Using the Map Editor tool, and the Restoration mod, I made copies of John's original hair and renamed them to the appropriate names so they replace Left Parted lengths 2 through 7 (this way John uses his original hair in The Wheel and forward). Anyways, maybe I haven't played long enough, but using the Map Editor/streaming method to restore the hair, I have yet to notice any hair clipping with John's Classic Hat, like I did with josh's script.

 

It doesn't clip through the hat because i'm using one of the del lobos/van horn npc hair model, which fit straight hats, while Josh's script uses npc John's hair which only fits tilted hats.

I didn't chose to replace all of the hair lenghts because i like some of the hairstyles, plus, when you replace the hair model Arthur's hair also gets affected so Arthur having John's hair as default wouldnt look very nice.

Well by default Arthur uses right parted, and John uses left parted, correct? So unless you stray from that, you wouldn't notice. In my case at least, I like to keep the characters in their default/official designs.

 

Good job anyways on the hair model you picked, it's very close to John's 1899 hair. Nice to not deal with the clipping.

Oh yeah, i forgot John is right parted and Arthur is left parted. Makes no sense at all, it should be the inverse but whatever.

Thanks! I had to spend some time testing a lot of npc hair components to find it and i still haven't tested all of them. They're not named for specific npcs except for the neanderthal. The only hair models named for specific characters are in cutscene rpfs etc.

@GuiCORLEONEx794 I've noticed your recent tweet has screenshots of John without the neck seam. Did you manage to fully port his beta character model into the game?

 

I also noticed a small part of his original hair is invisible when wearing a hat. I'm pretty sure it's also present with his NPC model, so I'm not sure if it could be fixed, but could you still have a look?

that happens in order for that hair to fit the hat. Theres nothing i can do about it. I'm stil testing all of the hair component variations, if i find a better one i might include it in a update.

Rampage now has support for file streaming, so now everyone can install my mod, even if you don't have MapEditor.

the mod works great, but I'd like to mention some bugs, hoping you can fix them:

npc orange vest is a bit big, if it can be scaled down a bit that would fit perfectly.

open gunslinger vest doesn't work well if using any shirt except cassimere, and even then it clips sometimes, so I believe the script should be made, so it spawns open variant only if some conditions are met (if you wear appropriate shirt for example), otherwise it gives closed variant. the same should be done for thompson vest.

I already know all of that. Thats why i didn't want to include the open vest in my mod because the shirt won't be compatible with other vests. The orange vest is big because its an unfinished model that doesn't adjust to John's body model. I don't know how to make mod scripts.

 

Btw no, i cannot add the open thompson vest and i already tried to. 

 

The main focus of my mod is fixing the head and face textures, the clothings assets were just added because people asked.

 

If my mod is too glitchy, there is always Josh's hair mod available to download.

The game has some weird script that makes the gloves bigger, so no. But i am working on it.

also the 1.00 gloves clip through the arms for some reason and only works when replacing Arthur's winter gloves

What if you retextured the end of the arms that clip in the torso texture for gloves to be black? Or am I dumb?

I thought about that but then if you remove the gloves you would see the black pant in his wrists

Why don't you guys just use the in-game black gloves that are available for both John and Arthur, they are just like John's but smaller

They are still much bigger than John's 1.00 gloves tho, specially from perfect weight+.

They also are not in the cowboy outfit which means you'd have to change the gloves every time you want to use the cowboy.
