Maybe despite his wish to quit he found himself addicted to the game and couldn't let go? I don't know tbh, in a way I can see the other users point too, despite building an empire Vic never seemed as ambitious as Tommy and maybe he tried to lay low after VCS but by VC he felt the itch to get back to the game again, like Michael in V, after getting such a big taste of it in VCS But then this is all speculation on my part, the writers of the game are probably the only ones who know why Vic was still in the game in VC
zBadBooyBR 24
Yeah, they kinda screwed up Vic's plot, Vic wasn't even an actual character in GTA Vice City, being refered only as "supplier" in the credits, later they turned him into an actual character in VCS. I think they could have made the supplier as Pete, or either have made Diaz kill him before the deal in the beginning of the game, because it's weird how in two years Vic appearance changes drastically, he doesn't even looks like himself anymore, he simply became fat drug dealer with a strong colombian accent out of nowhere! Rockstar could atleast have retconned it maybe.
El Penguin Bobo 3,328
A badass mobster that doesn't take any sh*t from anyone. Classic GTA protagonist. Unlike CJ where he starts crying about having a gun pointed to his head when he's supposed to be a cold-hearted gangsta. 4

He was just someone from the ghetto and simply wanted to get out of there, like he said "it's everyone's dreams to get out of the hood". Maybe he didn't want that life but since he grew around that enviroment he just went that way. He isn't supposed to be a tough bad ass like all other GTA pretagonists I think.

DEALUX 2,558
Probably a toss-up between him and Claude for the best GTA main character though Niko is kinda close too.

I think I like Vic better but the Stories games aren't my favorite. The story and writing are not as fleshed out as they are in the main games of that era. OH76 227
Pretty great protagonist. Intelligent, charismatic and doesn't even take orders unlike most other protagonists, he just has his mind.
FanEu7 551
Tommy is the most badass GTA protagonist and Ray Liotta being his VA just made him way more memorable. Humanizing protagonists is great and all but Tommy shows that its not necessary and a "simple" badass is more than enough. At the end of the game it really feels like he is the Nr.1 in the city, I don't get that feeling with any other GTA game Edited December 29, 2020 by FanEu7
CJfan9204 6
Not my favorite protagonist, but he sure is a great one. Rude, violent and loud like a GTA character should be.
Castrophe 3
I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's slightly overrated. Don't get me wrong, he's a great character but in my opinion I like several NPCs more (I would've liked it if we got to use Salvatore in Liberty City Stories for example).
