GTA V WEAPON SYSTEM

for GTA San Andreas

 

Hi all, I'm currently working on a mod which brings the entire weapon system of Grand Theft Auto V into GTA San Andreas. 

Currently, I'm working on the Weapon Wheel using lua scripts (which work thanks to MoonLoader) and on the weapon conversion.

 

 

GTA V WEAPON SYSTEM v0.3 released

This version includes the GTA V Weapon Wheel and every weapon model from GTA V (added and replaced)

It also includes some additions, as San Andreas has weapons GTA V doesn't have.

THIS IS STILL A TEST VERSION AND IS NOT FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH SA STORYLINE:

You will gain all the weapons when you start the game. If you pick up any weapon, it won't add ammo.

All of those compatibility problems will be fixed in the next versions.

Version 0.3.5 will include the weapons i have not finished converting (take a look to the list in the first post)

Version 0.4 will implement parachute slot.

My plans include:

  • Complete conversion of GTA V weapon models (added to SA thanks to Fastman92 Limit Adjuster)
  • A fully functional weapon wheel
  • GTA V weapon functions (slide, magazine...)
  • The sounds and the weapon behaviour of GTA V (using scripts for some weapons, such as the Grenade Launcher or the Flare Gun)
  • An attachment and tint system, just like GTA V
  • New Ammu-Nation interior

Spoiler

green -> weapon converted (model/texture)

orange -> model replaced (weapons without this tag are added)

purple -> beta weapons (weapons with this tag were present in the beta version of GTA V, but not in the final version. Models will be ripped from other games)

light blue -> new weapons (weapons with this tag are not present in GTA V, but, to avoid having LQ weapons in San Andreas, i will add them)

dark red -> script needed (weapons with this tag need an external script to work properly. Until this tag is present, those weapons won't work as they have to)

red -> script (weapons with this tag have an external script to make them work properly)

yellow -> retextured (weapons with this tag are present in GTA V, but are retextured to avoid model/texture repetition. The BZ gas is an example, as it uses Tear Gas texture)

amazing stuff man, are those custom recoil animations i see as well? How did you implement them? Did you use a limit adjuster to add weapons?

Thank you man.

I've added those weapons with Fastman92 Limit Adjuster and those animations aren't made by me (unfortunately) - but animations are in plan too.

UPDATE

  • SLOT 1 [Handguns] conversion is completed (only base model + base texture)
  • Added Sound from GTA V
  • Added background blue effect
  • BONUS: I started working on a GTA V-like interaction menu, but it still a concept

Can you make this wheel more SA Style as alternative version?

I mean:
hand slot: fists or brassknucles
meele weapons: knife, golfclub etc.
gifts: flowers, cane, etc.

Of course I can. But first, I'm going to finish GTA V one.

One of my goals is making it completely customizable, so I think that it won't be that difficult to do that.

Tomorrow I will start revising the code by adding a configuration file (At now it is only possible to edit the wheel only through editing the code itself).

Could you try adding a representation of the weapon model when purchasing in Ammunition as in GTA V or similar Vice city ?

Converting AmmuNation interior is in program, doing what you've said is a priority 😉

UPDATE

I've added configuration files in weapon wheel, along with language file (yes, it is multi-language).

I hope in a first release before Sunday, with everything adapted to San Andreas. Then, I will focus on converting GTA V weapons and I will release a second version with them.

I'm currently recreating GTA V style weapon incons from San Andreas weapon renders. This will take a while, so I don't know if the first version will be uploaded this week. 

I also need to configure the wheel to work with GTA SA weapons and I need to write some sort of function to keep updating the weapons the player pick up and their ammo.

I need someone to test the performance of this mod on other systems than mine. 

If someone is interested, just write here or PM me.

Just one thing: for this test version you MUST have 1080p resolution.

 

I just finished drawing icons from weapon renders (my drawings are in LQ to avoid any performance issue, they will be in HQ on final version) and I started testing ammo system and save weapon system, since the wheel at the moment shows every weapon in the game. More updates to come.

If your browser treat it like a virus is because MoonAdditions.dll is seen as a threat, i don't know why...

NOTE: This is a work-in-progress version, so you will always have all the weapons in the inventory at once. Each weapon you collect won't add any ammo. Double wielding is not implemented yet and ammo display needs to be more accurate. Those things will be fixed in future versions.

 

 

I want to thank @RestractPrime for his help in testing the mod.

UPDATE

Machine Pistol converted

Fixed slot scrolling: now each slot can contain any number of weapon, instead of containig every weapon of that slot

Fixed empty slot bug: if you select an empty slot, the weapon remains the same as before.

Fixed an ammunition bug which doubled weapon ammo after selecting a weapon of the same slot. [Soon will be implemented AMMO_TYPES]

Ima save the day and prevent you from going far and doing a quadruple posting over here, i think you should scrape the inventory alltogether, and make it another mod if you want to have it, makes no sense in the context of this one.

Michael, Franklin and Trevor colours now are configurable from the config file.

You can also add as many custom colours as you want, just adding a profile name and RGB values for that profile.

Thank you for reporting it. The file was automatically removed from Mediafire because the site treated MoonAdditions as a virus, I don't know why...

UPDATE

[Download link with updates will be available when the mod will reach a stable version]

  • Weapon Ammo fixed
  • New weapons converted (SLOT 1 - 2 finished, started working on SLOT3 and already 4 weapons done)
  • Started working on weapon statistics visualization (in top right corner) It is almost done, I just need to set the right stats for each weapon
  • The code is now lighter and uses less memory
  • The icons now are located in a separate file from weapon wheel texture dictionary (It increases performance)
  • Weapons now have a new attribute in weapon_conf.ini, to check if a weapon can be modified with attachments. If so, attachments list will appear on the wheel (for now, it says only "No Attachments", as attachments system is not implemented yet)

UPDATE

  • Ammo types implemented: now multiple weapons can share the same ammo. For example, if you shoot with your pistol, the ammo from the silenced pistol will decrease too.
  • The colored slot border will no longer appear for every weapon in the slot, but only for the weapon you have selected

 

I will work on the GTA V weapon wheel before adapting all the changes I've done to the San Andreas one.

UPDATE

  • Weapon scrolling fixed: now you can have as many weapon as you want, no longer the entire arsenal at once.
  • Added settings for three different players [Michael - Franklin - Trevor], so each of them will have their weapons. Until now it is possible to switch between them only through editing the ini file, but in the final version, i will include a Character switch similar to GTA V one (and maybe write a script to really change players, not only changing the wheel HUD colour.
  • I created a player switcher to change player (and so arsenal/HUD colour). In the future it will behaves like GTA V one, switching through three players that operate indipendently in the map

I made a video that contains all the updates I did to my mod. You can see the difference between this video and the first video I published to observe how many new things and imprevements I've done so far. Read the post above to have a complete vision of what it's been added and improved.

I hope in a stable release in a month or (maybe) less.

I converted the sniper rifle and tried to make a script for the sniper scope. I made in in 10 minutes, so it is simple but buggy and not optimized. The scope texture needs to be redone too, as I took a screenshot from GTA V and cut out the scope from that.

With that script the sniper scope:

  • becomes red when killing someone (I have to edit this, because it must become red when hitting someone, not only when killing.)
  • The red bar  near the center slides from left to right and vice versa as the zoom increases or decrease

Yes, you can check the weapon list in my first post to see the progress. I'm now focusing my work on weapon conversion, and I almost finished.

 

I'm also rewriting the weapon wheel script to make it better.
