 

It just amazes me how flippiant these older people are but a few of them were Trumpers saw a few MAGA hats and even saw one woman wearing a shirt that said My Body, My Choice then a picture of a mask with a red X on it

 

They're doing this knowing Cases are on the rise again in my state.

Yes it all could have been so sweet, but no. Someone had to have some big idea jeans on. Well look where that got us. Instead I'm sitting here getting paid to do f*ck all on the off chance someone can't fix a simple problem with the tools they rely on everyday because why would they learn to do something for themselves? They don't need to. I guess its a good thing too, since it creates a paycheck for me.

 

Hell I can sit here all day and be outraged on the internet instead. Have you guys heard of flat earth? Well, if you haven't you'll see the tweet soon. I'm not an expert, but I have plenty of time to play one on the internet. When you have a moment, stroke my ego a little, wont you?

There's this old lady that comes into our store sometimes who has been caught not wearing a mask. I think she has alzheimer's or something. Month ago Some lady yelled at her to wear a mask it's the law. Old lady is like what Law? Governor Hogan passed a ordinance to wear masks. Old lady didn't know security comes over explains and gives her a mask lady that yelled at her said that it won't matter because old lady will walk away and take the mask off when no one sees her. Weeks later I see that same old lady again not wearing a mask.

Sadly while Gov DeWine who is Republican bowed to his party and protesters and revoked his order that mask have to be worn in public less than 24 hours after he signed the order, other than that DeWine is one of the few Republican Gov who took swift action and ignored Trumps order to reopen the states right away and everything the only thing he's done that I disagreed with was the revoking the mask order.

 

So right now mask policies are made by the establishments themselves and most of them have made it Optional. Sam's Club being one of them but I still wear a mask to set an example to my girls even though i'm supposedly immune to getting COVID again as I got it back in March and I obviously don't want my girls getting it especially with that inflammatory disease affecting children that has been showing up in some kids who caught the virus that affects motor functions and in some cases even killed a few even though they survived the virus itself.

 

I don't know why these people refuse to just wearing a mask if not for yourself but for others, Even though I only had a mild case I wouldn't even wish that on my worse enemy the feeling of not being able to catch your breath at times was scary as hell now imgaine that but 10 times worse to where you need a machine to breath for you and a lot of those people going on those machines never came off of them and died.

 

Friend of mine who is an ICU nurse called me crying on night after her shift after three of her patients died within 10 minutes of each other and she described to me how those who aren't yet on a vent are crying in agony from the pain and headaches in some cases the doctors are giving these patients Fentanyl which is 100x stronger than morphine and usually isn't given outside of trauma's and sever chronic pain patients such as myself (I am on the patch) and she says even that doesn't seem to help some of them and the doctors are afraid to give them sedatives such as Ketamine which they usually would give.

 

She says coupled with those scream and moaning in main you have patients pleading with the doctors not to put them on a vent because they're afraid and rightfully so that if they go on a vent they may never come off of it and she said this was a daily occurance of patients just going downhill so fast sometimes they don't even have time to talk to the patient about it.

 

I bet if some of those who are being flippant and saying My Body. My Choice went to a COVID ICU floor and saw what my friend told to me they wouldn;t be so arrogant about this but some people are just so damn stupid they'd rather listen to a orange man in a toupe telling them to drink bleach than the numbers and science for a minute Trump was on the right track about wearing a mask then he had his Mt Rushmore rally and once again told people mask weren't mandatory.

Was watching the news and some expert said that if you can't walk into a store and light a cigarette. Walking into a store and not wearing a mask should be treated the same way.

 

Scientists are discovering new ways on how this virus spreads. Sure the dummies are going to die but they're going to take a few of us with them.

My favorite kind of people right now are those on facebook and twitter openly flaunting not wearing a mask and saying "I ain't going to catch the kung-flu" then a week or so later they're posting about how sick they are and how they don't understand how they got sick or why they're feeling so badly some still refusing to believe they got the virus and saying it's just The Flu, There was a facebook post from a woman in Demark or The Netherlands i forget where saying the virus was a hoax and a bunch of right wing crap then suddenly two weeks later her family is announcing that she has died and set up a GFM Page asking for help paying for her funeral at first admitting she died from COVID but then edited the page to say her cause of death was Unknown and Sudden.

 

There was another facebook post someone shared on Reddit where the guy said the virus was a hoax and challenged it to come and get him Not only did the virus accept his challenge the virus won the ultimate prize and now his family is blaming the govonorment for not taking more steps to protect us from the China Virus and someone posted on that post saying.....If only he wore a mask he'd be alive today.

 

Then you got these assholes who say they're exempt from wearing a mask because it makes it hard to breath but in all the videos posted online they're breathing just fine as they're yelling at the top of there lungs, I actually developed asthma as part of this virus and now need an inhale several times a day so a mask really does make it harder for me to breath but I still wear one so If I can wear one so can everybody else.

 

Right about smokers you don't hear smokers screaming about how they can't have a smoke while in a store or restaurant so why bitch about wearing a mask it's simple as policy

 

My favorite part of Trumps latest rhetoric is The reason why the numbers are so high is because we're testing so many people and if we didn't test so many our numbers wouldn't be so high.

 

My youngest who is only 10 is a smart little cookie for her age, We were at the table eating dinner the other night when she put down her fork and gave me a puzzeled look and I asked her what was wrong and she looked down for a second then looked back and me I don't get it, Get what I asked She said...

 

How will the virus go away if they stop testing? Stopping the testing doesn't mean the virus will suddenly go away right? Like people are still going to get sick right?

 

I told her she was indeed correct..

 

So then why does the president want to stop testing? Stopping the test will only mean the number of sick people won't be counted anymore it won't make the virus go away does the president really think if they stop testing people the virus will just magiclly go away?

They really pulled that one out of their ass because Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act allows the government to expand the type of conduct that the government can investigate when it is investigating "terrorism." The USA PATRIOT Act expanded governmental powers to investigate terrorism, and some of these powers are applicable to domestic terrorism.

 

#4 Only a license doctor has the authority to prescribe a mask therefore you are practicing medicine without a license which is a felony offense - Since a mask isn't a controller substance and can be bought over the counter it's not practicing without a license and also total and complete bullsh*t

 

 I love how at the bottom they threaten them by being reported to a non-existence government agency and not being able to wear a mask is not a disability and trying to use the ADA to legitimize it is a slap in the face to those of us who have actual disabilities

 

I was in my local grocery store which is a family owned store and they require a mask for anybody who comes into the store and someone stands at the door stopping people who aren't wearing one, Anyways I was shooting the breeze with the old man who owns the place when the young man who was on mask duty comes up to the CS Counter where we were chatting with an irate woman demanding to speak to the owner and when he said he was the owner she screamed that this Little Punk said I can't come into the store without a mask even after I showed him my Face Exemption card issued to me by the U.S Government.

 

He looked at me and kindly smirked so I knew he was up to something so he asked the lady to see her card for verification and if it was valid he'd let her into the store she did her best Karen hrmp at the young kid as if to say Told you so, so she took out her card and the owner looked at it and said Hmm well it looks official I just need to check one more thing and then in one swoop removed the scissor from the little holder on his desk and cut the card in half picked up the two piece and then cut them in half away and gave them back to the lady and said get out of here with this fake bullsh*t and never come back and the 

his best Customer Service Voice says, Have a nice day then turned back to me and said So where we're we? while she just stood there gulping air like a fish.

 

That there made me remember why I loved working for him when I was in high school he doesn't take sh*t from anybody and he actually let his employees not take sh*t from anybody and when I was promoted to manager I was actually allowed to have a backbone and tell a customer to f*ck off when they pulled the Customer Is Always Right card we got to tell them, No in this store they're not and gave them the choice to either suck it up or leave and in many cases they shut up when they learned they weren't going to get their way over a $0.02 issue.

 

He is the only store in the area that allows their employes to refuse to serve a hostle customer and absolutely refuses to accept Boob & Waist money in the summer we had a huge issue of women wanting to pay with money they kept in their Bra's or under their boob or the waist of their pants making the money disgustingly wet. One time I even had a woman pull the money from her panties and attempt to hand it to me.

 

When they did that we would tell them they would either need to pay by check, card or go to the ATM and withdraw money as it was against store policy to accept their boob money and if they threw a fit we were allowed to say those are you options or you can step out of line and put your items back and come back when you have clean money.

 

Other stores especally Walmart where Boob Money is the norm they have no choice but to accept it and they don't provide the cashiers with gloves either, One time I was behind a woman who decided to pay with boob money and I knew it was going to be soaked as she was just beading sweat the poor girl behind the counter turned several shades of green before she got the idea of getting a paper towel from under her station and asked the woman to place the money in the towel.

 

The woman got offended and said it's not like I have aids or anything it's just a litle wet from me sweating.

 

Poor girl just wanted to slink into a hole and never come out i'm sure

This video is great they talk about all the people who died in China for wearing a mask, Just one problem people in China have been wearing mask looooong before this virus ever came about and nobody was dying then but all the sudden theyre dying now.

 

 

 

They accuse the Fake News Media of fear mongering but In this video they share the tragic story of a little girl died because her oxygen level dropped so low because she was wearing a mask while playing - Just one little problem it never happened there have been NO reported deaths from people wearing mask

I saw that card. What made it for me is that card had a typo (posses instead of poses) on it. I can't believe how much of an extra mile these people will go just so they can put themselves at risk.

This isn't really that surprising, there cases of plague in china are not unheard of (especially in the south east, although this one is in the north), infact, the causative agent, Yersina pestis, was first isolated in Hong Kong, by a Japanese physician. Alexandre Yersin got the credit, however.

 

Many cases of the plague in the west are often from people who travelled from China, and Chinese cases aren't uncommon, so this new case is absolutely nothing to worry about; with modern antibiotics, the plague is not as bad as it once was. Doxycyline ftw.

Ah that would be Naegleria fowleri. It causes meningoencephalitis. It's detected with a lumbar puncture. It's not unheard of in Florida, especially in freshwater lakes. It was also a problem in Karachi (my parents' hometown, I was born in London myself, so I'm not really an expert on Pakistan, haven't been there in ages), the reason is that there is so much f*cking corruption. It wasn't really that prevalent in the city until a few years ago. It mostly affected kids playing in the water, and there's also the ablution before the 5 daily prayers (it gains entry into the cranial cavity using the olfactory nerve (there are holes (foramina) in the cribriform plate of the ethmoid bone, I could bore you all for hours about that particular topic...), and since the wudu involved cleaning the nasal cavity with water, the parasite gained access to the cranial cavity. Infact, when I perform the ablution, I often think about N fowleri haha). It isn't as much of a problem now, since everybody there is using bottled water for ablutions now (ironically this is mostly from Nestle, who enjoy robbing Pakistani villages of their water). IIRC the water treatment there is alot better than it was a few years ago. But cases still happen in the city every now and then. But it mostly affects the poor, and politicians in south asia only care about the poor when it's near election day. It also affects some places in India, too. There was a case in Kolkata last year. 

 

As for Florida, the parasite naturally lives in warm freshwater lakes and rivers there. Tbh, the parasite lives in freshwater lakes all over the US, but infections are still rare. There are also cases in other states, especially Texas and the Carolinas. It's all about risk really, even then, it's a really small risk. I think only 30 or so people in the US got N.fowleri over a 9 year period. 

 

 

As for covid 19, I'm pissed off at the UK government reopening pubs. Some have already closed again because punters tested positive for the virus. Then Boris has the cheek to blame underfunded care homes... you can't blame people for the mess your party created! Then again, I'm not a fan of Starmer, either. I feel really sad for the cancer patients, many have had their chemo stopped. There's also the fact that as less people are seeking medical attention, people will present with red flag symptoms later, so cancer patients will be diagnosed when their cancer is at a more advanced stage.

No surprise I would probably not touch anything that isn't bottled. If I couldn't properly verify whether the tap water has been cleaned or not then I would just wash my face in bottled water everyday. Even with the low infection rates I would be pretty paranoid.

Oh, I'm one of those guys that thinks about medical stuff nearly all the time. It's not paranoia, per se. More like spontaneous revision...  

That said, I don't drink tap water either. I used to, but I started drinking bottled water and never looked back (when I do drink tap water I can taste the difference, and I prefer bottled water BY FAR)

 

From my perspective, if I developed those symptoms, I'd probably put bacterial meningitis as my main diagnosis, considering how ~18% of humans have Neisseria meningitidis in their nasopharynx, and the fact that no vaccine is 100% effective. N fowleri would only be on the list if I was diving in freshwater, and even then, it wouldn't be in my top 5. Then again, an LP would be performed anyway, provided that there aren't any contraindications. 

 

That said, I am worried on whether I will start my final year on time or not. I don't trust the general public of this country to be reasonable lol. Other degrees at other unis are going online (imo they shouldn't have to pay 9k for THAT), and my med school hasn't been very clear on several things. Final year has to involve ward placements, it cannot be taught online.

It's funny how at first, the WHO state that there is no evidence that face masks protect you from the virus and even recommended that the public do NOT wear a mask to save it for the health workers, but a few months later, they change their mind and recommend their use in public. 

 

Even according to the NHS, face masks do not offer protection against the virus and recommend personal hygiene and avoid touching your face and eyes with dirty hands more so than face masks.

They say that face masks are only recommended for those who are already infected, and face masks do a decent job at preventing the spread of the virus to other people, but you also have to think about those who are asymptomatic. I remember going out when I had lost my sense of smell. At the time, I didn't know it was COVID, but I suspected it because everyone else in the house had it as well. We assumed it was a mild cold or sinus infection. Good thing that day, I wore a mask. Apparently, you can spread the virus simply by speaking. Though I did touch many surfaces and things, so I might have spread it to someone. Damn it.

 

Another thing. I'm currently undergoing UV light treatment for my eczema. I have 3 sessions a week, which means I'm going to the hospital on a regular basis, and have been going for the past 6-7 weeks. The hospital is less than 10 minutes away from me. Whenever I go in, I see that most people are wearing a mask, especially patients, but not everyone. Some workers there don't have any mask at all, particularly the receptionists. My doctor wears a mask, but doesn't have it on all the time. She even told me to wear one myself because of the new law that's passed around. Wore it for one session, but ran out of masks at home, so I came to the next session without one. They have masks in the office, but she didn't say anything. No one says anything about me not wearing a mask... in a hospital. Found it a bit unusual.

If I ended up getting this virus, I would just self-quarantine at home and if am close to death, I will just let it take me. There is no way in hell I would want to go to a hospital. I have so many health problems, I would never come out alive anyway. I am staying away from people as much as possible and I always wear a mask now that I finally f*cking have some. But, if the worse case situation occurs, f*ck it. I'm done and that's just the way that it goes.

I wouldn't listen to the China Propaganda Network aka WHO even if I was on my deathbed and they told me they had the cure but the CDC has come out saying that wearing a mask will and does help and there have been plenty of studies showing fluid expulsion with and without mask with some fluids can travel up to 10 feet if you have a very forceful sneeze and a new study has shown covid particles can linger in the air for over an hour

 

This video proves that wearing a mask vs not wearing one will kept prevent exposing others to the virus if you are indeed sick by keeping your bodily fluids away from others but it does depend on the type of mask.

Regional bus services were severely disrupted as drivers refused to work following the incident.

The whole "If I'm going down, so are you attitude" isn't helping us get anywhere and it's disgusting we've reached that part in our lives where we want others to suffer rather than help out. I guess asking for people to do the right thing is asking for too much.

 

I've already seen the Karens on youtube having their b*tch & moan that their "doctor" has made them exempt from wearing a mask, no doctor worth their qualifications would tell their patients especially during a pandemic not to wear a mask, the risk as we've already seen is far too great.

 

As I said, mask up, if that is too much for society to achieve then stay the f*ck home and don't come out, the rest of us have had it with trying to do the right thing only for the selfish people of the community to bring us all down.

I'm wondering if percent of positive tests is a good indicator of how many people really have coronavirus, at least in places that have tested lots of people. So for LA county, which has tested 12.7 percent of the population, could we reasonably assume the 127,000 confirmed cases only represent 12.7 percent of actual cases? That would put LA county at 993k cases, or 10% of the population.

 

Also, I've resorted to passive aggressively insulting people who don't wear masks inside, it's kind of fun

It's kinda dependent on how the testing statistics break down. There will likely be large numbers of people in critical care roles who by now have been tested ten plus times so the actual proportion of the population who have undergone testing isn't necessarily a product of dividing the number of tests by how many people live in an area.

On seriousness discussion tho, when did that agency rear their ugly heads? Oh ..... 2020 what a coincidence, just about the same year a certain pandemic was starting to become widespread in western civilization. 

 

they sound more like an agency that's sole purpose would be dealing with air pollution, not making excuses for people to forgo wearing masks. 

 

If there's something that temporary infringes on freedom for safety purposes, it seems like these days there will be some stupid organisation whose sole purpose it is to b*tch about it and how it is unacceptable. We can't go five minutes with trying to do the right thing only for idiots to want to make excuses. 

 

I also find it funny how civilization has experienced many diseases & not once have we heard excuses not to wear a mask until now. People had no problems wearing them during major bushfires / fires or for other reasons where it was recommended but during this pandemic it's "I'm special and don't want to wear one". At this point while it may be controversial, only those who did the right things & wore a mask should be given priority treatment,  those who were stupid to not follow safety precautions should not have good resources wasted on them, I mean they were not only wanting to put themselves at greater risk but also others so why should they be given treatment of any kind? They deserve to suffer. I sadly can't put it any other way, we know there is problematic people and I feel the only way to get the message through clearly to the naysayers is to hit them hard and if they still don't like it then their a lost cause. 

 

I truly feel sorry for those on the front line having to deal with the morons coming into the ER requesting treatment and when asked to follow VERY SIMPLE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS they cry a river over it.

 

I've well and truly shown how I feel about this, I don't think I can make myself any clearer on the matter.

I've seen one guy say that the virus can't be real because he doesn't personally know of anyone that has it or has had it. Yellow fever can't be real because I don't know anyone that has had it. Turner Syndrome can't be real because I don't know anyone that has it. This is f*cking genius!

So I had a doctor appt this morning and the doctor office required all visitors to wear a mask no exceptions and tthat they would not be providing mask as they had a limited supply.

 

So i'm sitting in the waiting room waiting my turn when Karen and Her Mom walks in sans mask, and for some reason I just had that feeling that something was about to go down and keep in mind The receptionist is a young girl maybe 20 years old and her only job is to check you in nothing else.

 

Well they walked in and Karen's Mom sits down while Karen goes up to the window to check her in, When she's informed that she and her mother must wear a mask while inside the doctor office or they will be asked to leave and reschedule for a time when they have squired a mask Karen's Mom heard this and said Hell NO, it's my right to not wear a mask and nobody can force me to wear one! cue Karen spewing the same bullsh*t by now they're screaming at the top of their lungs about their rights to not wear a mask and since there is no law forcing it they can't force them to wear one either.

 

By now the doctor himself has heard all this screaming and has come out to see what was going on and all the sudden they went from screaming banchees to the sweetest old ladies ever sweet talking the doctor by saying that her mom just can't wear a mask as it interfer with her breathing but he said but that doesn't explain why you're not wearing on and judging by your screaming your lungs are perfectly fine so you can wear a mask.

 

You can tell she wanted to start screaming again but didn't the doctor chimes in again telling them they have two choices they can either go buy a mask at the gas station across the street or reschedule the appt but his next opening isn't until October which is 3 months away Karen's Mom just looked at her daughter and said just go buy the damn mask, i can't wait another three months to see him.

 

I just don't get these people, you only need to wear it for maybe an hour while at the doctors or while in the store it's not like you're being forced to wear it 24/7

Today was my first day back in the office since mid March.  4 months!  

 

Have you ever seen the movie 12 Monkeys?   That is the exact area of the city where I work.  It felt like the movie.  No one on the streets, no hub bub, no traffic, everything was kind of still.  Very weird... surreal even.

 

 

 

I'm still impressed with how we've embraced masks around here.
