I often use too many tissues and I avoid any trash cans that you have to touch to open. And of course I don't put it in my pocket.

That wasn't the point and I see where you're going yes, but I'm wasn't saying I was absolutely invincible to viruses just because I don't touch a damn door knob to begin with. Before all of this I went to a campus with 40,000 students daily and always went to a mall with thousands of visitors daily. It would be absolutely stupid of me to assume that because I don't touch door knobs that I'm 100% avoiding contact. I never implied that. It was merely an example. My point was I've always taken precautions with everything. And yes I sanitize my phone, yes I wipe down my laptop, yes I'm weary of other people handing me things, and first and foremost I wash my hands and face and all of that whenever I can. I'm a germaphobe

I wasn't even trying to argue a point, so sorry if it sounded like I was trying to say "people are stupid for getting sick" that would be ridiculous.

It come across as if you avoided the cold or a flu for over a decade because of your actions like not touching door handles etc. I think its more to do with you possibly having a strong immune system as to why you don't catch the cold often. Not touching door handles etc probably does help too, but not as much as you may think. Germs live in the air & unless you wash your hands every few minutes, its nigh on impossible to be totally 'clean' so to speak.

@Plage -

The Coronavirus may not live on surfaces according to that research, but its definitely living somewhere because its spreading around the world at a rapid rate!!! I'm not a Scientist or a researcher & therefore, I can only offer my opinion. However, there's a misconception with regards to the Coronavirus. Some articles say that the virus lives on surfaces & others say its airborne. So, its hard to know what to think... It makes me wonder if the Scientists or researches actually know what they're talking about because there's so much conflicting information from different sources.

The U.S has now overtaken Italy with the most deaths in the world now at 20,000 deaths with 760 deaths in New York alone

Infected numbers have spiked in Maryland and is feared of it being in the next epicenter with 1,500 cases in 48 hours and 200 deaths in 24 hours

(A good majority of these are in the same area where a group who tried to fight or just flat out refused to leave when People trying to break them up)

Pastors in Kansas, Kentucky Michigan and Mississippi said they’ll be hold Easter Mass

Relief checks have already started being deposited into bank accounts as of yesterday April 10th.

So if you’ve filed taxes online and/or used direct deposit to receive your tax refunds, Worked for the U.S Railroad System or get Social Security and or Disability then we should be getting our checks within the week but if not this week then most likely next week.

If you didn’t file taxes in 2018/2019/2020 or made under $13,000 or you received a paper check for your tax refund then go to www.irs.gov and complete the form to give them your bank account information so you can receive direct deposit and won’t have to wait for a paper check which could take up to four months to get

Does anybody else think China is full of sh*t when it comes to their “Official Numbers” when it comes to how many infected and deaths were Reported to the western Media's vs How many they’re actually are?

I’m still very skeptical about Our Numbers vs China’s we don’t know how long China kept the news of the virus from getting out to mainstream media.

China only reported 81,953 cases with only 3,339 death....Really?

So why are 20,000 Americans death and 100,000’s infected but China only has 3,339 deaths? I’m not buying whst they’re selling

What did China do so great that saved 77,525 from dying? Italy, Spain, UK and U.S all have the best equipment, The best hospitals and superhero Doctors but yet we have 20,000 deaths?

I have no doubts China’s numbers are vastly under reported and I don’t mean those who had it but stayed home as we all know China’s not very honest when it comes to facts.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we’d later learn if those numbers increased by 1,000% because China is/was trying to hide the full impact of the virus and its death rate.

My dollar store  got in some masks the other day, they are four dollars CAD each, but the dollar store hoarded them in the back for stock clerks and cashiers only, luckily one of the cashiers was a old Neighbour  of mine and she gave me a mask yesterday, it's antimicrobial 100% polyester and was made in Canada the mask, looks like the style of the masks from 1918 that they ware during the The 1918 influenza pandemic!..

Owe my nephew's roommate works in the retail market and when the lysol wipes came in he brought two home with him, it's like you've got to be in business as a healthcare worker or retail store to get your hands on they good stuff!..

Owe on the other hand they'll the indian cigarettes cheap smoke market has dried out, something about too much police and military on the border's and bridges etc turning away unnecessary vehicles etc, a carton of cigarettes from the cornwall  indian reserve sold for $20 a carton here

You can follow the links they've provided. Most of them lead to publications worth to be stored in the US National Library of Medicine and to be published via the website of the National Center for Biotechnology Information. I haven't read them all but the ones I read seem to support the anti-viral and anti-inflammatory effects of at least CBD and other positive effects like support of the immune system in case of various other viral infections and lung diseases. Of course there's no proven relation of positive cannabinoid effects on Covid-19 at this point but the hints in the right direction are there.

A bit of an aside, but the actual medical evidence for the benefits of CBD is extremely limited. Most of the effects which have been demonstrated in an academic/peer-review context for applications like the above come from in-vitro laboratory testing, which is a good start but a very long way from demonstrable medical benefits to people once applied or ingested.

The only exception to this is in certain seizure related disorders that don't respond to other treatments. There's limited evidence in support of treating anxiety and chronic pain, but that's largely it in actual medical applications.

Viruses can live in the air for a few hours. Take it from me who contracted the virus and my whole family in the household. One day I was fine and then hours later I began to developed all three significant symptoms at the time. I'm somewhat recovered right now (no more fever, o2 saturation is normal, no chills, etc.). However, I still have a little difficulty breathing which is possibly due to hypoxemia and my underlying condition of scoliosis (which affects my left lung).

The idea of immunity to the virus is still up for discussion as well because we don't know how long our antibodies are able to mitigate the virus itself or not. I'm just hoping that a vaccine will be out after a year.

Well, the virus did start in China, so it makes perfect sense that they will resort to some lying in order to make the severity of the outbreak look nowhere near as bad as it is actually does.

Well to be fair they should be as we need our Heath care workers to be safe to care for the Mdumbasses who get sick as for the store workers start getting sick then stores will start closing down leaving the rest of us with no way to get supplies.

Here in Ohio and other states it’s basically illegal for retailers to sell anything higher than standard face mask as the heavy duty medical ones are for medical workers only so that means you can’t buy any surgical level mask or N95-N-100’s as they’re for medical workers only.

Even with that stores aren’t even stocking regular mask anymore they’re all going to local hospitals.

You don’t really need to buy a mask as they’re super easy to make at home, I personally made three myself from old T-Shirts you just need to make sure it’s a dense breathable fabric.

If anybody needs any tips for making a homemade mask feel free to ask

Most modelling suggests between 40,000 and 85,000 deaths in Wuhan alone, which is corroborated by eyewitnesses. Fiddling figures like these is something of a CPC speciality. See also- organ harvesting from Falun Gong.

I went out today.  Phewwww...  Bandit mask and all.  It's the rule.

My city is a current hotbed.  yay...

Restocked beer because I feel it is going to get tighter here in the upcoming weeks.  Stopped by a buddy to chat on his porch for a bit because everyone is killing for random human chatter it seems.

I wasn't giving you a lecture, I was just stating a simple point & offering my opinion. You said that you thought or was under the impression that you avoided the cold or flu for over a decade because you avoid touching door handles, or get frustrated when people stand close to you in public.

The simple solution is don't post at all if you don't expect a reaction. Its a forum, this thread is in a general chat section with 36 pages to date. People are going to respond to posts made & offer their opinions/feedback. If you don't like being responded to by way of calling it a lecture when someone does respond, then like I said, don't bother posting a message. I'm not lecturing you, I'm just offering my opinion to your post & I'm entitled to do that the same as everyone else.

I mean no offence, so don't take it the wrong way. 🙂

Except when your own government propagates that it ain't going to do nada to stop the virus.

It's like saying when you go for a drive, your not going to likely get in an accident so you don't need to wear your seatbelt even through you still should. I know this is probably a bad analogy but it's best I can think off the top of my head at the moment.

Like I said the other week, I understand we need to preserve & save them for those on the frontline but I still find it ridiculous they'd rather people go unprotected than at least use whatever suitable protective gear they have. There's also been a massive increase on masks. You could be paying $30 for a single disposable mask now. Before COVID, it was probably $5 maybe less for a single one. The price gouging is another reason why I hate people.

I was up at the shops on the weekend and I only saw one person using a mask, everyone else was still gloveless & mask less.

Dumped Milk, Smashed Eggs, Plowed Vegetables: Food Waste of the Pandemic

David Yaffe-Bellany and Michael Corkery

In Wisconsin and Ohio, farmers are dumping thousands of gallons of fresh milk into lagoons and manure pits. An Idaho farmer has dug huge ditches to bury 1 million pounds of onions. And in South Florida, a region that supplies much of the Eastern half of the United States with produce, tractors are crisscrossing bean and cabbage fields, plowing perfectly ripe vegetables back into the soil.

After weeks of concern about shortages in grocery stores and mad scrambles to find the last box of pasta or toilet paper roll, many of the nation’s largest farms are struggling with another ghastly effect of the pandemic. They are being forced to destroy tens of millions of pounds of fresh food that they can no longer sell...

I said maybe. I don't even think I was being that serious. And then clarified myself after you responded the first time. To which you then essentially repeated yourself. That's my problem. I'm well aware that this is a forum but if you want a conversation, you have to listen to what people are saying. And by the way folks are very much inclinced to react to your "opinion". It isn't exempt from any critcism either. But I'll leave it at that to prevent venturing further from the main topic. :^:

Developed a temperature (not too high, pretty stable at around 39°C so far) and cough overnight and other than a general sense of lethargy I don't feel too bad, yet at least.

Moved myself out of the main house  during the night as my wife and kid don't have any symptoms as yet, fingers crossed that remains the case.

I've got plenty of supplies, so I guess I'll game and binge watch my way through.

The daughter of former neighbours of ours works as a carer in a home. They found out one of the women she looks after had the virus. The daughter we knew then tested positive. She is now isolated with this elderly woman, hoping she doesnt end up in intensive care while watching this woman die.

Caring for the elderly is hard as inevitably they die. But this situation is way above what they normally deal with. So many young carers will be affected by this mentally.
