RDR2 PC Patch - 1232.30 (1.17) | 20/02/2020

I don't know what was 3GB for but literally nothing was fixed in this patch.

Still random unknown error ffff on startup with Vulkan that can only be fixed by restarting PC or gfx state errors in DX12

 

I'm really mad because it's not my PC, it's the game, and the port quality is on par, if not worse, than GTA IV at this point, but at least they tried to fix things back then, now they just don't care.

it's the stability patch for online that was on console last week, it's done little to no improvements to animal spawns.

For me animal spawns got better but this seems to be related to the size of the lobby. To me it seems they've reduced the max player count. At least for the last couple of sessions there were only about 10 people around.

 

I still get occasional freezes in the garderobe and the bug with the disappearing camp/shack also wasn't fixed.

Not that's not a bug, but that's a particularly convoluted way to change settings. 

 

About the update itself: bring me back before the stuttering update and I might start the game again and attemp to get get gold on some missions!

Is it really not fixed or could it be not mentioned? Patch notes not always say everything.

Now I understand why Dan Houser gone from R*

 

Whole internet burning about 2 major bugs (missing crates on fence shop and missing smoke from train) and they do nothing about it. And yes I know, they will fix that when i finish game. Same as I bought ultimate for 100€ and they cut 40% price one week later.

This message from the Launcher about the drivers is so annoying, no matter OK, Cancel or "X" it's point me to the R* website and I must to play with opened internet browser!!!

Yes I know that I need to update the drivers but where is it!?!? I'm with windows 8.1 and there is no hot fix driver about that!

It looks like NVIDIA is neglecting Windows 8.1 themselves starting with the release of the RTX cards, so soon enough your only choices are only Windows 7 or Windows 10. Not Rockstar's fault.

I think that makes sense. Overall, I think it's best just to wait until a game is finished--whatever that actually ends up meaning--and then decide how much the game is worth.

There will be official driver soon for all windows. The fault of Rockstar is that they recommend unreleased driver with annoying message.

I was wrong about the Launcher warning message about the driver, when i click OK everything is closed (no website pop up) and the game start normally.

It's not really unreleased, the hotfix driver has a version above the recommended one, and it works for users on Windows 10. As I said, NVIDIA themselves are slowly dropping Windows 8.1 and earlier support, so even hotfixes only show up for Windows 10. It is a shame NVIDIA has to make Windows 8.1 users wait for the final driver as Windows 8.1 is not unsupported yet.

I was with W10 before and I must to install it again, the only thing that bother me is that I need to tweak it all day, drivers, registers, services...

One thing is hot fix driver and another thing is official driver, to me this update is good but kind of stupid, update which work properly with the new "hot fix" driver only for W10, here both Nvidia and R* did a "great" job(confusion).

This hotfix driver has actually increased my crashes in Online. A crash is guaranteed every 15 minutes.

I had 0 crash in my first 200hrs timeplay with old nvidia driver but my second 200hrs with new driver was something like every 45-60 mins one crash!

Same exactly. And it happens only in Online. SP is mostly fine.

They had over a decade to fix their products. Enough of the patch notes fallacy, all I see here is that they're trying to humiliate and piss us off.

Playing the last updated version on the previous version of the driver (422.19) using Vulkan, got to chapter 2 without any issues whatsoever. Can't say anything about the online part of the game though, don't have time resources for this now. Maybe if I'm really bored later, but I have some other serious titles to play with (F1 2019, WRC 8, Dirt Rally 2.0 and Horizon 4).

 

FPS-wise, with the mixture of ultra-high and medium grass I'm getting 60 or more, but will monitor it later as soon as I'm fixing my Afterurner.
