Medical experts have said they fear that Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, could be hastening the country’s march towards a devastating public health crisis like those to have hit northern Italy and New York by undermining social distancing measures.

This video is a month old but it's kind of the mentality of many people until the deaths start happening and then reality kicks in.

I went out today.  Phewwww...  Bandit mask and all.  It's the rule.

My city is a current hotbed.  yay...

Restocked beer because I feel it is going to get tighter here in the upcoming weeks.  Stopped by a buddy to chat on his porch for a bit because everyone is killing for random human chatter it seems.

My sister-in-law and me don’t really get along great, but the other day they moved into a new house (a move decided on months ago before quarantines and social distancing), but she chatted my ear off, and I also talked a lot.  I don’t think we’ve ever spoke that much to each other.

I didn’t leave home for a week with the exception of drive through for dinner.  Went out this weekend for groceries for the week so I don’t have to get fast food.  Everyone is wearing masks here now.  EVERYONE.  It’s bizarre.  I want to take pictures, but people don’t generally appreciate strangers taking pictures of them.  I’d love to take my camera to a grocery store or for a walk and take pictures of people, and ask their opinions on everything.  What I would do with those pictures or their words, I don’t know, but it would be interesting to read about in a decade.

Arrows to Athens

I've almost fully recovered my sense of smell, but I've discovered something about this virus, and that is it grants you a unique superpower: not being able to smell sh*t. That's literally the only positive about contracting this virus. I can smell anything except for my or others' sh*t or farts.

I no longer need to invest in an air freshener now, so I save a bit of money.

I said maybe. I don't even think I was being that serious. And then clarified myself after you responded the first time. To which you then essentially repeated yourself. That's my problem. I'm well aware that this is a forum but if you want a conversation, you have to listen to what people are saying. And by the way folks are very much inclinced to react to your "opinion". It isn't exempt from any critcism either. But I'll leave it at that to prevent venturing further from the main topic. :^:

Indeed, they're entitled to reply... I wouldn't have posted otherwise.

Except those masks are completely f*cking useless, you'd be better off wearing a bucket over your head.

That’s actually not true, It’s been proven if the fabric is thick enough to where if you splash water on it and the water only penetrates the outside layer leaving the inside layer dry then it’ll stop the virus droplets from penetrating it.

Even then added an extra layer of protection using three sheets of thick heavy duty paper towels betweenThe outside and inside layer

Police in India make COVIDIOT tourists write, ‘I didn’t follow lockdown. I am sorry’ 500 times

I remember having to do that in 2nd grade after I called a girl I like Booger Brain...

I had to write I’m sorry for calling Emily a Booger Brain until I filled in two sheets front and back.

I tried to cheat writing big block letters I had finished a page and hang before I got caught and had to start all over again

It wouldn't be too far fetched an idea that it might've escaped from a lab. Created? Not so much, it's pretty sh*tty as far as biological weapons go.

Menstrual Deranged

Couldn't get out of making a trip to my pharmacy yesterday. Got the whole bandit/ninja look going on with my mask and hat. I have to admit, I've always wanted to be able to wear a mask when leaving the house because of how disgusting I find the general public. Now I can do it without getting weird looks. That's one good thing, just wish it wasn't under these circumstances. A year or so ago, I'd bought a washable mask with replaceable PM2.5 filters. I don't know much about those filters but according to a Google search they're supposedly comparable to N95s. Better than nothing I suppose.

I live in a county that has a high number of cases, so we've been leaving the house as little as possible. We wipe down everything we bring into the house with bleach, even our mail and groceries. We have a little decon station in our garage where we've been spraying down our shoes with hydrogen peroxide. After going somewhere, we also undress in the garage, immediately put our clothes in the washer, and take a vigorous shower.

When I was at the pharmacy, I noticed all the employees were wearing masks. The store had installed sneeze guards at all the registers. Couldn't help but notice that the only customers not wearing masks were a couple of old crusty-looking dudes. One of them obviously had COPD. The stores all have signs up saying that customers need to stay 6 feet apart and one of these guys practically brushed up against me before I had a chance to realize he was coming. I wanted to tell him that my hospital's ER is admitting several guys like him positive for COVID every day. Pretty sure some of these older Americans are directly contributing to their own demise.

Anyone else not looking forward to doing online exams? I think it's much worse than being there physically at the uni, but not much you can do at this moment. So many people will probably cheat, i've heard they considered making the exam pass or fail, but i don't think they will do it. Grades mean everything in law school, this would make a lot of people mad, but in the end its not up to them. Grading pass or fail, makes sense if you think about it. They can't guarantee cheating wont happen, of course you cant guarantee that in a physical exam, but the chance of someone successfully cheating is so much lower. In this online exam you can literally just call your professional friend/family member, and they can write the whole thing for you without anyone ever knowing, since you are doing it at home.

I called it, while it’s not the 1,009% I predicted I said China was vastly under reporting their numbers while I still believe it’s still not the full scale numbers it’s a start

All I keep thinking is 'f*ck *insert country of virus origin here*', even more so now because I had to throw my jeans in the bath again because I spilt yoghurt on them.

@Cameron Star You use bleach? I just use either antibacterial wipes or sometimes fill the sink up and just use washing up liquid and a sponge to clean my shopping, then dry it off with kitchen roll. Anything that comes in packs like individually wrapped cakes or multipacks of crisps I just open and dump on my bed and find places in my flat to put them.

I saw this video and try this. Hope its work.

Where I live, in Bosnia and Herzegovina,is so  far around 1200 infected and 300 recovered with 50 casualties. In my city of Sarajevo there is 60 infected. There is a curfew and my company is closed. Maybe they call me after this is over. Right now it is a strange situation, like fighting with invisible enemy. Lets hope it will be over soon, and good luck to everyone. Wish this dystopian nightmare end,and people recover from this.

Just for the hell of it me and my wife got in the car and looped down through south philly for a drive.  You thought they were creative with parking before?  Now that they are all home at the same time it is apparent that staggered schedules was important to their already f*cked up parking.

Funny story about parking... I live Northwest and there's a bar down the street from my place where the patrons like to park on the sidewalk all the time. Total assholes. I always wondered why they never got tickets until I was told that they beat up a PPA officer to stop ticketing them. Now the PPA doesn't even bother.

Thankfully, I'm working from home and don't have to drive anywhere unless it's essential. I haven't driven in a week. I'm pretty sure I might forget how to drive... but hey, not getting on 76 during rush hour anymore has really lifted a lot of stress for me haha!

They're saying the curve is flattening, but I've remained skeptical through-out the entire coverage here in the UK. I still think things have been handled really clumsily and things continue to fall to bits when you even think about things for more than 10 minutes. I know it's rather popular to rag on your own government and I'm usually rather quiet on matters like that but I think there's some balls being dropped. I'm not even sad or angry, I'm just disappointed in it all.

My wife bought tickets to Israel for July...I can’t see it happening but she says I’m overestimating.

China should have been quarantined in Dec/Jan.  No goods or people allowed out.  Thats not a UK failure.  Its a WHO failure.  imo.

We are lucky, I'm not sure of exact numbers but in February our region only had 50 ICU's for a population of a few million.  With China being shady about the virus for months, effected countries are playing catch up.

I honestly wouldn't like to say. I'm thinking we'll have one more period of lockdown after this one, but with somewhat less restrictive measures. I don't think things will return to a new normality until late June/early July, but even then I'm hearing talks that things might stay the way they are until a vaccine is found, and they've predicted September for that. Is she eligible for a refund if she cancels?

Yeah she is...

She likes to see her family there as much as possible so it’s hard for her.,.Israel is hardcore on this so it might be them not letting anyone from the UK in at that time...they were one of the first to close their airports.
