if you type into youtube search bar costco empty coronavirus  you'll find  a lot of  video's on panic buying around the world at youtube over the worry's of the virus

Its simply because we as a nation, country or world, do not actually know what this virus is, we have no idea how to stop it and we have no idea how big it will become or how long it will last. The unknown is whats effecting people, so yeah that makes people act a little crazy. But if your like me and my wife.. We are planners, we have already been planning for this for a long time, maybe not this but this type of deal. We have ammo stocked, canned foods, "bug out" bags. Ya never know what could happen in this world, better to be safe then sorry at this point!

We have plenty of food, no our ammo is not edible. Although I am not the person to say no to trying new things...

Its not protection for the virus, dont be so close minded. Its for anything. The virus can make people go crazy, there talking about shutting down businesses here they already shut schools down... Before you know it sh*t could hit the fan potentially. We live in a world where anything is possible. We do not know the outcome of tomorrow. Its not just who knows about the virus, what if we went into a world war? Who knows what could happen in the future... If you read my post before you ignorantly responded you would have found out I was talking about being stocked for whatever happens now or 50 years from now...We have been stocked and loaded.

Since your probably a simple minded person, think about why do you have so much pistol ammo on GTA but yet you probably never use the pistol? Just to have it right? Same analogy.

I rarely mention, nor point out things that Trump says/does, as there's million people that will all ready do that, and sometimes it's tiring hearing "Trump this, Trump that." but I could not resist in posting this. Bizarre musings from Donnie J to the T.

Lol

EDIT:

There have been prison riots resulting in deaths in Italy. Also people protesting outside the prisons to let their loved ones out.

There's definitely panic setting in.

I'm afraid crime rates may rise because of this virus. Home robberies may increase due to the potential chaos.

Noticed the first signs of panic buying in the UK yesterday (or should that be "Prudent Buying"?).  Both Lidl and Tesco were completely out of  dry rice, and mostly out out of pasta.  Also there appeared to be no toilet or kitchen roll on the shelves.  Both stores seemed to be very busy, even though it isn't the end of the month.

edit: The next day the stores were even busier and now the pasta has completely gone, along with tinned tuna, sardines, mackerel etc.  One store had very little meat left.  What would people do with it, freeze it I suppose.

Run for your lives. Head for the hills.  Watch the skies!

Well, I for one, have stocked up on weed.

There's a confirmed case in the school just 200 away. But I'm not getting hysteric. And I take immunosuppressants.

I guess the world economy will really tank hard.

Or you could dress up in black and in balaclavas, smash cars and shop windows up and protest the virus.

It cost me £2 to buy two bars of Dettol soap at a bargain Pound shop. They were also selling hand sanitiser for £20. I have to buy toilet roll and bleach wipes from smaller businesses but that suits me fine. I ain't that desperate yet. Also some noodles I sometimes buy were sold out. Funny thing was nobody bought the crap flavour (tom yum or something) so that shelf was almost full😂

It's been years seeing Costco running out of toilet paper. I really needed some last week. This big ass dude was already angrily complaining on the lack of supplies literally in the middle of the whole store. I swear they were close to calling the police. Any random crimes and people shooting each other over cleaning supplies is the last thing we need. Had to drive to the dollar store and get some cheap paper in the mean time. Did they have hand sanitizer? none.... Wal mart in my area has been having major issues aswell as anything regarding cleaning supplies are extremely low if not none at all. The soap section is completely vacant. The lines were also ridiculous with store managers literally losing their marbles. It's strange but it's like the amount of police activity as been high around these larger stores from what I noticed around. Lord help us.

Finally being an introvert pays off. But honestly f*ck 2020 and f*ck this decade. Here I was thinking we're heading for a new start.

Agreed. Just like you, I was hoping this decade and year was gonna be an improvement from last decade and year. I can tell already that this decade most likely won’t be the best.

All joking aside, this coronavirus is some pretty doggone bad news. I have been washing my hands WAY more than I used to. Remember everyone, after you touch your iPad, video game controller, or computer, ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS NO MATTER WHAT! That is the absolute best way to avoid catching this virus! Also, keep your hands out of your mouth and off of your face as much as you can and whenever you do, three words: wash your hands. At this point, I don’t really have to say it but FFS, DO NOT pick your nose, bite your nails, suck your thumb, or chew pencils, EVEN IN MODERATION! Each of those four aforementioned activities are IN DEED ways to catch this coronavirus that’s going on!

On the topic of everyone buying toilet paper en masse, I have a really twisted sort of feeling toward it. A little while ago I was playing Far Cry 5 and throughout the game are doomsday bunkers with goodies in them. But it really bewildered me why every single bunker only had like three rolls of toilet paper in the bathrooms, despite the bunkers being made to withstand nuclear war and thus the occupents would need to be in there for a long period of time. And now everyone is panic buying toilet paper to the point stores are running out of stock. This was only about a month ago so I simply find the coincidence darkly humorous.

Or do 'jazz hands' or talk loudly. I hear that is an effective measure for scaring away things.

The whole washing hands thing bemusing me. It's something I've always done and with the panic buying it makes you think how unhygienic people are. One good thing will come from this especially children is they will always remember to wash their hands.

Spoiler

I'm not perfect. I pick my nose still. Yummy.
